Downloaded from: justpaste.it/grinkulusprime The basic idea is this, you dumb motherfucker: About two centuries have passed since the Tower appeared, and the world has remained in fear and awe of its terrible majesty. Magic has come upon an unsuspecting world, corrupting all in its wake. The Tower appears suddenly, and the scars it has made upon the land have manifested in horrific monsters. The living and dead alike have fallen under its thrall. Those freed from its grasp, or else given a lighter dose of its evil power, have found themselves capable of great and terrible feats. These have manifested in reclusive covens and death-cults that revel in the origin of their power, as well as religious institutions that tout their newfound abilities as the favor of once-distant gods. The line between the blessed and accursed, ascension and execution, is thin and fluid, manipulated by the caprices of the inquisitors and magistrates. Human - Adaptable and well-rounded, humans are middle-of-the-road in terms of physical ability and magical aptitude. Humans are generally relegated to the Isle of Silver, but many travel abroad for resources or to seek their fortune. Humans can be found in nearly any environment across the world, and enterprising merchants have been said to trade with the stone orcs underground. Humans are aristocratic and fiercely nationalistic, distrustful of most other peoples and often very hesitant and businesslike in trading with them. Racials: +2 to any one ability, +1 (+1/8 levels) racial bonus to any one skill. +1 racial bonus to attack rolls, armor class, or any one saving throw.. Bonus Feats: Any Elf - Inherently lighter than humans or dwarves, the elves of the deep desert are known for their agility and curiously fae-like abilities. Elves are about as tall as humans, tend to be less physically imposing, with their defining traits being narrow faces and pointed ears. Elves tend to have red or brown hair, and tend to be one of the more populous races of elves outside of their natural habitat. When one refers to 'elves,' most people will assume these are the ones you're talking about. Eschewing the tower's corrupt magic, they observe the same practice as humans of executing anyone found to be magically sensitive. Elves are similar to humans in outlook, inwardly-focused and intent on the preservation of their byzantine empire. They are not inherently distrustful of any race and tend to be very diplomatic toward most, but are very slow to accept or allow the integration of other races into their cities or settlements. They are a practical people, and do not place much stock in nobility. They, like the humans, have a strong sense of reverence for their religious leaders. Racials: +2 Dex, +2 Con, -2 Str. +1 (+1/8 level) racial bonus to Nature. Ghostwise Sight, 45 ft. Bonus Feats: Breakneck Pace, By Will Sustained, Recon White Elf - Reclusive, xenophobic, and highly intelligent, these elves are shunned and often killed on sight by the elven empire due to their unusually high number of magic users. Most work in the shadows of elven society, joining and often leading the death-cults which worship the tower's demonic influence, seeking to use it as their own. White elves tend to be paler and more scrawny than most other races, and tend to have

very dark hair. It is suggested that they are unnatural, and exist solely as a result of the Tower's influence. White elves are not widely known about, and they tend to use this to their advantage. Many people outside of the elven empire have no means of distinguishing them from normal elves, and only the most knowledgeable inquisitors can root them out easily. White elves are often wickedly intelligent and have a very strong propensity toward magic, which they generally believe to be a sort of birthright. They have a very low opinion of other races, considering most to be bloodthirsty brutes. White elves have no established society, and often find a home in covens of heretics. Racials: +2 Int, +2 dex, -2str. +1 (+1/8 levels) racial bonus to any knowledge skill, Darkvision 45 ft. Bonus Feats: Cloaked Spellcasting, Telekinetic Adept, Summon Mote Hill Orcs - Hill Orcs were once a loosely-affiliated band of tribes presided over by a warlord, whose name has been lost to time. Hill orcs have broad shoulders and tend to hunch a little when they stand. Their jaws are also fairly wide, and often rather square, with pointy teeth that never seem to go straight. Most hill orcs have a good foot of height above the average human. They tend to have bright green skin, and almost never have hair on their head. The inception of the Tower meant the destruction of the dwarven peoples, and the hill orcs' love of looting has brought them into a standard of living comparable to most other sapients. Hill orcs are still widely distrusted across the land, with many well-armed raiding parties still existing alongside legitimate merchants and travelers. Most hill orc settlements and cities are open to travelers, but are as wary of human inquisitors and would-be heroes. Much of hill orc technology is looted from the remains of dwarven cities, and they have a surprising aptitude for using it While they have a propensity toward violence and physical activity, many hill orcs have become successful merchants. The most successful have come to preside over sections of hill orc civilization, and are considered some of the wealthiest people in the land. Many hill orcs balance their brutal nature with vicious cunning, and make for excellent mercenaries. Racials: +2 Str, +2 Con, -2 Cha. +1(+1/8 levels) racial bonus any one skill, +1 Armor Class Bonus Feats: Reckless Strike, To Iron Married, Troubleshooter, Stone orcs - Stone orcs are a variant of hill orcs, and most of them have a skin tone ranging closer to light grey, though it darkens as they age. Stone orcs are physically similar to hill orcs, though they tend to be a little shorter and stockier, as well as having larger eyes with wider pupils. Even those who have been wandering the world above for a while tend to be sensitive to bright lights. Very few stone orcs have the capacity for magic. Stone orcs seem to be even more elusive than the shunned white elves, with many living their entire lives in vast underground cities. Many incursions by and against stone orcs for valuable mineral veins have occurred over the years, and sparse few settlements have opened their doors to travelers and traders. Very few stone orcs leave their homes voluntarily; most of the stone orcs wandering the upworld are either severe criminals or fugitives. Racials: +2con, +2dex, -2wis. Darkvision. +1 Armor Class Bonus Feats: Truly Bad People, The Earth Cracks, Sinister Sinews,

Dwarf - Dwarves uncorrupted by the inception of the Tower are few and far between. Standing around four feet in height, they are stocky bundles of muscle, gristle, and beard that can put the hardiest human to shame. Facial hair is considered the most prominent sign of virility and strength among the dwarves, irrespective of sex. Females tend to have rounder faces and straighter beards, where males often have craggy, stonier faces and broader beards. Most dwarves were enslaved after the arrival of the Tower, and those few who survive do so on a knife-edge. Dwarves are widely distrusted, and no uncorrupted dwarven settlements currently exist. Most settlements have been utterly destroyed and looted by hill orcs, whom dwarves have come to despise for this reason. Thus, many dwarves live out on their own as hermits or wanderers, wary of human inquisitors or overzealous bounty hunters. Dwarven booze is second only to Orkvaar brews, and even then there's plenty of debate and competition between the two. Racials: +2 Str, +2 Dex, -2 Int, +1(+1/8 levels) to athletics skill, +1 armor class Bonus feats: Reaver, Simply Smashing, Livers Need Not Apply Goblin - Twitchy, ugly, and ambitious, goblins are believed to be malformed hill orcs. Their origins are not entirely clear, however, though their high capacity for magical ability has led many to suspect that they are a result of the Tower's arrival. Goblins stand about four feet in height, tend to be green or khaki in coloration, with unusually large ears and pointed noses. Their chins tend to be similarly pointy, and their teeth are larger and thicker than those of hill orcs. Their bodies are often short and stocky or thin and bony, and most are built for agility. Goblins, like hill orcs, are usually bald. Goblins live in tiny villages dotted across the globe, which often serve as stop-overs for travelers. Much of their technology and architecture, like hill orcs, is based off of looted and lost dwarven technology. Many form scrap-constructed shantytowns in caves, often the top of ancient dwarven mining shafts. Racials: +2 Dex, 30 ft. movement speed, +1 to attack rolls Size: Small Bonus feats: Breakneck Pace, Exit Stage Left, The Bigger They Are, Ogre - Like goblins, ogres are considered a derivative of orcs, albeit more distant than goblins or having less to do with the Tower's corruption. Ogres do not generally tend to believe this themselves, but this is one of the very few things you can get two ogres to agree on. Ogres stand on par with trolls in terms of their size and build, but are less physically power and more apparently sentient. Like orcs, ogres are green, though they tend towards much murkier, darker shades. This may have to do with where they make their habitat, favoring swamps and marshes above all else. Ogres tend to have bulkier bodies, and tend to store a fair amount of fat thereupon. Much of their body tends to be thick as a result including, most distressingly, their fingers, which makes fine manipulation of human-sized objects very difficult. Ogres also do not appear to have external ears. Their features are broad, and they tend to have flat, upturned noses and beady eyes. Ogres tend to smell strongly of onions, a staple of their diet, and this smell often precedes the appearance of a raging ogre, sometimes by miles. Ogres do not have an established society, and are fiercely solitary creatures unless circumstance forces otherwise. Ogres reproduce sexually, but only form families until the adolescent years of their offspring, at which point they are all shooed off the domain of whichever parent had allowed the others in. Ogres tend to learn the common tongue during this time. Ogres no more tolerate the presence of other ogres than they do the smaller people, preferring, if anything, the company of nature, with whom some have a strong connection. Most, however, like their privacy.

Racials: +2 Con +2w Wis -2 Cha. +1 Armor Class. +1 Fortitude Saves Feats: Mighty Smash, Towering, Optimistic Viscera Orkvaar - Orkvaar resemble humans in many ways, though they tend to grow noticeably taller, up to twice the size of an adult human male in more extreme cases, usually averaging around eight or nine feet. Orkvaar tend to be muscular and lanky, though there are plenty who prefer swiftness to brute force and are not so overtly muscled. Unlike dwarves, only Orkvaar males seem to have a propensity toward facial hair, with many beginning their sizable and impressive beards as early as nine years of age. Most humanoid races have a history with the Orkvaar people, and for most this history is as bitter as it is bloody. Once primarily dwelling on massive ships, Orkvaar incursion onto the mainland in pursuit of loot and glory cost uncounted lives. Respected by warriors and feared by citizenry, it is only recently that Orkvaar have been allowed peaceful passage amongst any sapient race. The arrival of the Tower refocused the attention of the Orkvaar; seeing the ruin it brought to the dwarves, a race the Orkvaar still hold in high regard, it was immediately considered to be a much worthier target. An uneasy truce has been maintained over the course of the last century, and the martial prowess of the Orkvaar is at least somewhat on the side of the civilized races. Orkvaar alcohol is strong, and fatal in even more moderate concentrations for most smaller races. Dwarves are the exception to this rule, with some even having the capacity to outdrink an Orkvaar. Racials: +2 Str, +2 Wis -2 Cha. +1 Armor Class +1 attack rolls Bonus Feats: And My Axe!, Livers Need Not Apply, Rune Magic, Barbarian - Barbarians are humanoids that are typically born from unities between humans and dwarves, humans and orkvaar, or dwarves and orkvaar, or else are descended from unities past, the latter being the least common case. They often get the best of both worlds- being strong, stout, and very often adaptable. Drawing from two sets of hardy immune systems, barbarians rarely get sick. However, they often live short lives. Skeletal problems start to set in at around fifty or sixty, and many barbarians that do not die in battle become completely immobile before they get the chance. Some lucky few will live beyond that. Barbarians are spread out throughout a great many settlements across the world, integrated into most sapient societies and prized as mercenaries, soldiers, and hunters for their physical ability. Barbarians often become paragons of their deity of choice, able to wield divine powers with a surprising ease. It is theorized by some that they are more resilient against the corrupting power of magic. Racials: +2 to any one ability, +1 Armor Class, +1(+1/8 levels) Physical Skills Bonus Feats: The Terrible Swift Lash, Cataphract, Wake Troll - Though humanoid in appearance, trolls are not generally considered sapient. They understand some of the common tongue, but most are unable to speak more than a few simple words. However, adventuring parties may pick up the more intelligent (or, at any rate, more reasonable) members of trollkind. This happens by circumstance more often than not, but to ally with a troll is to side with a powerful wall of meat and muscle that knows little of fear or pain. Trolls are largely solitary creatures that stand eight to nine feet in height, just beating out the average Orkvaar. They have bulky torsoes which are usually long and thin, or stout and pudgy. Trolls have long, thin arms and fingers, which end in thick rending claws. Their legs are short and muscular, with broad feet having anywhere from two to four stubby toes. Trolls can either have goblinesque heads with ponted chins, long ears, wide eyes, and a large, lipless mouth, or else a lump-like knob of flesh that juts forward from in between its shoulders. This knob of flesh always has a mouth, but may not have eyes or ears. Trolls often live in caves, with some spending their entire lives completely away from

the sun. Racials: +2 Str, +2 Con, -2 Int, Tremorsense 45 ft., +1(+1/8 levels) Physical Skill (choose one) Bonus Feats: Truly Bad People, Three Body Collision, Slow and Steady Troll Claws - Melee, range [Melee] [Brutal] [Traumatizing][Scything] Birdman - Widely distrusted, often outright hated, birdmen have nevertheless managed to eke out an existence in the shadows of society. Birdmen are frail, light, and faster than elves or goblins. Their bodies are deceptively emaciated in appearance, and their fingers have an extra segment and end in rounded, clawlike tips. Their heads are, perhaps, their most unsettling and the one that is hardest for them to conceal, with a spherical skull and a large, bony nose that resembles a beak. Beneath this is a lipless mouth, often with very misshapen teeth. Their eyes are perfectly circular, and rise up from the skull like craters. Birdmen occasionally manage to find their homes in ghettoes, away from the eyes of the law, and many end up in covens with white elves. Some live out in the wilderness, and reports of entire towns amongst the treetops are commonplace. Some birdmen can fly, and their wings are often as wasted in appearance as the rest of them, and fold close to their backs. Birdmen have an average capacity for magic, and many tend toward ranged weaponry, and all birdmen can use their beaks as natural weapons. Racials: +4 Dex, -2 Con, 35 ft. movement speed, +1 Saving Throws (Reflex) Bonus Feats: Wings of War, The Sun Grows Dim, Words of Power, Birdman Beak - Melee, range [Melee] [Reacting] [Brutal 2]
