Human Remains Detection Dog Seminar Instructor Mary-Ann Warren Saturday, September 3 Monday, September 5, 2011 Held at Morinville Fish & Game Club Morinville, Alberta This intensive training seminar combines classroom with practical instruction exercises for training the K9 Handler in the basic HRD imprinting and alert training and to further develop the skills of the intermediate HRD dog. Subjects include: Types and handling of training materials Training principles and methods Scent theory Legal requirements reports, resume, training logs Planning for ongoing training Attendance is limited. All Participants must be registered with a search and rescue organization. TUITION: $ 300.00 Participant with dog, $175.00 auditor A minimum of five participants with dogs will be required for the course to take place. Protective gloves (latex or rubber) All participants are responsible for their meals and accommodations. Dog Handlers: Long lines Reward/s for dog Handlers are responsible for the conduct and well being of their dogs at all times. Dogs: Minimum age 4 months Obedience control (with exception of young pups) Sociable Copy of up to date immunizations records (titers accepted) with registration form. Classes run from 0900 until 1800 hours daily with the exception of the Monday class. The Releasees are: The Sanctioning Body, being the following and including its officers, directors, employees and agents: Precision Search Dog (PSD); and Mary-Ann Warren; and The Premises Owner/Operator, being the owner/operator of the facility at which the Event is being held, which is more particularly described as; Morinville Fish & Game Club Morinville, Alberta Definitions: Aggressive Behavior means that the Dog has attacked, or threatened to attack. Dog means any dog, or dogs, at the event with the Releasers whether participating or not. Event means seminar. Hazards mean and include, but are not limited to, the condition of the grounds, floors, stairways, halls, lighting, security measures or lack of, electrical appliances, fittings, parking areas and the presence of unfamiliar animals and people. Loss means any damage or injury (including death). Certification I certify that: 1. I am the Owner of the Dog, or that I am the duly authorized Handler of the Dog; 2. I have read, understand and will abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Releases in effect at the time of the Event; 3. The Dog does not have a history of Aggressive Behavior and is not a danger to persons or other dogs; Acknowledgment I acknowledge that: 1. Attendance at or participation in the Event will expose the Dog and myself to a number of Hazards which could result in Loss to the Dog or to myself; 2. There is a risk of Loss to the Dog caused by its attendance at or participation in the Event, including but not limited to, Loss caused by the premises, equipment, other dogs and other people; 3. There is a risk of Loss to myself and other persons in attendance with me caused by my attendance at or participation in the Event, including but not limited to, Loss caused by the premises, equipment, other dogs and other people. Release In consideration of the acceptance of my application for attendance at or participation in the Event, I hereby: 1. Release the Releases from all nature of liability, including liability for negligence, whether gross negligence or otherwise, arising from my attendance at or participation in the Event, and freely assume all risks, including the risk of injury to my person, my property or the Dog, which may occur because of my attendance at or participation in the Event; 2. Release the Releases from all liability of any nature, including liability for negligence, whether gross negligence or otherwise, for all loss, in relation to claims against me or through me, or against or through any member of my family or any other person accompanying me or attending as my guest or in my place, or arising as a result of any action or inaction by me or by the Dog, or its Owner or Handler, or by any member of my family or any other person accompanying me or attending the Event as my guest or otherwise. I expressly assume all responsibility and liability for all such claims.
Indemnity In further consideration of the acceptance of my application for attendance at or participation in the Event, I hereby agree to indemnify the Releases for any costs whatsoever, including legal costs, that the Releases may incur as a result of, or which may arise, or be attributed to my attendance at or participation in, or the attendance at or participation of the Dog in, the Event. Further Acknowledgment I further acknowledge that: a) I have been given the opportunity to read this form before signing it; b) I have in fact read this form; c) I fully understand the contents of this form and that it restricts my legal rights and that I am signing this form voluntarily and of my own free will.
