SPRING TIME Page 2 SPRING IS HERE Spring and the promise of some warm weather is finally here! Unfortunately though, like us, some of our four legged loved ones suffer from allergies with the start of Spring. Spring brings lots of airborne pollens and new plants which can affect your dogs skin, making them itchy and uncomfortable. You may see this in your dog as itchy or red skin and if left untreated your dog could hurt themselves by excessively scratching or biting at their itchy skin. This can lead to infection. Luckily we can help relieve your pets discomfort. Many options exist; such as pet friendly anti-histamines and other medications which can be prescribed by your Veterinarian. If your pet is itchy and uncomfortable please feel free to contact us and book an appointment with one of our Vets. With some easy steps we can make sure your pet is feeling a lot better.

Welcome to the team Amy Helping Out Sommerville Rise Primary Sommervlle Primary Newsletter Grade Prep 2 As part of our Little Explorers program, Junior School students have been encouraged to take part in various role play opportunities. In JSD and JSH we had a barbeque and café last term. This term we have had a vet surgery complete with a waiting area, reception desk and treatment room. Thanks to Raelene s cousin Kylie from Ultimate Vet clinic, Narre Warren who provided us with some great resources for our clinic. Students really enjoy taking on the role of a character. It gives them a chance to stretch their imaginations and stimulate their creativity. It helps them to understand different occupations they may come across in the real world. It also helps with language development by giving them opportunities to practise talking, taking turns, expanding their vocabulary etc. They also get the chance to write for a purpose. For example in the café students were writing a menu on the blackboard and in the vet surgery they write down appointment times and reports on the patients. Maths skills can also be applied such as reading times, working out prices, measuring doses etc. Making appointments at the vet Dress ups
