Dear Friend of the Arizona Humane Society: Since 1957, the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) has helped hundreds of thousands of animals through our various innovative, low-cost programs and services, emergency field rescues and public clinics. Although we are one of the largest animal shelters in the United States, AHS does not receive government funding. Quite simply, we could not do what we do without your generosity. Through the unwavering support of our community, last year alone AHS was able to: Respond to more than 26,000 calls for help for homeless, sick, injured, abused or abandoned animals in need of rescue by our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians. Care for nearly 12,000 animals in our Second Chance Animal Hospital, the largest shelter-based trauma center in the southwest. Place more than 17,000 animals into loving forever families, place them at rescue organizations or animal sanctuaries, and reunite lost animals with owners. Combat our community s pet overpopulation crisis by spaying or neutering nearly 9,000 owned animals through our three public clinics and more than 11,000 shelter animals. Donations collected from our third party fundraisers are carefully put to use. With 85 cents of every dollar received supporting our programs and services, your gift directly impacts the rescue, healing and adoption of companion animals in Arizona. On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and all of the animals in our care - thank you for choosing AHS. Your fundraising efforts will make the difference in the life of a homeless, sick, injured, abused or abandoned animal in need. Sincerely, Guy Collison Executive Director

Impact of Your Support The Arizona Humane Society provides an array of unique programs and services: Animal Sheltering: A safe haven for homeless pets as they recover from injury, illness and abuse. While the needs of animals in our care differ, the average cost to care for one animal is more than $300. Pet Adoptions: Leading the fight against pet overpopulation, AHS offers many adoption locations and programs devoted to homeless animals of all ages, sizes and breeds. All adoptable animals are featured at http://www./ a real time gallery devoted to the faces of AHS. Emergency Animal Medical Technician (EAMT ): Animal-rescue and cruelty investigation program. From car engine and canal rescues to animal cruelty investigations, AHS EAMTs rush to the aid of sick and injured animals throughout the Valley. Those animals are then cared for in AHS Second Chance Animal Hospital, the largest shelter-based trauma shelter in the southwest. An array of services including lifesaving/reparative surgeries, wound and infectious disease treatment, pain management and rehabilitation are available to homeless pets. Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinics: AHS is committed to ending pet overpopulation one spay at a time. Accessible and affordable spay/neuter surgeries are available at AHS two public clinics and mobile clinic. AHS also offers low-cost vaccinations and microchipping. AHS Veterinary Clinic: AHS empathizes with the hardships that people sometimes face and wants pet owners to know surrendering their pet isn t the only option. AHS expanded AAHA accredited clinic, a reduced-cost clinic established to keep beloved pets in their homes, ensures that a pet s health won t suffer when times get tough. Second Chance Animal Hospital : The largest, shelter-based trauma center in the Southwest provides medical treatment for sick, abused and injured animals. In November of 2011 AHS unveiled the expansion of our veterinary services, courtesy of a very generous start-up grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. Alternative Placement: Provides animals a second chance through means other than traditional adoption while also providing peace of mind to pet owners when times get tough. Two of these programs are Project Safehouse which aids the pets of domestic violence victims and Project Active Duty which provides animal care assistance to activated members of the U.S. military. Volunteerism: Founded by a compassionate group of volunteers, AHS volunteer force is nearly 2,000 strong with a robust foster care program expanding the walls of our nonprofit organization. Outreach/Education: Share our mission through shelter tours and public information booths. AHS Humane Education program offers classroom presentations, scout programs, seasonal day camps and birthday parties.

Getting Started If you are requesting an AHS representative at your event, please submit inquiries through AHS online event request form for approval. The form may be accessed by visiting www. and hovering over the How you can help tab. Hold your curser over the link labeled Give and then Host a Fundraiser. You will then be directed to a page to complete an event request form. Please be sure to fill out the form as thoroughly as you can. Once received, staff can capture all information and take the appropriate steps to fulfill your needs. Please note, we prefer all requests are submitted at least four weeks in advance of your event date. Because of the high volume of requests, please allow us at least 3-5 days in responding to your inquiry. There is no obligation to fill an event request form if you re holding a fundraiser internally. However, if you are, please let us know! We would be delighted to equip you with materials that you may use for distribution amongst your employees, customers or friends. It also enables us to track where our wonderful support is coming from! For any questions, do not hesitate to call Page Englert, events and corporate partnerships specialist, at 602.997.7586 ext. 1039 with any questions getting started.

AHS and Your Event If you are requesting that the Arizona Humane Society serves as a presence at your event, or, if we have already planned on attending your event, please keep in mind each engagement is treated uniquely and on a case-by-case basis. We know events can range in all size and scope, and we are committed in helping you ensure yours is a huge success. Offsite Events: If your event is approved, AHS may provide: Volunteer support Promotion through AHS social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, website, electronic communications) Public information booth/signage Press release Promotional materials (i.e., Paw Prints magazines, brochures, fact sheets) Pick-up service (Due to resources available, please limit pick-up requests to hefty loads only) Adoptable animals (determined by AHS staff) Logo usage (logos must be approved by AHS before printed/distributed) Event organizer is responsible for: Event costs Graphical pieces (unless otherwise noted by AHS) Providing clear and concise direction to AHS regarding parking/check-in Obtaining licensing/permits/insurance where applicable Internal Events: Hosting a fundraising event internally with your team is a great way to have fun, engage your fellow colleagues and, of course, celebrate the joy of pets - all while supporting the animals in our care! Bake Sale Pet Photo Contest 50/50 Raffle If you plan to hold an event internally with your employees, we d be delighted to have you and your team visit for a behind-the-scenes tour of our shelter.
