A collection fee of $25.00 will be added to the amount of any returned cheque. Fax entries and/or credit card payment will be accepted when accompanied by authorized VISA or MASTERCARD credit card number, expiry date and cardholder s name. 10% of total fee will be added for FAX/Credit Card entries. Customers whose charges are declined by the Bank Card Authorization Department will be assessed a service charge of $25.00 for each transaction declined. Telephone entries are not accepted by the Show Secretary. Incomplete entries or entries received without fees, or entries received after the advertised closing date will not be accepted. 6 RULES GOVERNING THESE EVENTS It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be familiar with the rules pertaining to the event in which they are competing. Copies of the Conformation Show Rules & Regulations are available from the Canadian Kennel Club, Ronson Dr, Etobicoke, Ontario M9W5Z9 1. The Club reserves the right to decline to accept entries for just cause, and/or to refuse to receive the entry of any dog, or remove from the show building /grooming building any dog, on account of disease or viciousness, In the case of non-acceptance, the fees shall be returned with the reason for non-acceptance. No one shall have claim or recourse against the organization holding the shows, or against any official connected therewith for the refusal of any entry. The Show Superintendent shall have full control of the shows. 2. The officials of the show-giving club are responsible for the conduct of the exhibitors and spectators during the show. Any person acting in an objectionable manner must be removed from the show on complaint to the Show Superintendent 3. A judge officiating at a show held under C.K.C. Rules shall not be subject to indignities of any kind during the progress of the Show, and it shall be the duty and obligation of the Club holding the Show to see that this Rule is effectively carried out. (DSC 4.1.3) 4. There will be no refunds for overpayments of duplicate entries. No entry fees will be refunded if the show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club. 5. The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume liability in the event of accident, loss, or other misfortune to either dogs, exhibitors, patrons, or the contents of commercial booths. See agreement on back of entry forms. 6. The owner of a dog entered in this Show is entirely responsible for any errors in entering his dog, regardless of how or by whom the entry was made. 7. Any dog excused by the Show Superintendent or Show Veterinarian for any reason shall not, after being excused, compete in any class for any award for the balance of the show. 8. A judge shall have the right to measure in the ring and weigh or have weighed by the Superintendent, any dog whose breed standard lists height or weight as a disqualification. The decision of the Show Superintendent reported to the judge shall be final in the determination of the weight. The decision of the judge shall be final in the determination of all disqualification s (DSR 4.5.1) 9. A dog once disqualified for any reason at a Champion Show held under C.K.C. Rules cannot again be shown at a Show under C.K.C. Rules until the dogs has been examined by an official committee appointed by the C.K.C. and the committee finds the dog is free from the condition which prompted the disqualification. Application for Reinstatement must accompanied by a fee which fee shall be forfeited to the C.K.C. if the examining committee is satisfied that the dog should remain disqualified. All awards earned by a dog shown in violation of this Rule shall be cancelled by the C.K.C., and the owner of the dog is subject to disciplinary action. 10. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that you exercise control and restraint over children on the days of these shows. 11. The Show committee reserves the right to restrict exhibitor s space.

7 CHAMPIONS & CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Rules shall be Credited with a number of championship points (ranging from o to 5) and the Determination of the number shall be as follows: DOGS COMPETING* * POINTS ALLOCATED *Includes the dog awarded Winners. If the dog awarded Winners is also Best of Winners, Best of Opposite Sex or BEST OF BREED, the number of championship points will depend on the total Number of dogs defeated directly or indirectly for the award. In addition to Championship points allocated at the breed level, a dog awarded Winners which also places in the regular GROUP competition shall be credited with the following additional points, provided that the dog has defeated another dog at the Group level, save that not more than 5 points will be credited to a dog for a single show. EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN) and have 1 two point win from the Breed or Group level. EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBERS- For the sole purpose of entering C.K.C. Events to acquire C.K.C. degrees and titles, individual registration will no longer be required for foreign born, foreign owned dogs. Instead they may apply for an EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN). This number must be obtained within 30 days of obtaining points. At first Canadian event to avoid cancellation of awards, and can be obtained by submitting a photocopy of your foreign Certificate of Registration and the appropriate fee with a letter of request to the C.K.C.(This ERN number replaces a C.K.C. CANADIAN BRED for dogs born in Canada. Champions in any country Excluded. BRED BY EXHIBITOR This class shall be for any dog owned and handled in the ring owner, breeder. The handler must be the owner, co-owner and breeder, co-breeder of the dog. OPEN for all dogs. SPECIALS ONLY..for dogs individually registered in the C.K.C. records or Who possess an ERN number and who have earned all of the championship points Required for Championship status at the time of the closing of entries for the show. Specials dogs shall compete for the Best of Breed or Best Opposite Sex award. Entry of a Listed dog is not Permitted in Specials Only NOTE: A listed dog MAY be moved to Specials only AFTER the closing of entries,provided the C.K.C. Individual or ERN Number was received prior to the first day of the show. The request to move a class dog to the Specials Only class MUST be received by the Show Secretary ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE FIRST SHOW ON THE DAY CONCERNED. 10 JUNIOR HANDLING This competition will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 during the lunch hour. There will be a $2.00 fee will be collected at the Show Secretary s desk from 10:00 am up to 11:00 ONLY on Saturday. Any dog entered in Junior Handling must be entered in one of the regular classes or for exhibition only in the show that day. The dog need not be owned by the Jr. Handler or any of his immediate family. JUDGE: TBA CLASSES Peewee (unofficial Class) Junior Novice Junior Open Intermediate Novice (subject to CKC Rules) Intermediate Open Senior Novice Senior Open Pee Wees From ages 4-6 some may be 7 during the competition year depending on when their birthday falls. Junior Novice From ages 7 until 10 years of age. Child must be 7 yrs old as of December 31, 2005 in order to start at Jr Novice. This is for children who have NOT won six firsts with competition. Junior Open From ages 7-10 with same age restrictions as above. This class is for children who HAVE won six firsts with competition. Intermediate Novice Class From ages 11 until 14 years of age who have NOT won six firsts with competition. Intermediate Open Class From ages years who HAVE won six firsts in the same class with competition. Senior Novice This class is for handlers 15yrs of age as of Dec 31 st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age who have NOT won six first placements in the same class with competition. Senior Open This class is for handlers 15yrs of age as of Dec 31 st of the year preceding the competition year and up to 18 years of age who HAVE won six first placements in the same class. A rosette will be offered for first through fourth in each class and Best Overall, a participant ribbon will be awarded to each PeeWee entrant. Suitable prizes are offered by Teddy Bear Photography. Non-Member Participation Fee a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee.
