Our speakers: Majella McCafferty Carmdy RVN qualified frm Dundalk Institute f Technlgy (DkIT) in 2015. She has a wealth f dairy farming experience and is currently registered in DkIT as a Stage 3 student f the BSc. In Agriculture. Majella wn the IVNA Student Veterinary Nurse f the Year award in 2015 and btained a distinctin in the Teagasc, FRS and AHI, QQI certified Level 6 Best Practice in Milking curse. Peter Linden HCert Ag graduated with a Higher Certificate in Agriculture (Level 6) frm Dundalk Institute f Technlgy in 2015. Peter is currently a final year student f the DkIT BSc. In Agriculture and is expected t graduate this year. Peter is a furth generatin, active and experienced dairy farmer, his family farm being lcated in suth Mnaghan, near Carrickmacrss. Crmac Brennan HCert Ag graduated with a Higher Certificate in Agriculture (Level 6) frm Dundalk Institute f Technlgy in 2015. Crmac is currently a final year student f the DkIT BSc. In Agriculture and is expected t graduate this year. Crmac has a strng dairy backgrund with the family farming and develping their land in Drumbat since the early 20 th century. Sined Timthy BVSc MSc MRCVS qualified as a vet in 2007 frm the University f Liverpl, where she als cmpleted a MSc. in infectius disease. She wrked in large animal practice in West Wales fr 5 years befre jining the animal health industry. She has been ruminant technical manager at Merial since 2014. Sined's interests include clinical parasitlgy, calf health and sheep medicine. Ger Cusack MVB MRCVS and Tmmy Heffernan MVB are bth members f XLVets Ireland. XLVets Skillnet, the training element f XLVets was launched in June 2011, delivering 100 s f training events t bth farmers and the veterinary sectr in Ireland. This year, XLVets Skillnet was awarded the Best Learning & Develpment Organisatin (Netwrks & Grups) at the IITD Natinal Training Awards. Ger Cusack graduated frm UCD Vet Cllege in 1982. He is partner at Cmeragh Veterinary, a mixed, mainly cattle practice, based in Kilmacthmas, C. Waterfrd. Ger is a funder member f XLVets Ireland, he has served as bth Chairpersn and Directr. Ger has helped deliver a vast number f training events t bth farmers and vets ver the years and has a particular interest in Bvine Lameness. Ger is a member f the Veterinary Cuncil Ireland since 2015 and has als been very active within the Cattle Assciatin f Veterinary Ireland (CAVI). Tmmy Heffernan graduated frm UCD Vet Cllege in 2002. Tmmy is partner at Avndale Veterinary Clinic in C. Wicklw and has been there fr the last 13 years. His interests are in herd/flck health and develping preventative strategies fr cntrlling disease. Tmmy writes weekly articles fr the Farmers Jurnal Vet Crner. Tmmy has served n the bard f directrs fr XLVets and is an integral member f the netwrk.
