By Joe Ziino The annual H.A.W.S. Walk-a-Thon: May 1 st, 2010 Congratulations GSDCW on another great turnout. This was our 22nd year walking for the Waukesha Humane Society and again a Big Thank You to all members who either participated in the walk or donated to a club member. The Humane Society has been extremely appreciative of our club. As usual, we heard a lot of feedback at the Walk from the H.A.W.S. volunteers and other walkers, saying good things about the club and German Shepherds as a whole and thanking us for our continued support. Making sure the German Shepherd breed is well thought of in the community is what this is all about. The weatherman cooperated for a change with a sunny spring day. We had an excellent turnout with 31 club members and 36 dogs participating in the fun activities. We had out 2 nd highest total collecting a whopping $6,207 for the Humane Society which brings our 22 year cumulative total donated to HAWS at $83,424. Congratulations to our two $1000+ dollar collectors: Theresa, Alan Ohm & Sandy, Dennis Smeiska. Another Great Job GSDCW!!! Our day started in true GSDCW fashion, with a little morning pick-me-up; Bloody Mary s from Mike & Cathy Los. We gathered together several picnic tables and took over the back corner of the picnic area. As usual, we had plenty of appetizers and liquid refreshments and did lots of general socializing. Overall it was another Successful GSDCW Event! Again, Congratulations and Thank You to everyone who helped make this another Great Event!
