Long Chapter 1 - Section 11 (b) Where a bitch comes into season after entry of the bitch has been submitted to the Trial Secretary, a veterinarian s certificate, certifying that the bitch was in season within the ten day period preceding the trial, must reach the Trial Secretary on or before the date of the trial. The Trialgiving Club will refund the entry fee. A dog which has earned its CD degree in the USA is not eligible for Novice A class and a dog which has earned its CDX in the USA is not eligible in the Open A class. Such dogs must enter in Novice B or Open B classes respectively. 6.9 Moving Up 6.9.1 A dog that is registered in the records of the CKC with an eligible number according to these rules and has fulfilled the requirements for a title in accordance with these rules, may be moved to the next level of competition if the schedule permits. The transfer must be on the appropriate move-up form and submitted to the trial secretary by the owner or handler t least 15 minutes before the start of the class. 6.9.2 When move-ups are permitted, clubs are exempt from the requirements of Section 4.3.4 and 4.3.5. 6.9.3 The Trial Secretary shall amend the judge s book and the marked catalogue, which is to be sent to the CKC with the requests attached to the appropriate entry forms. *** SAME DAY ENTRY OPTION WILL APPLY TO PERFORMANCE EVENTS AT THESE SHOWS *** SAME DAY ENTRY FEE - $35.00 CKC NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is not a member of the CKC; it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. Conflicts between Dog Show Rules and the New Breed Standards. The Board of Directors of the CKC. Has ruled that where a conflict arises between the Breed Standards and the Dog Show Rules, the Dog Show Rules will take precedence. 8. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entry was made. Changes or cancellation of any entry after closing date is prohibited with the exception of an error in an age specified class, date of birth, or sex and may be amended on the entry form up to one hour before the start of the show. 9. If because of riots, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. 10. To avoid noise and confusion there will be no individual dogs called to the ring by loudspeaker. Delays waiting for dogs will not be possible and handlers with several breeds must arrange for alternate handlers if judging times for their breeds conflict. 11. SHOW PRECINCTS area will be 30 feet from the Show Rings. All dogs regardless of age, not entered in the show or trials, must not be brought closer than 30 feet of the rings. 12. CLEANUP - Please clean up after your dogs. Stations with tools and receptacles will be available convenient to the rings. 13. No provisions will be made in the event of inclement weather. CLASSES Baby Puppy A dog between 3 mths & 6 mths on the day of the show. Junior Puppy A dog between 6 mths & 9 mths on the day of the show. Senior Puppy A dog between 9 mths & 12 mths on the day of the show. 12-18 Months A dog between 12 mths & 18 mths on the day of the show. Canadian Bred A dog which is born in Canada Bred by Exhibitor Dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder. The handler must be the owner/co-owner AND breeder/co-breeder of the dog. The owner/breeder must handle the dog in this class, but need not handle the dog for further awards. Open Class All dogs. Specials Only. Dogs who have a recorded CKC registration or Event Registration Number (ERN) and have attained the required points for Championship status. Dogs entered in this class will compete for Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Puppy in Breed if eligible. 10
CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SECTION 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder. SECTION 2: The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: Dogs Competing: 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more POINTS ALLOCATED* 0 1 2 3 4 5 *Includes the dog awarded WINNERS To determine the numbers of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. Directions to Odessa Fairgrounds 231 Main Street Odessa, ON K0H 2H0 Please follow these directions. GPS may not be accurate. From Hwy 401 take Exit 599. Travel south on County Road 6 / Wilton Road less than 1 km. Stay on County Road 6. Just past Main Street / Hwy 2 turn left through the gate into the fairgrounds which are basically at the corner of County Road 6 and Hwy 2. Enter the park from the County Road entrance. The Hwy 2 entrance will be closed and is difficult to negotiate out of if you turn in by mistake. 12
