N High protein contents Provides ideal protein contents during the breeding period Guarantees growth and maintenance of the body Small grains and seeds are ideal for weaning Only the very best preparation of the breeding pigeons before coupling and proper care during the breeding season are able to guarantee vital young pigeons. Feeding a well-balanced diet is one of the main elements to guarantee good breeding results. We advise to feed Natural Finesse Breeding from ten days before coupling. From that moment onwards we advise to feed the breeders at least two days per week 5 ml of Natural Naturamine per litre of drinking water. If the breeding pigeons are taken care of in this way it will result in the laying of their eggs without problems and they will have the opportunity to pass on good characteristics to their young. It is important during the breeding period to feed Natural Vitamineral, Grit and Picking Stone every day. If the cock is chasing the hen and the breeding couples are rearing the youngsters, mix Natural Garlic Oil (enriched with vitamin E) with the Natural Finesse Breeding and dry the mix with Natural Vitaminor. Wait for approximately one hour before feeding until the mix is dry. The Natural Finesse feed concept was subjected to practical tests and we were able to discover for ourselves that the Natural Finesse feed concept fully meets the requirements of the widowers during the racing season. Elements which play an important part in the feeding of pigeons during the racing season: A. SWIFT RECOVERY To obtain swift recovery after the race the widowers are first fed one meal of Natural Finesse Sport + 4 g Natural Nutripower per pigeon. Natural Nutripower contains easily digestible proteins, amino acids, lipids and carbohydrates. First mix 20 g of Natural Electrolit and then 5 ml of Natural Naturamine per litre of drinking water to guarantee swift recovery of the pigeons and keep their muscles in top condition. Only ideally functioning muscles can be loaded with energy. B. HOW TO LOAD THE MUSCLES WITH ENERGY Instructions for use: see feeding schedule in combination with the flight distances. This easily digestible racing mixture provides all the energy that is required via three different kinds of top quality maize (French cribs, Bordeaux and popcorn) as well as small seeds. The ideal balance between grains and seeds in the Natural Finesse mixtures guarantees a high intake as long as it is fed until the very last race. Moisten the feed with Natural Garlic Oil during the second half of the week. This product contains vitamin E, soy oil and lecithin, which accelerates the conversion of the fatcontaining ingredients of this mixture into maximum energy. This means that the pigeons draw their energy mainly from fats. Fat is the main basic fuel for the pigeon s metabolism and is the most important energy source for the pigeon s breast muscles. The right fatty acids also play an important part in the building of their overall condition and resistance. But beware: proper reserves of carbohydrates should not be underestimated. After the continuous efforts during the racing season the pigeon s body is in need of rest and this is precisely the period during which they have to replace all their feathers. As a result of this they require a large number of essential amino acids to guarantee a proper, new coat of feathers. Feathers mainly contain mineralised proteins such as keratin which is rich in sulphur. This is why we must feed the pigeons all the necessary nutrients to meet these requirements. It is important to know that the so-called cheap mixtures generally have an unbalanced composition and do not contain enough amino acids such as methionine and cysteine. The percentage of small seeds, sunflower seeds and cardy provide these vital amino acids in adequate proportions. 32 Natural Electrolit A mixture of electrolytes and glucose for rapid recovery after a flight It is very important to give pigeons Natural Electrolit on their return from a race. The heightened metabolism and substantial exertion of the pigeon in flight result in numerous waste products. In the elimination of urea, uric and phosphoric acid, lactic and carbonic acid, mainly sodium ions are consumed and elimination is therefore dependent on the quantity of these ions available to the pigeon. Water loss is also appreciable during flight. For all these reasons it is important to give pigeons Natural Electrolit on their return from a race. This energy-drink effectively compensates water and electrolyte depletion and progressively restores the acid-base equilibrium. It also represents an immediate energy gain (glucose), which markedly shortens the recovery period. Diseases such as adenovirosis and paramyxovirosis cause diarrhoea resulting in a major loss of minerals and water loss. 33 Natural Garlic Oil For improved condition and health of the racing pigeon Garlic is a plant that has been known and used for thousands of years for its exceptional properties. It stimulates gastric secretion and prevents fermentation and digestive disorders. What is more, it improves the blood circulation and affords protection of the airways and protection against worms. Most pigeon fanciers are familiar with the therapeutic action of garlic and many are having their pigeons benefit from it. It is for this reason that some of them routinely put a clove of garlic in the pigeon s drinking water. This method is not effective as the virtues of the plant are essentially lost on the bird.
