New Items for 2017 1. We have a new & much Improved Online Entry site and it is http://yolocountyfair.fairentry. com/ 2. The New Program is online and it requires an email so please create an email or use one you check frequently so you can receive your messages from us. 3. There are no Per Exhibitor Fees. 4. The New Program is ALL Alphabetical in that all departments divisions and classes will be listed that way. So, if we used to offer a class of Other Item not listed chances are it is still there that way or it may have been changed to Xtra Item Not Listed so that it comes at the end 5. We are STILL here to Help Daily Monday Friday 530.402.2222 or stop on the by the Office from 9-3. Entry Fees Can ONLY Be Paid by Cashier s Check, Money Order or Check and must be received by the Closing of Entries or your entry will not count. For 2017, we cannot take CC or Cash. 7. The Entry Fees for FFA Livestock Have Changed All FFA Livestock Entries will be $15.00 per entry per class unless noted. Chapter Groups and Showmanship remained the same. 8. FFA Parking Passes are limited now to 2 Only per FFA Family and Exhibitor. 9. Premiums or Awards up to $100.00 per class or division will be paid out in cash the Friday Sunday of fair in the Office or Livestock Office from 11am 1pm and the 3 weeks following fair in the fair office during normal business hours. After the 3 weeks time, all unclaimed premium or award monies will become forfeit and will return to being the Yolo County Fair Property. Go to http://yolocountyfair.fairentry.com to Enter 1

Any Premiums or awards over $100.00 per class or division will receive a check in the mail, and the check will be made out exactly as the entry was created and mailed to the address on the entry no exceptions so please check your entries carefully. 11. Premium Checks Must be Cashed within 90 Days. No Checks will be reissued & after the 90 days all premiums revert to being the property of the Yolo County Fair. 12. The Adult Livestock Trailer Requirements have changed to read all RVs must have their own power cord for either 110 or 50 Amp and that the YCF will not provide any. 13. Some of your old departments or divisions may have changed but none were removed so if you don t see it give us a call or come on by. 14. We added new classes in our Juniors Department so check those out. We now have a Division for Groups which will be for clubs, and other groups. Then we added School Taught Art or Crafts these are for teachers to enter their students works or for older students to enter something they took in a class. 15. Senior Care or Handicapped Adult has its own Department this year with all your classes for Clothing & Textiles and Arts & Crafts all in one location so look for that if you normally enter there. 16. Feature Booths are now under the Adult Agriculture Horticulture Department. 17. FFA Ag Mechanics can now be found under the FFA department. 2

Traveling North on Interstate 5: Take I-5 North and Take the First Woodland Off Ramp Exit 537, and Turn Left. Follow East Main Street through town. Turn Left at East Street. Continue on East Street until Gum Ave. Light and go Left. Proceed East to the Main Entrance of the Fairgrounds. Traveling South on Interstate 5: Take I-5 South to the Hwy 113 Exit 537. Stay on Hwy 113 to the Gibson Road Exit and go Right on this Off Ramp, and take First Right onto Matmor Road. Stay on Matmor Road to Gum Ave and then turn Left on Gum Ave and Proceed West to the Fairgrounds Main Entrance on the Left. 3

Adult Stills Rules Please read these rules carefully before entering. State Rules are available in Fair Office or online at www.cdfa.ca.gov/fe. 1. Unless otherwise designated, all open departments exhibits are limited to residents of Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties. 2. Check department-section information carefully for entry closing dates, receiving dates and release dates. Absolutely no entries will be accepted after closing dates. When applicable, entry fees must accompany entry form. There will be no refund of fees regardless of circumstances. 3. If the entry fee is refused by the bank, a penalty of $35.00 per transaction must be paid before the judging of the entry. 4. All entries will be accepted any time online after publication of this Exhibitor s Catalog. All entries must be received by designated deadline as stated in department-sections. Entry Office Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Online Entry help available see website for details. 5. All Items are judged using the American Standard System of Judging, unless Danish System is stated prior to Section. 6. The following definitions are important to the understanding of this Exhibitor s Catalog. American Standard: The judging process to rank exhibits against one another and award one first placing, one second placing, etc. if merited. Danish System: The judging process to compare each exhibit on its own merit against the scorecard or recognized standard and award as many first placing, etc., as merited. Exhibitor - The owner of the exhibit. Either the sole owner or a designated exhibiting owner. Exhibit - An object or collection of objects entered in a class. Entry - An eligible exhibit which is entered and judged. 7. Yolo County Fair Management reserves the right to screen, reject entirely, or accept conditionally, any exhibit that, in management s opinion, may be in questionable taste for the general fair and attending public. 8. Upon signature and submittal of entry. Exhibitors and their agents, parents, leaders acknowledge that: a) They understand the State Rules and the local fair rules; b) They agree to abide by them; c) They certify that all information on the form is true and correct; d) They agree to comply with the fair s decision regarding any violation of the rules, and e) In the case of established unethical treatment of animals or violation of drug policy rules, exhibitor s name will be forwarded to Fairs and Expositions. 9. Proper precautions will be taken for the protection of the exhibits, but Yolo County Fair or its representatives will not be responsible for loss by fire, theft or otherwise. The Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and save harmless 5

Association and the State of California, their officers, servants and employees from any and all claims, resulting from any damages, injury or loss to any person or persons, including all persons to whom the Exhibitor may be liable under any Worker s Compensation law and Exhibitor himself and from any loss, damage, cause of action, claims or suits for damages including, but not limited to, loss of property, goods, caused by, arising out of or in any way connected with the exercise by Exhibitor of the privileges herein granted. 10. Premiums or Awards up to $100.00 per class or division will be paid out in cash the Friday Sunday of fair in the Office or Livestock Office from 11am 1pm and the 3 weeks following fair in the fair office during normal business hours. After the 3 weeks time, all unclaimed premium or award monies will become forfeit and will return to being the Yolo County Fair Property. 11. Premiums (cash awards) are paid only in accordance with results recorded on the judge s sheets. Tags, ribbons, etc. have no value as to payment of premiums. 12. For the protection of exhibitors, No Entries will be removed on the Closing Night of the Fair. 16. Refer to Individual Departments for release times. 17. No exhibits will be kept after Monday August 21, 2017. 18. The Fair Management shall not be responsible for accidents or loses that may occur to any of the exhibitors or exhibits at the Fair. The exhibitor (or parent or guardian of a minor) is responsible for any injury or damage resulting from the exhibitor s participation in the program or event. This included any injury to others or to the exhibitor or to the exhibitor s property. 6

Adult Agriculture & Horticulture Entries for All divisions close online July 14, 2017 All Divisions are in the Ag Business Building Other than Feature Booths & Yolo County s Bounty all other divisions entries are due to the Ag- Business Building Monday August 14, 2017 from 1pm 8pm All Entries must be picked up on Monday August 21, 2017 from 10 am 3pm in the Ag Business Building Agriculture & Horticulture Divisions are Open to residents of Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties. Agriculture and Horticulture Divisions will have Placings 1st through 3rd Ribbons only in each class. Only Divisions with Premiums are Feature Booths & Yolo County Bounty Entries must be paid with check, money order or Cashier s Check & it must be received in the Fair Office by Entry closing date. Premiums (cash awards) are paid only in accordance with results recorded on the judge s sheets. Ribbons, etc. have no value as to payment of premiums. All Premiums or Cash Awards under 100.00 per class or division will be in cash this year and will be available for pick up the Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Fair from 11am 1pm in the Livestock Office and for 3 weeks following the fair in the Regular Fair Office at 1125 East Street. At the end of those three weeks all premiums will be forfeited and will return to the Yolo County Fair. There will be a Best over All Awards in Each Division - 1st - $15.00 2nd - $10.00 3rd - $5.00 Agriculture Horticulture Sweepstakes are: 1st - $25.00 2nd - $20.00 3rd - $15.00 Exhibitor is limited to 2 Entries per class unless otherwise stated. When possible please provide the variety name on Entry Feature Exhibits Does Not Count Towards Sweepstakes Open to Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties County, Community & Organizations Exhibits Feature Exhibits (Booths) shall be limited to one entry by or for a county, community, and organization or non- commercial entry in this Department. Exhibits (Booths) must be maintained for the duration of the fair. Back Lot Parking Pass fee will be $20.00 per pass. All booths will have a minimum of a 6-foot back wall and 4-foot side wall. Booths must be cleared of all staples and tacks in side walls when dismantled. For all classes in this Department. Booths shall be reserved only when the Fair Office has received the proper entry and fee. Fire Prevention -All material and decorations must be flame proofed and are subject to Inspection by the fire marshal. Building Schedule: Starting August 10, building will be open to work on booths Thursday Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday Aug. 13 Noon - 5:00 p.m. Monday Aug. 14-8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 15-8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Booths must be completed by 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15. Booths must be dismantled between 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 21 American Standard System of Judging 7

Community Service Booths Entries are to feature services, product or industry of Yolo County. Entry Fee - $20 per entry per class Premium Checks Must be Cashed within 90 Days. Premiums offered for this class are: 1st - $250.00 2nd - $225.00 3rd - $200.00 4th - $175.00 5th - $150.00 6th - $125.00 7th - $100.00 Class: Community Service Booth 100 square feet (not more than 144 sq. ft.) Special Feature Exhibits Special Feature Exhibits (Booths) should display an agricultural product process or procedure of the area represented in such a manner to most attractively inform the public of the value, desirability & interest to the consumer, producer & community to be found in the subject being featured. Entry Fee For the 200 Square Foot Booth is $25.00 Entry Fee for the100 Square Foot Booth is $20.00 Premiums offered for 200 Square Foot Booth are 1st - $400.00 2nd - $375.00 3rd - $350.00 Premiums Offered for 100 Square Foot Booth are 1st - $250.00 2nd - $225.00 3rd - $200.00 4th - $175.00 5th - $150.00 Special Feature Booth 100 Square Foot Special Feature Booth 200 Square Foot Score Card for Judging Special Feature Booths Educational Value = 30% Displaying one aspect or segment of the area s agriculture in a manner made most interesting and informative to the public using readable labeling, concise legends and other visual educational aids using a minimum of brand names. Ingenuity = 30% Attractiveness = 20% Effective use of composition, animation, color and/or other exhibit aids to enhance appearance, create interest and invite closer inspection. Lighting = 5% Dramatic effects, color and/or any other technique enhancing the exhibit. Completeness = 15% Includes all important aspects or components of the booth subject or theme and utilize to best advantage all the space allotted. Total = 100% Score Card for Community Service Booth Services Provided to Community Value = 30% Theme: feature, service, product or industry of Yolo County = 30% Decoration and Lighting = 20% Arrangement & Labeling = 20% Total = 100% Yolo County s Bounty Does Not Count towards Sweepstakes $5.00 Entry Fee Due to Fair Office Before Entries Close & must be Check, Cashier s Check or Money Order Rules: Open to Groups, Families or Individuals. 1 entry per exhibitor. Set up will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ONLY on Tues., Aug. 15 in the Ag-Business Building. (Should be mostly completed and ready for placement. Accessories are to be put in place at same time.) Exhibit Area will be assigned to each competitor. Entries will be judged on Wednesday, Aug.16 at 10 a.m. Exhibits will be released from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon., Aug. 21. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add fruit and orange peel. Stir in Buttermilk until a soft dough forms. Turn onto a floured board, kneed gently for 2-3 minutes. Shape into a ball. Roll into a 7- inch circle. Cut into 10 wedges, place on a greased baking sheet. Brush with milk, sprinkle with extra sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 14 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, melt chips and peanut butter in the microwave or over a double boiler until melted; stir until well blended and spread over warm bars.
