Dear Friends and Cattlemen: We have been in the cattle breeding business for 25 years. It has always been our dream to have our own production sale on our home farm. We have participated in other production sales and learned from each one. Now, with our inventory and quality where we want it to be, we think we are ready to host you and to offer the best of our breeding program up to you. September 29 will be landmark day for us for sure. Please accept this invitation to join us. We have continually invested in top genetics across the country and we believe our donor battery will rival the best; we have tested them and proven their abilities. Our mating choices walk the line with current EPD s function and attractiveness. I am always thrilled to see photos and hear stories of how well our cattle have done for our valued customers from show winners to enhancing their herd. We are in the business to make your herd better while we do the same in ours. Last year we purchased the farm where we will hold the Rare Vintage Sale, and we christened it with a gala event. My son, John Paul, married Holly Maldanodo on the new farm and what an event it was. They proudly made me a grandfather on July 27, 2018 when Holly gave birth to Magnolia Belle Ferguson, starting a new chapter in our lives. Lots of new things are happening around here it seems. As you know, it takes an army to raise cattle and prep for an auction like this. A huge thank you goes out to my daughter Lindsey who stepped up in a tough moment; anyone who has worked with family knows there can be tough moments. Also thanks to Pat and Cody Campbell who take care of the cows, manage the property, and at a moment s notice build about anything; they are indispensable. Zack Elliot has made leaps and bounds from breaking calves to treating sick ones, and he recently completed AI training and then did a tremendous job his first go around. My stepdaughter Christen Braat has recently joined us to work in the show barn and we excited to have her back. Together, we are very proud to present this exceptional group of cattle. The Rare Vintage Sale gets its name for two reasons. (1) We think these cattle are rare, hard to find, and very high quality. We are excited about the potential of each animal we are selling here, and a lot of thought and effort has gone into their development (2) Northeast Ohio, and especially our area, is home to some great wineries. In fact, the Geneva Grape Jamboree will happen during the same weekend as our sale. It is a great festival with wine tasting, music, and much more in a beautiful town on Lake Erie, just a few minutes from our farm. Come to the sale. Come to the festival. Spend the weekend with us. You will not regret it! Sincerely, John Ferguson Ohio Junior Note: Please note that all of our heifer calves are eligible for the Best of the Buckeye breeders program. 4

When we decided to have an auction on the farm we knew we were going to have to dig deep into our herd to draw a crowd, and this elite, young donor is proof that we are making much of our best available to you. Her dam is a well-known power source in the breed with numerous accolades from her more than 60 recorded progeny including bulls like FBF1 Absolute, the World Beef Expo Champion and $41,000-valued all-time record setter, and his full sister, FBF1 Glowing Image, that was a $20,000 National Western Division Champion. Sisters to this cow also include Thomas Willis 2-time West Virginia Grand Champion, a $10,500 Iowa State Fair Grand Champion for Foreman/McKinney, a $10,500 Iowa State Fair Reserve Champion for the DeCap family, and a $20,000 entry in The One Sale to Jerry Lee, MO. Two more excellent sisters sell here and several other progeny are at work in leading herds. This cow is a real beauty with elite foot and udder quality. Like her famous dam, she is massive in her body cavity and hip shape with traffic-stopping good looks. Two excellent daughters sell here, and C505 is due again this February with another.
