Subscriptions by members of BFCA are paid as a portion of annual membership dues.

President s Message Avanell Sikes Hi Y all, let s go...boot Scootin to Texas just a few weeks away. I m looking forward to seeing all of you. If you have not made your reservations, now is the time. Be sure to tell the hotel that you are with the BFCA Group so that you will be counted in our room guarantee. Y all get to Boot Scootin out there and be on the lookout for something special to bring or send to our Raffle. The Banquet and Seminar reservations have been extended until April 30. No reservations can be accepted after that date. If you have not made your reservations, contact Myra Wooton at myblissbichon@comcast.net or (952)882-9188. R. V. Parking has also been extended until April 30, or until the limit of 15 has been met. BFCA is glad to offer Pay Pal again this year for your convenience in paying for your reservations, etc. Local Clubs will meet as usual immediately following general meeting in the same room with Karen Graeber. It is our goal to have at least one representative from each local club. Please be sure a representative from your club will attend. We welcome our new member Linda Ross. Officer Reports Sandra Madia, Recording Secretary The 2011 National Specialty is just around the corner and the board has been very busy working on details to make this specialty very exciting. Once again we have our fabulous Videographer to film all of the events of our Specialty. If you order the DVD set in advance you can save $10.00. Please review the flyer included in this Bulletin packet and act quickly. The DVD s are being managed by Lindsay Van Keuren and she has taken steps to improve the managing and mailing or your orders. They are payable via the internet using PayPal what could be simpler? LAST MINUTE REMINDER: If any club member wishes to address the Board at the BFCA Board Meeting on Thursday, May 4 th, 2011, and you have not yet made arrangements to do so, please contact Avanell Sikes immediately in order to be placed on the agenda. Time is running out - so do it today! The Baseball Theme was approved by a large majority. 11-10B: The slogan for the 2012 National Specialty, following the selected Baseball Theme logo shall be either Game On, Get on Base, Hit A Home Run in Chicago, Batter Up In Chicago, Take Me Out To The Specialty or National or Take Me Out To The Dog Show and Chicago 2012 It s A Hit. Using a run-off ballot, the slogan Get On Base was approved by a majority. 11-10C: The BFCA shall award a plaque to the first bichon owned by a BFCA member to earn the AKC Grand Champion Award. The progeny are to be Champions of Record, confirmed by AKC. How to apply for your award: To apply for your ROM/ROMX please submit the following two documents: 1. An AKC Progeny Report for the sire or dam, listing the Champions of Record available from the AKC On-Line Store for $25.00; OR publications from AKC Gazette, AKC Awards, BFCA Banquet Awards Booklets or Bichon Reporters verifying the Champions of Record. 2. Copy of current AKC registration, showing all owners of the sire or dam Note: If you are unable or unsure about obtaining the AKC Progeny Report, then you may submit your request with a copy of the current AKC registration and a non-refundable check for $25.00. 2011 National Specialty 2011 National Specialty Report The Advertising and Trophies are closed. Your response was good, thanks to all of you who sent your donations and ads. Our Specialty can only be as successful as you make it. Entries close on April 6, which means our show is really just around the corner. The Houston Club is really looking forward to having all of us there. The seminar and banquet reservations are still open so don t forget to get those in to Myra. As the days count down to the show, I just want to thank all of those committee people who work so hard all year long to make it very special for all of us.
