1 The Kennel Club of Jersey Autumn Open Show Saturday, September 29 th, 2018 (359 class) My thanks to the committee of the club for the invitation to judge this show held at The Royal Jersey Showground. The quality of exhibits throughout was high with some exciting youngsters coming through & I am sure that I will hear more of them in the coming year. Once again, thank you to the committee for their hospitality & to my hard working steward Philippa for her support. Hound Group: Afghan Hound Sue Pollock-Yule (Judge) Open Dog: Mottershaw & Officer s Jsy Ch Schumakayas A Perfect Match for Elangeni (Imp Deu) 8 yr old male of proud bearing- good length of head & neck. Correct topline & croup. Excellent profile movement never moving overfast- keeping his outline at all times. BOB & G4. Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) Open Dog: Marett s Limier Didier at Gayteckels, Pd H 9 yr old male in hard working condition- looked ready to go all day. Well laid shoulder & elbow placement. Nice spring of rib & muscled quartersmoved with drive. BOB & G3. Whippets: Limit D/B: Officer s Eeri Silver Lining 2 yr old bitch- feminine head & expression. Shapely & moved true when not pulling to one side. Open Dog: Mottershaw s Eeri Wish Upon A Star at Elangeni. Litter brother to above & identical colour & condtruction. More confident than his sister & moved out freely- in hard muscular condition. Open Bitch: 1) Officer s Eeri Secret Love. Light brindle, another litter mate perfectly balanced with a beautiful head & neck, excellent forehand & topline. Nice width of croup & 2 nd thigh with a real daisy cutting action. Impressed enough to go BOB, G1 & RBIS. 2) Mottershaw & Officer s Barnesmore Billie Jean for Eeri Dachshund Mini S/H Limit D/B: Coleman s Oniasid Melisade Ygnite. A real sweetie- red girl in gleaming coat- correct size but carrying too much weight which pegged back her future classes. Despite this she moved truelovely head & overall shape- just slim her & she will improve no end. BOB. Dachshund Mini L/H Limit D/B: Le Couillard s Ditrois Autumn Rhythm. 16 mths old black & tan bitch. Pretty head, nice size, level topline & well bent stifle- just a little stuffy over the withers but moved out quite nicelystill a little immature. BOB.

2 Saluki Open Dog: Marhall s Ulmarra Bombay (Imp Ire) JUN, DIP JUN CH. 2 yr old grizzle boy, very nice head & neck- straight front 7 excellent bone & feet. In hard muscular condition, well ribbed with good width over loin & croup. Moved true enough but would like better hind extension. BOB. Dachshund L/H Open Dog: Walker s Africandawns Night Lement. 3yr old red- beautiful masculine head- good length of neck into well laid shoulder & with elbows well under him. Correct depth of keel- not overdonefirm topline & nice width of quarters. Moved very smoothly. BOB & G2. Gundog Group Retriever (Golden) Limit D/B: 1) Bouchere s Tenfield Baileys Bay. Strongly built 2 yr old, well boned with tight feet. Correct depth & spring of rib, level topline, well set tail & moved true. BOB. 2) Evans Mardagold Diamond Geezer. Open Bitch: Evans Fromeside Valentines Girl of Mardagold. 4 yr old bitch of lovely type. Feminine head, kind expression & well constructed all through. Moved very soundly, just not quite got her figure back yet after a litter. Retriever (Labrador) Limit D/B: Steeves Carpenny Rolo. A few days out of puppy & full of energy. Good head with alert expression. Very good all over confirmation giving sound movement- just needs to settle, as he did, as the day wore on. BOB. Spaniel (American Cocker) Open Dog: Houghton & Le Gresley s Fielgar Flyin The Flag. Very stylish 3 yr old. Lovely head & eye, good length of neck, clean shoulder & well sprung ribs. Moved out freely with good drive keeping his topline at all times. BOB & G2. Spaniel (Cocker) Limit D/B: White s Granrose Golden Ruby Sands. Most attractive yearling bitch. Good neck & topline with elbows well under body. Good modrate spring of rib & hind angulation, a true & merry mover. Open Dog: 1) White s Granrose Golden Chance. Litter brother to above & same remarks apply- very much peas in a pod- just a masculine version. Moved out freely. 2) Moulin s Majikcharms Star Gazer. Open Bitch: White s Crystal Sunrise at Granrose. 4 yr old in the same mould as last 2 winners. Lovely head, dark eye, clean neck & shoulder. Very good topline & tailset. Well bent stifle- moved very happily & freely on good bone & feet. BOB & G1. Spaniel (English Springer)

3 Puppy: Cox s Petranella Fleur de Lily avec Tiroen. 6 mth liver/white baby girl- having a ball at her first show. Appealing feminine head- ex forehand, tight feet & nicely angulated fore & aft- got bored at the end but is shaping up nicely. BP, PG1 & RBPIS. Open Dog: Cox s Ned Ch Petranella Jerseyboy at Tiroen, Pd H. 4 yr old liver & white- very well put together & balanced all through. Very good front, well bodied with strong, nicely angulated quarters. Movement was free with lots of drive. BOB & G4. Spaniel (Field) Open Bitch: Ward s Elgert Lady Marmalade at Simbarra. 2 yr old bitch, nicely presented with good lay of shoulder. Correct length to height, firm topline, croup & quarters. Moved steadily- true fore & aft with a nice profile on the move. BOB & G3. Terrier Group Cesky Terrier Limit D/B: Marett s Gayteckels Sister Act. 2 yr old bitch of good make & shape. Nice length of head, strong jaw, clean neck & correct depth of chest- broad muscular hams- moved very soundly. Open Dog: 1) Marett s Gayteckels Bak In The Abbott. 3 yr old with very good muscle tone giving him a sculpted look. Good length of neck, clean wither, firm topline, broad croup- moved ok 2) Marett s Idefix Day Break at Gayteckels. Open Bitch: Marett s Gayteckels Bottoms Up. 2 ½ yr old with good head, neat well carried ears, Good neck & forehand. Well ribbed back with nicely muscled quarters. Moved out well to beat the boy for BOB & G2. Irish Terrier Open Bitch: 1) Kucza s Int Ch Brazan Amber Pageant. Two very nice bitches of similar pattern. 1 st just had the edge in maturity. Good length of head, punishing jaw, excellent front- enough depth, firm short back with moderately angulated quarters. Moved soundly to go BOB & G1. 2) Kucza s Int Ch Amberville Fortune Cookie. Pastoral Group Collie (Rough) Open Bitch: Allen s Brooklynson Pixie Lott with Ribans. Sable bitch- sweet expression, well laid shoulder with good return of elbow. Strong quarters, nicely angulated & moved soundly. BOB & G2. German Shepherd: Open Dog: Bennett s Jasandor Runestone Tahro. Nearly 5 yr old, richly pigmented. Good size 7 scope with enough depth of chest. Nice bone & feet but felt he really wanted to be elsewhere. BOB. Shetland Sheepdog

4 Puppy D/B: Allen s Milesend Movie Star for Ribans. 7 mths old sable bitch with the sweetest of expressions. Dark eye & well set ears. Neck well set into withers, straight front & good width of quarters. Showed herself to advantage, moving very true, BP, PG1 & BPIS. Limit D/B (4)1) Allen s Milesend Black Ink for Ribans. 2 yr old bitch, good head 7 ear carriage- carried herself well especially in profile movement & was true fore 7 aft. 2) Poignand s Stoneycombe Star Shimmer 3) Allen s Tooralie s Magic Flute for Ribans. Open Dog: 1) Allen s Rannerdale Lord Tobias with Ribans. Eye catching sable who showed himself to perfection. Lovely head & eye-using his ears always. Nice arch to his neck set into well laid shoulder- correct front elbow placement-scored in profile & overall balance. Looked a picture on the move. BOB, G1. 2) Johnson s Mohnesee Dance With Me at Valdug 3) Boschat s Mohnesee Noir Magic Open Bitch: 1) Allen s Rannerdale Sophistication with Ribans. Quality bitch of lovely type- alert stance with straight front. So well constructed all through & really scored in profile movement, true both ways. 2) Allen s Milesend Movie Star for Ribans 3) Allen s Rannerdale Lady of Grace with Ribans. Toy Group Japanese Chin Open Dog: Curwood s Auralea Koko. 3 yr old black & white of smart appearance- compact with fine bone. Good topline & turn of stifle. Moved very nicely & in fine coat. BOB & G2. Papillon Limit D/B: Church & Cooper s Invanse A Touch of Dutch. Yearling bitch, nicely marked. Good neck & topline of correct length & tailset. Long silky coat, well balanced & moved freely. BOB. Open Dog: Church s Up And Down Veni Vidi Vici with Invanse. As the sire of above he has very much the same attributes. Correct skull & muzzle ratio. Medium dark eye. Good front & feet & light easy movement. Little to choose between them. Pekingese Open Dog: Michel s Pekehuis Sorceror at Ksarina. 4yr old put down in excellent coat & condition. Good head with broad skull & round dark eye. Compact body with well sprung ribs. Moved well enough here but was affected by the heat later on. BOB & G4. Pomeranian Limit D/B: Alsford s Thelbern My Time to Shine. Just 2 week out of puppy & already showing superstar status. Lovely foxy head with excellent bite. Good front & ribcage with moderately angled quarters. Lively brisk mover, very promising. BOB & G3.

5 Australian Silky Terrier Open Dog: Walker s Brookemur Chasin Pavements at Petwalk. Good head of moderate length, flat skull & strong jaw. Nicely arched neck & well laid shoulder. Good ribcage & quarters. Moved out smartly for BOB & G1. Working Group Boxer Open Dog: Bayes Docrema Don Giovanni. 4yr old brindle boy, masculine head on arched muscular neck. Well developed forechest with deep, well sprung ribcage. Strong topline & quarters. Moved powerfully on good bone & feet. BOB & G3. Great Dane Open Bitch: Le Claire s Dainoak Absolutely Lovely & she is! 23 month old blue- so correct in every way. Super head with correct eye colour- intelligent kind expression- cleanly arched neck & well laid shoulder with good return of upper arm. Flows from withers so smoothly to croup & moderately angulated quarters. Moved freely & true. A hard decision between her & the Leo in the Group. BOB & G2. Leonberger Limit D/B: Hutchinson & Lester s Dacfolke Karmakhamleon Dejerri. Gorgeous 15 mth old male of lovely type- dark eye & kind expression. Nicely arched neck set cleanly into the withers. Elbows close to sides with enough depth & spring of rib. Strong back & croup & well set tail. Full of enthusiasm which showed in powerful ground covering movement. For such a big & quite young dog he didn t put a foot wrong. BOB & pushed hard by the beautiful Dane, G1 & BIS. A.V. Imported Breed Register (Working) Limit D/B: Sharrock s Edison-Eiger Vom Rickental- Entlebucher Mountain Dog. Yearling dog, well proportioned with good front 7 forehand. Good bone & substance, tight feet & muscular quarters. Moved with good drive, just needs to relax & settle. B.IMP Working & G4. Utility Group Bulldog Limit D/B: 1) Pestana & Chapman s Chunkabulls Grey Wind. 18 mth male with strong head & underjaw. Thick arched neck, deep brisket & well sprung ribs, good tuck up & well muscled thighs. Excellent bone & in hard condition with tight feet. 2) Rousseau s Shiloh Prima Donna at Dimkas. Slightly younger bitch with a beautiful head & expression not auite as mature or as in hard muscular condition as winner but has plenty of time. Lhasa Apso Limit D/B: 1) Journeaux s Petwalk Crème De La Crème. Very pretty bitch. Nice head well carried on nicely arched neck flowing smoothly into topline. Well ribbed back with good bend of stifle & moved out freely.

6 Open Bitch: Walker s Multi Ch Petwalk Irresistable. Older bitch of similar type to above with sound overall construction. Put down in lovely coat & condition. Moved out freely, keeping her profile at all times. BOB & G1. Shih Tzu Open Bitch: Cooper s Forepaws Style in Motion. Yearling black & white girl with typical head & eye. Body sturdy & well proportioned though she doesn t need to carry any more weight. Nice front & quarters giving plenty of drive. BOB & G3. Tibetan Terrier Limit D/B: Biles Majikcharms Love in a Mist. 17 mths black bitch, good head, well proportioned straight front & short coupled. Good forechest & second thighs & correct substance throughoutwent well. BOB & G4.
