Bugsy the Super Dog A lovely puppy named Bugsy lived with his tmom in the pet shop, along with other dogs and animals. Bugsy was a sweet dog with nice manners and his mommy was very proud of him. But Bugsy was very small and other dogs made fun of him.
You are so small, Bugsy! said Archie, a French bulldog. When will you grow up to be big and strong? I want to grow up to be a super dog, replied Bugsy. Ha, ha, ha! laughed Archie. There is no way you could ever grow to be a super dog, Bugsy! You are so small! Bugsy was sad. His mom hugged him and told him: Don t be sad, Bugsy. You can become the person you want to be.
I want to be a super dog, like the dog I saw on TV! He is driving a cool car and has nice clothes! And nobody makes fun of him! said Bugsy. That is just TV, said Bugsy s mother. If you want to be a super dog, you need more than a nice car and clothes. You need to prove that you are brave and righteous, because that is what a super dog is all about. Bugsy went to sleep. In the morning, two big bulldogs woke him up.
Hey, Bugsy! We heard you want to become a super dog. We can teach you how to become one! Look at us; we are so big and scary; everyone is afraid of us! said the bulldog with a hat. Yes, said the other bulldog, we can teach anyone how to become a super dog. We are the best. We always win the fights, and we fight often.
No, thank you, said Bugsy. Super dogs should be brave and righteous, and you are just big and scary. Two big bulldogs left and Bugsy went for a breakfast. There he met Maggie, the old pug. Bugsy, I hear you want to become a super dog. Is that true? said Maggie. Yes! Mom told me super dogs are brave and righteous and now I need to find someone to teach me, said Bugsy. I will tell you a story about a true super dog, if wish. Maybe it will help you, said Maggie.
Once upon a time in a land far, far away lived a beautiful husky. He was a rescue dog and he saved a lot of lives. But, during one great snowstorm, he got lost and injured his leg. Everyone was afraid to go out and rescue him. Everyone, but his friend, Paco. Paco was a small and quiet dog. Everyone thought he was a coward. But Paco fearlessly went out and rescued his friend from the storm. He even hurt his leg. And after that, everyone called him a hero. You see, Bugsy, you don t have to be big and strong to become a super dog. And you don t have to learn how to become a super dog. You need to find the super dog inside of yourself, old Maggie finished the story.
Bugsy listened to the story carefully and went for a walk in the park afterwards. There he saw a group of big nasty dogs bullying a small puppy.
Bugsy was afraid of the big nasty dogs, but he knew he had to help the puppy, just like Paco helped his friend. He rushed to them and stood up for little puppy, so nasty dogs went away. Little puppy was safe. Everyone at the pet shop heard about Bugsy s feat. Hey Bugsy, said an old beagle, you really are a real super dog. And that is how Bugsy discovered that he was a super dog all along. Even though he was small, he was a real hero. The End
