5 Auditor Training Animal Welfare Certification & Auditing AUS MEAT Animal Welfare Auditors Course Developed in Conjunction with MINTRAC Available to Internal, External, and Regulatory Auditors Fulfils training requirement to apply for AAWCS Auditor AAWCS Auditor Registration Approved Auditor Course/Training Exemplar Global Registered Auditor Evidence of audits (2) and a skills assessment for each species Practical understanding of the Meat Processing Industry and relevant Technologies Refer Registration Protocol for Approval of Auditors.

14 Scoring Criteria All Species Stunning Efficacy 95% must be effectively stunned first attempt Vocalisation Beef 3% no more than 3% vocalisation permitted Pigs 10% no more than 10% vocalisation permitted Sheep N/A Bleed Rail Insensibility 100% must be insensible on bleed rail Slipping 3% no more than 3% slipping permitted Falling 1% no more than 1% falling permitted Electric Goad Use 25% no more than 25% can be goaded Why do we score these points?

15 Measuring Criteria All Species Stunning Efficacy Number of times stunning is attempted Insurance Shots Vocalisation Only scored in Crowd pen, lead up and Knocking Box Only scored if caused by Mechanical or human act Bleed Rail Insensibility Any Sensibility on Bleed Rail is automatic failure Performing any operations on a sensible Animal is automatic failure Slipping Animal Loses footing Animal goes down on a knee, body does not touch ground Not scored if the result of other animals actions

16 Measuring Criteria All Species Falling Loses upright body position any part of body other than limb touch's ground Electric Goad If it touches the animal its scored multiple goads on a single animal is scored as one (1) Audit failure if goad touch's a sensitive area (Head, Anus, Testicles, Penis, Udder, Vulva)
