PAGE 11 DISTRICT 14 - DETAILS August 2016 Centennial Service Challenge Goal for the Month of August "Engaging the Youth" Engaging the Youth is helping future leaders, future Lions, Lionesses, and Leo's. If we nurture our youth, guide them, and praise them, they will want to follow our examples. It is exciting to visit other clubs, and see their ideas for the engaging the youth. Remember your clubs can share your ideas with others, by putting it in the District Newsletter. It's Ok to brag. Some clubs are filling backpacks, for schools projects. Providing school supplies to help children with supplying them with scissors, markers, erasers, pencils, and calculators. Or donating books for their libraries, or donating sports equipment. "The main hope of a nation lies in the proper education of its youth" Quote by Erasmus Our Centennial Tracker states we have served over 90,045,796 million people. I know we can exceed our goal of serving 100 million people by June 2018. Be sure report your service activities through MYLCI's Service Activity Report. We want to Roar about our Service and get recognition for our endeavors. For more information you can call or email (717-517-4679) susiee2@verizon.net. It's never to early to start thinking about The Peace Poster Contest. Clubs can start ordering peace poster kits now at LCIF. This also helps with Engaging the Youth Centennial Challenge. Respectfully, District Centennial Challenge Coordinator, and Peace Poster Coordinator, Lion Lorraine Brown
