HOPE RESTORED THROUGH ONE REMARKABLE DOG. Morgan Watt s service dog, Foley, reminds him that life is a gift worth fighting for every day. For his two sons. For his wife. For a nation that can t afford to lose one more husband, father, and hero. When Morgan worked as a security police first responder and as an Air Force K-9 handler in explosive detection, instant reaction and hyper vigilance were normal. Searching an Okinawan jungle, working with the Secret Service on presidential detail, or securing foreign dignitary events in New York City, all fell under his watchful eye. Later as a civilian pilot, Morgan s hyper-awareness served him well. But when debilitating migraines and balance issues ended his career, years of buried emotions and high-risk scenarios exploded in anxiety and depression. Severe debilitating pain and the loss of his career triggered Morgan s underlying Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and thoughts of suicide tempted relief. But Morgan persevered for the sake of his wife and two young boys. Now Morgan has found strength and hope in Foley, his Paws for Patriots service dog. This calm yellow goldador performs specific commands that allow him to overcome panic attacks and depression. Foley offsets anxiety, stimulates laughter, and creates space in a crowd. When nightmares strike, Morgan reaches for Foley. If he s asleep, I know it isn t real, he says. Out of all the treatment, out of all the therapy, I don t think I would have made it without Foley.

We transform lives. And you can, too. At Southeastern Guide Dogs, our Paws for Patriots program transforms lives by bringing together inspiring veterans and extraordinary dogs. Paws for Patriots pairs our superhero guide dogs, service dogs, facility therapy dogs, and emotional support dogs with American heroes, the servicemen and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. 4210 77th Street East Palmetto, Florida 34221 941.729.5665 A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING TOLL-FREE WITHIN THE STATE, 800-435-7352.
