Brett has the drum. My drum! yells Brad. No! My drum! yells Brett. CRASH! The drum goes out of the crib. 2

Brad has the crab. My crab! yells Brett. No! My crab! yells Brad. Brett gets the crab. He drops it out of the crib. 3

Brad has the brush. Brad can brush Brett. This makes Brett glad. This makes Brad glad, too. 4

Trish and Fred trot fast. They trot to Gram s. Fred is Gram s friend, too! 12

Trent Trent is a shrimp! That is what all the kids said. Mom says Trent is not a shrimp. Dad says Trent is not a shrimp. 13

Trent does not want the kids to call him a shrimp. Trent was down at the grass. He was up to hit, and the kids said, Trent is a shrimp! 14

After the kids said, Trent is a shrimp! Trent did not hit the ball. Trent got out, and the kids said, Trent is a shrimp! again. Trent was sad. 15

Trent goes down to the grass again. I can pitch fast! Trent says to the kids. I am NOT a shrimp! 16

The kids let Trent pitch. He does pitch fast! He gets two kids out. Trent is fast! yell the kids. 17

Trent pitches and gets the big kid out. Trent helps them win! Trent is the champ! yell the kids. Trent is glad. 18

The Thrush and the Finch Shrill is a thrush. She went west. After she got to the west, Shrill the thrush got a nest. 19

Shrill the thrush sits in her nest. Shrill the thrush cannot get down from her nest. She has to sit in her nest. Fin the finch knows why! 20

Fin the finch has a nest in the west, too. Fin the finch has to sit in her nest, too. The finch and the thrush cannot get down from their nests. They sit and sit and sit! 21

Does Jan know why Shrill the thrush and Fin the finch cannot get down? Yes! Jan does know why. She can see in the nests. 22

Jan sees Shrill the thrush and Fin the finch again. Shrill the thrush is in her nest. Fin the finch is in her nest. Can they get down yet? No! 23

Jan sees Shrill the thrush and Fin the finch again. They are not in their nests! They are down in the grass. 24

Stan s Stuff This is Stan. Stan has a lot of stuff. He has balls and tops. He has blocks and bells. 25

The blocks are the best. Stan stacks the red blocks. Next, he stacks the black blocks. 26

The blocks spill! Stan stacks the red blocks again. Next, he stacks the black blocks again. Then, he stacks all the rest of the blocks. 27

Stan stands next to his blocks. Mother, come see my blocks! Stan calls. Father, come see my blocks! 28

Mother and Father see the blocks. Can we spin my tops? asks Stan. Yes, says Mother. Yes, says Father. 29

They spin the tops. The tops go fast. Two tops go too fast. The blocks spill again! 30
