5 ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES All dogs that have not competed prior to 1 st January 2006 must be measured before competing. Competitors must ensure that their dog is measured prior to their first competition and the dog s Agility Record Book has been signed and dated by the Measuring Officials In the following definitions of classes First Prizes or other prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed Championship Agility, Premier Agility, Open Agility or Limited Agility Shows (i.e. special classes and invitational events excepted). Only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the judge within course time will count towards grade progression. Agility classes to include contact obstacles points and Jumping classes where there are no contact obstacles. With this proviso classes are defined as follows:- Class Structure. A Class may either be held as a Graded Class or a Combined Class. A Graded Class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive Grades with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A Combined Class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results. Progression. Progression from each Grade will require one Agility win or three Jumping wins in standard classes at that grade, except that progression from Grade 5 will require 3 wins at Grade 5, one of which must be an agility class. Progression from Grade 6 will require 4 wins at Grade 6, two of which must be agility classes. Results from Combined Classes will only count towards progression from the dog s current grade. Points Progression. At the handler s discretion a dog may progress up to Grade 4 by winning 100 points at each grade, using the Agility Warrant points scheme (Regulation K3.c refers), except that there is no requirement for a minimum number of agility points. If this method of progression is selected, the handler must ensure the Show Secretary signs the dog s Agility Record Book at the first show entered at the higher grade. There is no time limit on this progression, however once a dog has progressed, it cannot return to a previous grade. Progression on points must be done prior to the closing date of entries. It is not possible to change a grade on points once the entries have closed. Grade 1 - For Owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an agility class or 3 first place in Jumping classes at Kennel Club Licensed agility shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of grade 1 are not eligible for this class. Grade 2 - Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grades 1,3,4,5,6,7, and have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 (Starters) are not eligible for this class. Grade 3 - Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 - Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or 3 first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 5 - Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or 3 first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 - Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 3 first places at Grade 5 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, one of which must have been gained in an Agility (not Jumping) Class, and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 - Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 4 first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, 2 first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes. CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES Open to all dogs having qualified to Grade 7. To consist of 2 qualifying rounds of Standard Kennel Club Classes, 1 Agility Class and 1 Jumping Class and a Final round of Agility to be held at the same Show. SPECIAL CLASSES Veteran Jumping Open to dogs aged 9 years and over on the day of competition. Dogs may not be entered in any other classes at the show. Large dogs will jump Medium height, Medium dogs will jump Small height and Small dogs will jump Micro height. This class will not contain weaves or the tyre. The Kennel Club Olympia Large Dog Agility ABC Stakes This competition is a special agility competition open to all dogs excluding Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs and any of their crosses. 6 THE KENNEL CLUB OLYMPIA LARGE DOG ABC AGILITY STAKES This competition is a special agility competition open to all dogs excluding Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs and any of their crosses. In the event of a dispute over the parentage of a dog, a decision will be left to the judge s discretion. Those dogs eligible to compete in competition for Large dogs are those measuring over 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) at the withers and open to dogs in grades 3 to 7 and judged under the Kennel Club regulations for standard classes. Competitors may enter more than one dog in a heat and may qualify more than one dog for the Semi-Finals. Handlers may qualify a maximum of two dogs for the Final which will be the highest placed dogs at the Semi-Final. Once a dog has qualified for the Semi-Final/Final, further heats may be entered for competition although any placings in these further heats will not affect the dog s eligibility for the Final/Semi-Finals. The first four previously unqualified placed dogs from each heat will go forward to the Semi-Finals at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival held annually in August, the first ten dogs from this Semi-Final will qualify for the Final at the London Olympia Christmas International Horse Show (subject to the above). A maximum of two representatives of any one breed may be invited to the Final from the Semi-Final. This decision will be at the organiser s discretion. CSJ HIGHLAND AGILITY STAKES 2014 Five heats for each height category will take place at KC registered shows in Scotland. Heats will take the form of graded or combined 6-7 agility classes held under standard KC rules and regulations. Where shows run the qualifier as a graded or combined 5-7 agility class only grade 6 or grade 7 dogs will be eligible to be placed for the final. The preliminary event and final will take place at the Scottish Game Fair at Scone on the weekend of 5 and 6 July 2014 and will each consist of an agility class judged according to KC rules and regulations. Competitors may enter more than one dog in any heat and may qualify more than one dog in any final. Once a dog has qualified for the final further heats can be entered for competition Small CSJ Highland Agility Stakes The winner or first previously unqualified dog from each of the 5 heats will go through to the final at the Game Fair. Dogs eligible to compete are those measuring 350 mm (1 foot 1¾ inches) or under at the withers and those eligible to compete in grades 6 or 7 for Small dogs. Medium CSJ Highland Agility Stakes The winner or first previously unqualified dog from each of the 5 heats will go through to the final at the Game Fair. Dogs eligible to compete are those measuring over 350 mm (1 foot 1¾ inches) and those measuring 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) or under at the withers and eligible to compete in grades 6 or 7 for Medium dogs. Large CSJ Highland Agility Stakes The first four previously unqualified dogs from each of the 5 heats will go through to the final at the Game Fair. Dogs eligible to compete are those measuring over 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) at the withers and eligible to compete in grades 6 or 7 for Large dogs Speed Limit There is a speed limit of 5mph on the whole showground including camping areas. If you exceed this speed limit you will be asked to leave the show. All dogs must be kept on the lead at all times when on the showground, including parking and camping areas unless they are competing or in designated exercise areas. Dogs in cars on hot days Your dog is vulnerable and AT RISK if left in a vehicle in high temperatures and even on days considered as slightly warm. Please take care of your dog. If your dog is found to be at risk, forcible entry to your vehicle may be necessary without liability for any damage caused

7 Camping Camping is limited and all camping requests should be received by 14 th March 2014 (postmarked). In the event of there being more applications than there are pitches a ballot will be held. For alternative sites in the area contact Biggar Tourist Centre on Camping is available Friday & Saturday nights only Camping is available from 3:00pm on Friday 2nd May, you must not arrive before this time as pitches will not be available The site should be vacated 2 hours after show closes on Sunday 4th May 2014 No arrivals after 10:00pm there is no overnight holding space available. Camping charges are 15 for weekend. (Camping Free for WDAC members working both days). All camping pitches must be pre-booked. Any unit not pre-booked and accommodated on-site will be charged at additional cost. Use of generators is strictly limited. No generators are to be used after 9pm and before 8 am. Generators are not allowed in units adjacent to the rings please mark on your booking form if you need a pitch suitable for a generator. Parking Regulations must be adhered to. A fire bucket must be situated outside each unit. Units must be parked as directed or you may be asked to move. Camping pitches are not transferable. If you are unable to use your pitch, you must notify Sara Hawkswell who will reallocate it to next person on waiting list. You will be refunded 12, providing the pitch is reallocated. Those allocated a camping pitch will be notified by post or . If your camping request is not accepted and you would like your SHOW ENTRY returned, please ensure you tick the boxes on both the entry form and camping form indicating your wish. If you do not do so, it will be assumed that you still wish to enter the show even if your request to camp on-site has been unsuccessful. Camping fees will be returned if you are not granted camping, as will your show entry fees if you have requested this on your camping form. Directions to the venue From the south and west. Leave the M74 at JUNCTION 13 (ABINGDON SERVICES). Take the A702, signposted for BIGGAR / EDINBURGH / LANARK. Follow this for 1 mile then bear right, signposted for BIGGAR / EDINBURGH. Continue on the A702 for 10 miles passing through the villages of LAMINGTON, COULTER and CAUSWAYEND. On entering the town of BIGGAR continue on the A702, through the town centre, signposted for EDINBURGH / PEEBLES. As you leave the town, the entrance to the venue is on the right, through large red gates, 150 yards past the national speed limit signs. From the north and east. From the A720 (EDINBURGH CITY BYPASS) take the LOTHIANBURN JUNCTION signposted CITY CENTRE / CARLISLE. Follow the directions at the junction for CARLISLE A702. After ½ mile, bear right at the 3-way fork in the road, following the signs for CARLISLE A702. Continue on the A702 for 23 miles, through the villages of SILVERBURN, CARLOPS, WEST LINTON and DOLPHINTON. Just before entering the town of BIGGAR, the entrance to the venue is on the left, through large red gates, between the 200-yard and 100-yard marker signs for the start of the 30MPH speed limit. Please note there is a 5mph speed limit in place at the venue This is in place for the safety of all those on site. Those exceeding the speed limit will be asked to leave the venue.

8 RULES & REGULATIONS 1) ENTRY CONDITIONS. Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B or else registration or transfer of registration must have been applied for. The registration number or authority to compete ( ATC) number will be required for each entry. 2) OVERSEAS ENTRIES. All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete before entry to the show can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 3) FEES. Amount of entry per dog per class 3.00 (Free for WDAC working members). Championship Classes ( Working WDAC members). There is no charge for NFC entry. 4) PRIZE MONEY. There will be no prize money at this show. 5) INTERNET ENTRIES Entries cannot be made via the internet. 6) REFUSAL OF ENTRIES. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. 7) PUPPIES. Only dogs of 18 calendar months of age abd over on the first day of the competition are eligible for competition at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. 8) CAPPING LEVELS - Not applicable at this show 9) NFC. Not For Competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged four calendar months and over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered with their details recorded on the entry form. There will be no entry fee for NFC dogs. 10) BITCHES IN SEASON No bitch in season is allowed to compete. 11) TREATMENT OF DOGS. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show. 12) COLLARS. Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half slip collar or leads when under test, A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted, providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar i.e. not attached by a ring. 13) APPOINTMENT OF JUDGES. Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge the Committee reserve the right to appoint another judge. 14) JUDGES DECISION. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges. 15) SPONSORSHIP. Sponsorship for this show has kindly been received from The Kennel Club and CSJ Specialist Canine Feeds 16) MARKING Kennel Club Standard marking regulations apply for all standard classes. 17) JUMP HEIGHT for special classes. In the ABC Agility stakes the height of jump obstacles will be 650mm. In the special Veteran classes (classes 14 and 57) the course will consist of jumps and tunnels only. Large dogs will compete with jumps set at medium height, Medium dogs at small height and Small dogs at micro height (450mm, 350mm and 250 mm respectively).. 18) HEIGHT LIMIT FOR DOGS. 1. Large Dogs - For dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers. 2. Medium Dogs - For dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) and 430mm (1ft 5ins) or under at the withers. 3. Small Dogs For dogs measuring 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) or under at the withers 19) JUDGES. A judge at an Agility Show cannot compete or enter for competition a dog which is recorded in their ownership or part ownership: or handle a dog at the Test at which they are judging but may enter their own dog N.F.C. for the purpose of testing the course time. Dogs will be disqualified if proved to have been handled by the scheduled judge s spouse or immediate family, or resident at the same address as the scheduled judge. 20) WITHDRAWAL OF DOGS FROM TEST. A dog shall be withdrawn from competition and removed from the Test if it is:- a) A bitch which is in season. b) Suffering from any infectious or contagious disease. c) Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent. d) Of such temperament or it is so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal e) Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing. 21) ELIGIBILITY. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the competition (i.e. 8 th April 2014) shall be counted when entering for any class. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. If a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show after the entry form to that show has been sent, it is the competitor s responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show. The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. The dog must be moved into the corresponding classes number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade, the competitor should be offered a refund of the relevant entry fees. 22) CHANGES TO ARRANGEMENTS. Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the Kennel Club. 23) CANCELLATION. In the event that the show has to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Woodside DAC will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses, on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope submitted within one month of the show date. 24) FOOD. Food shall not be carried in the hand or given to a dog in the ring 25) RERUNS Should the judge deem a rerun is required, any results and/or faults gained in the previous run must be discounted. 26) ENTRY FORMS Separate entry forms must be completed by each owner and must be signed by the owner or his authorised agent with provisions specified thereon. Entry forms must be accompanied by the appropriate fees. It is the responsibility of the owner / competitor to ensure that the entry form is filled out correctly. No refunds will be given in the case of incorrectly completed entry forms being submitted. 27) FREE PASSES Not Applicable 28) COMPETITION OF DOGS SUFFERING FROM CONTAGIOUS OR INFECTIOUS DISEASE. No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the competition may compete. Competitors infringing the Regulation will be liable to be fined and/ or dealt with under Kennel Club Rule A42. 29) CLASSES It is the competitor s responsibility to be available for their class and running order. Competitors must run as close to their running order as possible. Failure to do so may be reported to the KennelClub. In Championship classes competitors must run in exact running order as specified in the Regulations. 30) ANIMALS IN EVENT No animal other than one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except dogs registered to assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. However, at the discretion of the show society, a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the show, with the proviso that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control at all times. 31) PAY ON THE DAY. A pay on the day class will be held if time permits. 32) PRACTICE RING A practice ring may be available for dogs entered for competition at the show, if space allows. The ring will be supervised by a responsible adult with agility knowledge. 33) WELFARE OF DOGS A competitor whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met and should not knowingly put their dogs health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.. 34) LOSS OR DAMAGES. WDAC will accept no responsibility for loss, damage or whatsoever to person, dogs or property at this show. 35) BRIEFING. A briefing of competitors will be held 15 minutes to the start of each class. Competitors will be allowed to walk the course without the dog. 36) CLOSING CLASSES Dogs will not be received for competition after a class has been declared closed

A ballot will take place if the camping is over subscribed. If you are unsuccessful in your application for camping you will be notified by phone or by 21 st March 2014 Those allocated a camping pitch will be sent a camping pass by or post. (A cheque, for camping only, must be enclosed with your camping form). If your camping request is not accepted and you would also like your show entry returned, please ensure you tick the boxes on both the entry form and this camping form indicating your wish. If you do not tick the box it will be assumed that you still wish to enter the show even if your request to camp on-site has been unsuccessful. Camping fees will be returned if you are not granted camping. Camping is available Friday & Saturday nights only Camping is available from 3:00pm on Friday 2rd May, you must not arrive before this time as pitches will not be available The site should be vacated 2 hours after show closes on Sunday 4th May 2014 No arrivals after 10:00pm. No overnight parking available. Camping charges are 15 for weekend. All camping pitches must be pre-booked. Any unit not pre-booked and accommodated on-site will be charged at additional cost. Use of generators is strictly limited. No generators are to be used after 9pm and before 8 am. Generators are not allowed in units adjacent to the rings Parking Regulations must be adhered to. A fire bucket must be situated outside each unit. Units must be parked as directed or you may be asked to move. Camping pitches are not transferable. If you are unable to use your pitch, you must notify Sara Hawkswell who will reallocate it to next person on waiting list. You will be refunded 12, providing the pitch is reallocated.
