General Information and Test Rules Eligibility: This test is open to all purebred Dachshunds & those Terriers in Group IV & in the Miscellaneous list seeking eligibility for Group IV that are small enough to navigate a 9 inch drain. Spayed and neutered dogs are eligible to participate. Dogs must be at least 6 months old on the day of the test. Regulations: It is the responsibility of exhibitors to be familiar with the rules pertaining to the event in which they are competing. Copies of the CKC Earthdog Test Rules & Regulations are available from the Canadian Kennel Club. Class Information: Introduction to Quarry (IQ) Junior Earthdog (JE) Senior Earthdog (SE) Master Earthdog (ME) Open to all eligible dogs who have not completed the requirements for a Junior Earthdog or higher title. A dog that has earned a CKC JE, SE or ME title may no longer be entered in the Introduction to Quarry Class AND a Regular class in one test. Open to all eligible dogs who have not completed the requirements for a Senior Earthdog title. Open to all eligible dogs who have completed the requirements for a Junior Earthdog title. Open to all eligible dogs that have earned an SE or ME title. A dog that has earned a CKC Master Earthdog title (ME) may continue to enter any regular earthdog class and may enter multiple regular classes in one test, but no further certificates will be issued. For the purposes of entering a CKC Earthdog test, only CKC titles count towards eligibility. Entry Fees: Introduction to Quarry: 9 AM and 1 PM Entries received prior to June 22, 2017 $15.00 Gate entries accepted at the Secretary s table until one hour in advance on the day of the test.$20.00 Junior Earthdog: 10 AM and 2 PM test..$30.00 Senior Earthdog: 11 AM and 3 PM test.$30.00 Master Earthdog: 9 AM and 1 PM test.$30.00 General Information and Test Rules (Cont d) Listing Fees: Dogs not individually reg. with the CKC, with an ERN or PEN number...$9.55 Please make cheques and Money Orders payable to BTC and mail with entries to the Test Secretary: Sarah Jones, 3 Harridine Lane, Ajax ON L1S 3E1. Entries: Entries must be complete, signed and submitted on the official CKC entry form. The order of competing shall generally be the order that entries are received. Entry fees will not be refunded after the closing date unless in compliance with the stated exception outlined below for Bitches in Season. Bitches in Season: Bitches in season shall not be eligible to enter the test. When a bitch comes into season after entry of the bitch has been submitted to the test secretary, a veterinarian s certificate, certifying that the bitch was in season within the 10 day period preceding the test, must reach the test secretary on or before the date of the test. Alternatively, the bitch may be presented to a member of the test committee no later than 1 hour before the scheduled start time of the test to determine that she is in season. The test-giving club will refund the entry fee, service charge and listing fee. Confirmation of Entry: The receipt of entries will be confirmed for those providing a return e-mail address on their entry form. Awards & Prizes: Qualifiers will receive a rosette and a small prize. Validation of Entries: All participants are required to fill and sign the Earthdog Participation Agreement on the reverse of the entry form. Entries submitted without this agreement filled in and signed will be refused participation in the tests. Schedule: The Secretary s table will be open for check in from 7.30 AM on July 6, 2017. The order of competing shall generally be the order that entries are received with exception of multiple entries from the same handler, which will be separated whenever possible. A running list will be posted at the site of each test. Move Ups: Accepted at the Secretary s table up to one hour in advance of the scheduled test. Test Precincts: The precincts of this test will be the marked sections of grounds at Skerryvore. Dogs waiting to be tested shall be kept at least 30.5 m (100ft) from the perimeter of each test area in the designated holding areas.
General Information and Test Rules (Cont d) Test Site and Parking: Please note there is day parking for cars and vans. There is no parking for RVs. Bring water, insect repellent, shade and shelter for you and your dogs. These tests will be run rain or shine, there is some shade at the site and there will room for individual canopies. All dogs must be under control and on a leash except during the test. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted. If you pay by personal American cheque, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Do not write Payable In Canadian Funds or At Par. This is not acceptable and will not clear the bank. To simplify the process, we urge you to buy bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Event Registration Number (Foreign Born/Owned Dogs): For the purpose of entering CKC events to obtain CKC titles, individual registration is not required for foreign born/owned dogs. Foreign exhibitors may apply for an ERN (Event Registration Number). This number MUST be applied for within 30 days of entering the first CKC event to avoid cancellation. Exhibitors may submit a photocopy of the dog s foreign Registration Certificate and the appropriate fee ($58.50 Canadian funds) along with the completed application form. The form can be downloaded from www.ckc.ca/forms or ordered from the CKC Order Desk at 1-800-250-8040. CKC Regulation 15.7: It shall be the duty and obligation of the eventgiving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer or any participant at an Earthdog test held under these regulations, is not subject to indignities. The Earthdog Test Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. Canadian Resident Non-member Participation Fees: RESIDENTS OF CANADA who are not members of the CKC are welcome and encouraged to enter CKC events. Once your dog earns a title or qualifying legs towards a title, if you wish to have those legs or titles officially recorded you must either pay a fee of $57.60 as an annual non-member participation fee or become a CKC member within 30 days. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification by the CKC will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. These fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian residents who are not CKC members and are not applicable to CKC members or foreign residents.
