TEST: Dark Green ribbons will be awarded to all hounds successfully completing either the AKC Junior Courser or Qualified Courser Test STAKES & CLASSES OFFERED: OPEN STAKE: Any eligible Sighthound that has an AKC Junior Courser suffix (JC), American Sighthound Field Association (ASFA) Field Championship or Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) Field Championship. Championship points will be awarded. Hounds who have earned an AKC Field Championship are not eligible to enter Open. SPECAL STAKE: Open to all hounds who have earned their AKC Field Championship. LCX points will be awarded. VETERAN: Open to all hounds eligible to enter Open or Special stakes and meet the age requirement for a veteran as established by the breed parent club. Championship or LCX points will be awarded. SNGLES STAKE: Open to all breeds that are approved to participate in AKC Lure Coursing Events. Hounds will run alone in order of random draw. Placements are determined by the combined preliminary and final course scores. DRECTONS TO FELD From the North: From nterstate 70 in Frederick, MD take Route 340/15 south bear onto 15S at the split. Leesburg is 24 miles, Oatlands is 6 miles south of Leesburg. The turn is BEFORE Oatlands. Watch for coursing signs. Turn LEFT on to Gap Road and turn right on the access road to the field. From Washington Beltway take either Route 7 or Dulles Greenway west to Leesburg bypass, south to Route 15 South exit, follow direction above. Directions from the South: Follow Route 15 North toward Leesburg, Oatlands is on the right. Go past the main entrance to Oatlands. Turn RGHT on the first road, Gap Road. This is a narrow dirt road. Turn right on the access road to the field. Please note that there is a driveway before Gap Road from the south. This is the caretaker s drive and is not maintained. THE MAN GATE DOES NOT OPEN UNTL 9:00 AM. N THE MORNNGS AND YOU WLL NEED TO ENTER FROM GAP ROAD. BEST N FELD WLL BE OFFERED talian Greyhounds, Portugese Podengo Pequenos and FSS breeds are not eligible to compete for Best in Field.

3 Eligible Breeds and Registry. Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Borzois, Greyhounds, bizan Hounds, rish Wolfhounds, talian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Portugese Podengo Pequenos, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, and Whippets that are one year of age or older, that have been registered with The American Kennel Club, a foreign registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration and is registered with that registry, or that have been granted an ndefinite Listing Privilege (LP) or Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL), are eligible to participate in lure coursing tests and trials and be awarded the prefix title of Field Champion and the suffix titles of Junior Courser, Senior Courser or Master Courser. Those sighthounds enrolled in AKC s Foundation Stock Service (FSS) which are eligible to compete in Conformation Miscellaneous class are eligible to compete in lure coursing tests and trials and be awarded the titles of Junior Courser, Senior Courser or Master Courser and Qualified Courser. Current breeds are Azawakhs, Cirnechi dell Etna, Norrbottenspets, Peruvian nca Orchids, Portugese Podengos (Medio and Grande), Sloughis, and Thai Ridgebacks. Spayed or neutered hounds are eligible to participate. Monorchid and cryptorchid hounds are ineligible to participate. Hounds may not be entered as registration or LP/PAL pending. Breed disqualifications apply. CONDTONS OF ENTRY Hounds must be one year of age or older on the day of the trial. All hounds will run twice, in trios if possible or braces unless excused, dismissed or disqualified. Hounds not present at the time of roll call will be scratched after a 5-minute grace period. Bitches in season and lame hounds will be excused (with entry refunded). All hounds will be examined at inspection for breed disqualifications. Spayed or neutered hounds, without breed disqualifications, may be entered. The lure will consist of plastic strips. Only the Lure Operator, Huntmaster, Judges and Handlers of the hounds running in the course in progress will be permitted near the lure machine. The members of the Coursing Hounds Association of the Mid-Potomac reserve the right to alter the course plan as required by weather and/or field conditions on the day of the trial. Any person, upon reasonable complaint, be asked to leave the grounds of the field trial by the Field Committee and may be disciplined by the AKC. Children must be under control of their parent(s) or guardian(s) at all times. Veterinarian will be on call. A $5.00 fine will be assessed on the owner or handler of any hound loose on the field but not competing in the course in progress. Hounds who have been received a disqualification at an AKC event are ineligible to compete until recertified. A hound who has received two dismissals in 6 trials is considered disqualified and will need to meet requalification requirements before competing. 4 FELD The field has wooden farm fencing. Please bring your own shade and water. CERTFCATON Certifications will be offered on Saturday only after completion of the trial F weather, equipment, daylight, and judges permit. The cost is $10.00 per dog. Hound certification will NOT be offered on Sunday. PRACTCE Will be held after the JC/QC Test, Saturday only after certifications, if weather, equipment and daylight permit. Practice is $3 per dog. Griffith * Foundation Stock Services breeds have been grouped together in the judging assignments. Each breed will be judged individually by the assigned judge each day. JUNOR COURSER AND QUALFED COURSER TEST JC and QC Tests will be offered on both days 30 minutes after Best in Field. Open to all eligible sighthounds at least 12 months of age. A hound running alone shall receive certification from a Judge on one date, and a second certification from a different Judge on a later date, stating that the hound completed a 600 yard course with a minimum of four (4) turns. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption. A hound (Qualifying Hound) running with another hound of the same breed (Testing Hound) or another breed with a similar running style, shall receive certification from a licensed judge. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption, sufficiently course the lure and not course the Testing Hound. The judge will certify that the Qualifying Hound ran cleanly and did not appear to present a hazard to the Testing Hound at any point in the qualifying course. This certificate must be submitted to the host club with the hound s first entry in the Open Stake. Handlers presenting the Qualifying Hound are responsible for providing the Testing Hound for the qualifying course..
