OUR JUDGES Robin Spencer (Talgavar) BIS, Pekingese, AVNSC Toy, AV Imported Breed Register Toy, AV Toy I have been judging since 1988 and award CCs in 2 breeds. In addition I am on the A list for a third. I have judged in the USA, Europe including Ireland and have judged in Bahrain at the Kings Royal Saluki show. On the same visit over three days judged all breeds, groups and BIS at Bahrain Agricultural Society. I have sat and passed the CKCS assessment and I have a toy. In addition have passed the Yorkshire Terrier assessment. Rebecca Wileman (Narvidar) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel My showing days started around 25 years ago at Shargleam kennels. There I worked with and showed Flatcoated & Golden Retrievers and English Setters. I then worked as a Veterinary nurse hence my passion for veterinary medicine, animal health and welfare. This is where I met Sylvia Lymer and got my first little Cavalier called Loki, such a dear little soul and as we know Cavaliers are addictive and my Cavalier family grew. I started showing Cavaliers around 2004 with Lymrey Hi Jack. I couldn t have asked for a better start in showing this wonderful breed, he was an absolute gentleman. It took me till 2012 before I considered I was ready to start judging and I m really glad I did as I enjoy every minute. In 2015 I was elected onto The CKCS Club committee where I have gained so much knowledge and would recommend joining a breed committee for anyone who is passionate about their breed and wants to learn. Loraine Ratter (Seafar) Japanese Chin, Papillon My affix Seafar was registered in 1978. I have bred and exhibited Newfoundlands since including the Championship Show Group and BIS winner, Ch Seafar Crest of A Wave. My first judging appointment was in 1989 at Otley. I have been fortunate to judge extensively in the UK and Ireland and in Denmark, France and Germany. I award CCs in Newfoundlands and Boxers. I enjoy show administration; currently the Secretary of the Newfoundland Club UK and a founder member and Treasurer of The Northern Japanese Chin Club. Japanese Chins came into my family in 2009 and I currently own nine. We also have a very naughty Smooth Chihuahua who rules the roost. Yvonne Southam (Cavella) King Charles Spaniel Yvonne Southam had her first Charlie in 1980. Many Charlie breeders started with Cavaliers but in spite of her Cavella affix she has never owned a Cavalier. Charlies have been her one true love. It is only in the last few years that she has finally been persuaded to judge and share her knowledge and experience of the breed with others. She judged the King Charles Spaniel Club Open Show with a very good entry in 2015. She doesn t attend a lot of shows but made up her first UK Champion, Cavella Callula, a lovely Black and Tan girl, in 2009. She has sent some nice Charlies overseas incuding Int Ch Cavella Crackerjack in Finland and Int Ch Cavella Chaplin in Denmark. Most recently Cavella Babatunde went out to join Chaplin and at the tender age of 9 months is already a Junior Champion plus has 3 adult CCs and Best Puppy.

All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events. When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry. 17.
