No parking on the Fairgrounds. Violators will be towed at the owners risk and expense. Dogs may not be left in the Exhibit Complex or the Pavilion overnight. No grooming or grooming tables of any kind in the exhibition building (ShowPlex). There is absolutely no dumping or dripping of gray water from RVs onto the ground. The appropriate sewer hookup or dump station should be used for all gray (and black) water. Security will enforce the no dumping rule. There is a $500 fine for all/any infractions of this policy. The only fresh water available on the grounds will be in the restrooms. Exhibitors are responsible for the water required for the safety and comfort of their dogs. No bathing of dogs on show grounds. Speed limit within the Fairgrounds is 5MPH. Anyone exceeding this speed limit will be subject to an Event Show Hearing, and/or escorted off the grounds immediately. If it is necessary to rescue a dog from a parked vehicle on the show grounds or in the parking areas, the club will not be responsible or liable for any damage to the vehicle involved. These rules will be enforced by the show committee. Failure to comply with these rules will result in charges being brought before the show committee. No Smoking will be allowed or tolerated in any building on the Show Site. Offenders shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $50, and in the event of continued abuse, shall be asked to leave the show premises. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendations to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, or communicable diseases, and have the appropriate vaccinations. Note: No grooming is allowed upstairs in the Pavilion. Reserved grooming spaces are available and day grooming spaces are available in other sections of the building. The person handling the dog in this class must be a breeder of record and an owner of record of this dog. In any subsequent classes for which a dog from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class becomes eligible, there are no restrictions as to who may handle. Winners of the above classes, if otherwise undefeated, are eligible to compete for Best of Breed BEST OF BREED COMPETITION: The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs that according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a Championship but whose Championships are unconfirmed. The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owner s records. GRAND CHAMPION COMPETITION The following categories of dogs are entered in this competition: 1. Dogs that are Champions of Record competing in Best of Breed or Best of Variety class. 2. Dogs transferred to Best of Breed/Variety which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. 3. Champions that win Non-Regular Classes and become eligible for Best of Breed competition. (Altered or spayed CH veteran class winners at independent specialties are eligible.) 4. Winners Dog and Winners Bitch are not eligible for Grand Champion competition. At the judge s discretion, Grand Championship points may be awarded to: 1. Best of Breed or Variety 2. Best of Opposite 3. Select Dog 4. Select Bitch. Grand Champion competition will not continue beyond Best of Breed competition and in breeds that are divided into varieties, Grand Champion Competition will not continue beyond Best of Variety competition. Non-Regular Classes (involving multiple dog entries) STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and two or more of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy or the standard for its Breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed competition or some other non-regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and two or more of their Produce. Same rules as Stud Dog. NOTE: As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, (919) 233-9767. BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form. NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship, to be collected at the time of the change. SPECIALTY SHOW CHALLENGE TROPHIES The Washington Brittany Club, Inc., offers the following Challenge Trophy for competition at W.B.C. shows only. For permanent possession trophy must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog or bitch, nor at consecutive shows. Trophy must be returned to the W.B.C. thirty (30) days prior to the date of the next show. BEST OF BREED: One week at a beautiful cabin at Birch Bay, WA, offered by Jaime Eiene and family Breed & JR. SHOWMANSHIP Prizes WASHINGTON BRITTANY CLUB Prizes will be assorted Crystal Wine carafes and wine carafe stoppers, except as listed below. The American Kennel Club will collect a $3.00 Event Service Fee for the first entry of a dog and a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. The current 50 cent recording fee will continue to be collected where applicable. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Event Service Fees for The American Kennel Club. These event service and recording fees shall be forwarded to The American Kennel Club along with all other required event results within seven (7) days of the close of the event. CANADIAN CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS MUST BE DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS, AND/OR MADE PAYABLE IN U.S. FUNDS No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent/Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. TROPHIES & PRIZES will be awarded in the ring to person exhibiting the dog. No awards will be mailed.
