Registrations are now being accepted. Please click on the links below to register for classes and view the online brochure. -Winter/Early Spring Brochure -Online Registration Brush Dump Facility to be CLOSED from June 17, 2017 to September 2, 2017

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is requiring the Town of Cumberland to cap the old "Stump Dump". For residents who are not familiar with the history of landfills in Cumberland, the old Stump Dump is located under what is now known as the Brush Dump/Composting Facility. In order for us to cap the Stump Dump, we must close the Brush Dump, remove all the material that is there, excavate and then cap the old dump material, and then move the composting material back to where it currently is located. This is quite an undertaking! We have scheduled this work to be done during the facilities slower, summer months. What this means to the residents is: The Brush Dump/Composting Facility will open the first weekend in April as usual. We will then close the facility June 17, 2016. Residents may not bring any material into the Brush Dump while it's closed! It is anticipated that the facility will reopen September 2, 2017, following its regular schedule until the normal season closing date of Thanksgiving Weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep you posted as we have more information. The 7th Annual Rabies Clinic will be held on January 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Cumberland Town Hall (290 Tuttle Road). This event is sponsored by the Coastal Humane Society and The Town of Cumberland. Dogs and Cats

Rabies Shots - $10.00 Nail Trimming - $10.00 Ear cleaning - $5.00 Cumberland residents can also register their dogs at the same time! Neutered - $6.00 Not Neutered - $11.00 All dogs 6 months and older must be registered. If you become the owner of a dog six months or older, the dog must be licensed by January of each year. In order to obtain a license for your dog, the owner must present a current State of Maine Rabies Certificate obtained from a veterinarian. This certificate will verify that your dog has received its rabies shot within the past two years. All dog licenses expire December 31st. If you have any questions regarding dog registrations, please contact the Clerk's Office at 829-5559. Dog Licensing Fees: -$6 per year for spayed/neutered dogs -$11 per year for dogs not spayed/neutered. *Per state law, any dog license that is renewed after January 31st, will be subject to a $25 late fee.* #1: Go online to complete the registration at: Online Dog Registrations #2: Stop by Town Hall (290 Tuttle Road, Cumberland, ME 04021) and register your dog in person. Make sure you have a copy of your dog's rabies certificate! #3: Complete the application available on the Town of Cumberland website & mail the following to Town Hall (290 Tuttle Road, Cumberland, ME 04021):

-your application -your payment (checks made payable to the Town of Cumberland) -copy of your dog's rabies Once it is processed, we will mail you back your dog license! While we love meeting all of our social media friends in real life, we would rather not do so because of a crash. Please remember in these winter conditions to slow down, increase your following distance, brake early, and remember that 4WD/AWD can be deceiving as it does not improve your vehicle's ability to stop. Less than one inch of snow can create slippery driving conditions. Thanks for keeping this in mind the next time you're driving in snow/ice conditions!
