JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Novice. Novice. This shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. Open. Open. This class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master. This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition from the Open Class. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors Meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE. EACH DOG ENTERED MUST BE OF THE BREED FOR WHICH THIS SHOW IS HELD. Junior Handlers must put their Junior Handler s number on the entry blank. To obtain a Junior Handler number, call the American Kennel Club (919) 816-3776 or E-mail at juniors@akc.org. Notice: Be sure all information for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on the front and back of the entry form. By signing the entry form, certification is given that the Junior Showman does not now, and will not at any time, act as an agent/handler for pay while continuing to compete in Junior Showmanship. NATIONAL OWNER HANDLED SERIES The AKC National Owner-Handled Series will be conducted following Best of Breed judging. All dogs in the BOB competition (including WD & WB) will stay in the ring after the judge makes their placements in BOB competition. The ring steward will ask all professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handler to leave the ring and then the judge will then select the Best Owner -Handled (BOH). The dog and its owner will continue to accrue points for any group placements or Bests in Show. The top-ranked dogs from the AKC National Owner -Handled Series are posted on the AKC National Owner-Handled Series Points Ranking page. Rankings of the dogs competing in the Series are compiled based on the Best of Breed, Group, and Best in Show placements in this specific Series competition (See Point Schedule). The end of year competition for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series will be held in conjunction with the AKC/Eukanuba show in December. Dogs that finished ranked in the top ten (plus ties) for their breed during the qualifying period will be invited to compete in the competition. Dogs exhibited by professional handlers on the day of the event are not eligible for this competition. Dogs exhibited by current assistants and household members of a professional handler on the day of the event are not eligible to enter this competition. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. A Rosette for Best Owner-Handler will be presented. 5

SWEEPSTAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Bullmastiffs at least 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. All entries in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class in this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular class. Indicate Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. Each dog entered must be handled by the owner of record, by a member of the owner s immediate family or by an amateur handler (a person not having received payment in any form for handling a dog in a show ring). Professional handlers may only handle dogs that they are the owner or co-owner of record. CLASSIFICATION ~ SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: Puppy: 6 months and under 9 months; 9 months and under 12 months; Jr.: 12 months and under 15 months: 15 months and under 18 months The winner of each class will compete for Best in Sweepstakes & Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Bullmastiffs 6 years of age and over on the day of the show. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches may be entered in this class. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Veteran Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes. Entries in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in any other class at this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular classes. Indicate Veteran Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. Entries in the Veteran Sweepstakes may be shown by anyone in good standing with the American Kennel Club. CLASSIFICATION ~ VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: 6 years and under 8 years; 8 years and under 10 years; 10 years and older The winner of each class will compete for Best in Veteran Sweepstakes & Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes. DIVISION OF SWEEPSTAKES STAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN 25% of the fees are retained by Club to help defray the expenses of these classes. The remainder is divided as follows: 60% of the remaining monies received will be divided as follows: Classes having four or more entries: First Place ~ 50%; Second Place ~ 25%; Third Place ~ 15%; and Fourth Place ~ 10%. 15% of the remaining monies received will be divided as follows: Best in Sweepstakes - 60% Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes - 40% All prize money is paid in the ring to the person handling the dog. Undistributed prize money is retained by the Club. Money rounded to the nearest dollar. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner s records. If, at the end of th e 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. GRAND CHAMPION SELECT Champions of Record and dogs which have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed that are entered in Best of Breed competition are eligible for Grand Championship competition. Grand Championship points may be recorded for: Best of Breed or Best of Variety of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed or Best of Variety of Breed, Select Dog, and Select Bitch. Grand Championship points will be recorded according to the number of eligible dogs competing in the regular and non-regular (eligible for Best of Breed/Variety) classes of each breed or variety, as well as dogs competing in Best of Breed competition, according to the Schedule of Points established by the Board of Directors. (AKC Dog Show Rules, Chapter 16, Section 6, effective 11-01-2017) AWARDS OF MERIT A judge may, at his/her discretion, recall into the ring up to four (4) Bullmastiffs (including Best of Breed & Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed) to receive an Award of Merit. These Awards of Merit are reserved for those quality animals the judge feels are worthy of final consideration for Best of Breed.. BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. Family members must be both a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in the class. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record, in the Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class. The Get MUST be entered in one of the regular conformation classes or for Best of Breed Competition. No Stud Dog or his Get may be shown as a part of another unit. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC Policy, or the standard for its breed. AKC Sanctioned 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition One combined class, not divided by sex, will be offered for puppies that are at least four (4) months of age but less than six (6) months of age on the date of the competition. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed will be chosen. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number is required for entries. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a nonprofessional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants or household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. Entries must reach the Show Secretary, Doris Bandoian, 1220 N. Richfield Rd., Anaheim, CA 92807-1812, by NOON, Wednesday, May 09, 2018. Fees should accompany entries. The Club and the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. The Club and the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner s agent entering a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. 2. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The CLUB will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. 3. Exhibitors confirmations and judging programs will be mailed or emailed to the address given on the entry blank. If not received within a reasonable time prior to the show, notify the Show Secretary. Confirmations returned by the Post Office marked Undeliverable will be held at the Show Secretary s office. Please bring your confirmations to the show. 4. During the hours of judging owners are to be on call, and have their dogs ready to bring into the judging ring promptly in order that judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls for the class. Owner of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor of any agent of the show-giving club to locate any dog, it s owner or handler, when the dog s presence is needed in a judging ring. It should be understood by every exhibitor and handler that waiting for dogs to be brought into the ring is a courtesy extended to the owner or handler of the dog. There is no rule of these clubs nor the American Kennel Club that requires a judge to wait for an owner or handler t o bring his dog into the ring. Show hours 8 AM to 4 PM. 5. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in the judging ring by completion of the breed and the show secretaries office advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. 6. Exhibitors are admonished to make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany the premium list. Rule books may be obtained from the A.K.C., 5580 Centerview Dr., Suite 200, Raleigh, N.C. 27606. 7. The Club, the Show Secretary or the members or employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor/owner or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler/agent during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 8. No grooming tables, pens or exhibitors setups will be allowed in the aisles and all grooming must be done at least 20 ft. away from the judging ring in areas specified by the club. 9. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Event Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fees for duplicate entry. 10. Only dogs that are eligible to compete to be allowed on the grounds. 11. The Club, may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Club or any official thereof. 12. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. 13. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. 14. A recording fee of 50 cents per dog and an event service fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2.) 15. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest Confirmation judging at the show. 16. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class after the Closing of entries for a show after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Event Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of the earliest conformation judging or one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the Show, whichever is earlier. 17. All persons attending this event hereby waive any claim for damages against the Club, or its, members, in the event a motor vehicle has to be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or improperly vented conditions. 18. All vehicles parked in VIP Parking Area without VIP Pass will be ticketed and fined. 19. Parents and/or Guardians are responsible for the actions of their children. GROOMING BUILDINGS & AREAS - Reserved Grooming Area Online reservations at WheresMySpace.com All reserved grooming will be inside air conditioned buildings with electricity. Owners and/or handlers are responsible for their dogs left in the buildings. Any person leaving their dogs overnight must leave a sign in their space with your Name and Emergency Contact(s) information. The Mission Circuit clubs, club members and Fairplex staff assume no responsibility for dogs unattended or left in the buildings. All X-pens in the building must have plastic sheeting under them with sawdust, mats or paper on top of the plastic. Plastic must come up approximately 18 on the backs and sides of exercise pens. Cocker and Toy pens must also have plastic under them for cleanliness. Do not throw dirty water into trash barrels, bring a container for this. Remember to bring a broom to keep your space clean. The grooming buildings will be checked each night for cleanliness. One check and form per space or person. Request to set up next to each other must be mailed in the same envelope (No exceptions). Each space request MUST be on a separate form with a separate check. All attempts will be made to accommodate requests but with No Guarantees. Reserved grooming setup will start Wednesday after 4pm to 8pm, Thursday to Monday 6 am to 10 pm; however, your space will be reserved for your arrival on any day of the cluster. Dogs are not allowed overnight on Wednesday. Some spaces may be irregular due to pillars. Night access to the buildings is provided by Fairplex Security. Have ID available.
