6 Practical assessment on animal accommodation preparation Practical assessment Students will be presented with different scenarios which provide a context and details of the animals under care. Students are required to prepare suitable accommodation that caters to the needs of the animal concerned, including the following aspects: - safety (for handler & animal) - age (of the animal) - bedding - excretion - enrichment - food & water - cleaning & disinfection November 2018 Year 2 15 7 Project on care planning Project report and oral presentation Students will be presented with different cases. Students are required to use a care model taught to develop a husbandry care plan report that assesses the abilities and needs of the animal concerned to provide appropriate care. December 2018 Year 2 20
