He was moved on to a dry lot with plenty of grass hay, twice daily plain feeds (oaten chaff, copra and linseed meal) along with *Premium MVA, *ShapeUp (pure amino acids with a pre -biotic), XtraCal and salt. It took around 2 months to get Basil looking great and the improvement in his hooves after only nine weeks between photos and will continue to improve over the next 12 months. 3 CUSTOMER FEEDBACK GREENPET ESSENTIALS Our four year old cat Tigga, had been suffering from a scaly itchy skin. It started at the back near her tail and gradually was spreading to the rest of her body. She would groom herself constantly to the point of having daily hairball throw ups. None of our other cats (we have 4 others) had the problem. She is on natural diet of various raw fresh meat. I do not like to give the pharmaceutical flea treatment. 4 KEEP YOUR PETS COOL THIS SUMMER! Summer is here and things are hotting up all over the country and we need to make sure our pets are well looked after to survive the heat. Did you know your pet doesn't sweat? Unlike humans who have sweat glands all over their bodies to regulate their body temperature, dogs have them only on their nose and pads of their feet. The main way your dog can reduce his body temperature is by panting and breathing. Dogs have a higher body temperature than humans to begin with, so with their inefficient ability to cool down, we really need to ensure they are looked after during these hot spells. Top tips to keep your pet cool and safe during a hot summer Make sure your pet has plenty of cool fresh clean water at all times Exercise your dog in the early morning or evening - do not over exercise NEVER leave your pet in a parked car. Vehicles become a furnace quickly and can cause fatal heatstroke even with windows down Play in the sprinkler with your dog to cool down Take your dog for a swim - ensure you dog is a confident swimmer, not all dogs know how to swim! Avoid hot pavements when walking your pet as you can burn their paws, and being closer to the ground they can overheat rapidly Feed your dog a pet ice block using fresh raw meat or raw hide The safest thing is to keep your pet inside on hot days - especially if your pet is old, overweight or unwell Use frozen plastic bottles of water for pets to lie around or lie on to keep cool Signs of overheating: Excessive panting, high body temperature, increased heart rate, weakness, collapsing, seizures, drooling, diarrhoea and vomiting.
