56 Productieprocess - Fabrication The first step is to cut the fabric in the right shape and with the right measurements. After the model and size is chosen, the laserguided computer will cut the fabric. Then, a thin layer of glue is added to the frame, so the fabric can be mounted onto it. This is the same for as well the top part of the frame as the bottom part. When the fabric is securely mounted on the frame, a small stroke of double sided tape will make sure the overlapping fabric is fixed into place. 54

57 At this stage, the lampshade is almost done. Now it is time for the finishing touches. This starts with cutting of the excess fabric and adding a small border of the same color, to cover up the frame and to give the edges a softer look and feel. When this border is ready, it falls over the inner bars of the frame. After cutting these parts out, the shade is finished! 55
