Home screen navigation 5

HOME SCREEN NAVIGATION Navigate your way around Android ios Side menu is located in the left hand corner. Navigation is located at bottom of screen with extra features in the More side panel. 6

Understanding location states LINK AKC s proprietary patent-pending technology uses advanced GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi & cellular technologies to determine your dog s location and location state. 7

UNDERSTANDING LOCATION STATES Wherever you may roam... Location states help LINK AKC determine the location you see in your App as well as help to manage feature functionality and battery. WITH YOU NEAR BASE STATION AWAY LOCATION STATE: Bluetooth safe zone created by your phone. Bluetooth safe zone around radius where the base station is plugged in. Away from a safe zone, not necessarily lost! GPS track just by being on location screen. Note: Lost Mode leaves GPS tracking ON if you leave the screen. LOCATION DISPLAYED: Your Phone s Location. Base Station s Location. The Tracking Unit s real-time location. (if GPS tracking is engaged) FEATURE IMPLICATIONS: Full Feature Functionality. Limited functionality to conserve battery. However we will still monitor location state Location, Light & Sound have full functionality while others such as Adventures or and will notify you if they become Away. Temperature have minimal functionality. 8

UNDERSTANDING LOCATION STATES LINK AKC will notify you if your dog leaves or returns from the Away state Getting an Away message doesn t mean your dog is lost. It could be with someone that does not have the LINK AKC App (dog walker, child, etc.) PREVENT FALSE AWAY STATE CHANGES: 1. Always keep your app running 2. Keep Base Station plugged in. 3. Keep your phone s Bluetooth on. 9

UNDERSTANDING LOCATION STATES How to track GPS in Away GPS Tracking is turned on by simply being on the location screen! + + It may take up to 2-3 minutes to see a first location. Your dog s location will continuously update as long as the Tracking Unit can get a clear line of sight to the sky and has connectivity. Otherwise, the App will communicate the last known location information. + + Paw prints reflect the path your dog was on prior to the most recently known location, so you can get an idea of where they may be headed. Tracking is turned off if you leave the screen, unless Lost Mode has been activated. IMPORTANT TIPS: 1. The Tracking Unit must have clear line of sight to the sky to get a GPS location. (If you dog is indoors, under a bridge, etc., it does not have clear line of sight to the sky.) 2. Once a location is aquired, the Tracking Unit must have connectivity to the LINK AKC network in order to communicate its location. 3. Your phone must have connectivity in order for the app to receive location information from the LINK AKC network. 10

UNDERSTANDING LOCATION STATES Lost Mode Lost Mode keeps GPS tracking activated even if you leave the location screen, that way you don t have to wait for the initial GPS fix if you wanted to go back to the screen again soon. IMPORTANT: Remember that GPS tracking is battery intersive, so only keep Lost Mode engaged if you really need to do so. 11

UNDERSTANDING LOCATION STATES Temporary Safe Zones Temporary safe zones extend your phone s safe zone and are meant to be used in temporary situations when you are out and about together, like if you wanted to play fetch or have a picnic. + This gives you peace of mind by allowing your dog to safely be off leash when you are together. + To use this feature in With you, tap Temporary Safe Zone on your location screen and follow the in-app steps to customize the safe zone range, up to a radius of 2400 meters. NOTE: This feature uses GPS, so only use when you really need to. 12

Your dog s wellness 13

YOUR DOG S WELLNESS Smart activity monitoring Healthy dogs live longer! Keep yourself, and any other care takers accountable for making sure your dog gets an appropriate amount of activity each day. Streaks: Motivate yourself by earning streak rewards for each day your dog meets his or her daily goal. Timeline Detail: Track and see how active your dog has been all throughout the day. Intensity Levels: Using a three-axis accelerometer and proprietary algorithm, LINK AKC will measure and learn your dog s activity levels to understand what constitutes intense activity for your dog. 14

YOUR DOG S WELLNESS Insightful activity goals LINK AKC provides a personalized daily activity goal based on your dog s breed(s) and age. + If your dog is a mixed breed we will ask you a few questions to learn about your dog s activity needs. + You know your dog better than anyone, so you can edit this goal at any time within the App. 15

YOUR DOG S WELLNESS Historical activity records LINK AKC stores your dog s historical activity levels so you can monitor activity over time. + From the daily activity screen, tap on the calendar icon and swipe through historical data. + Consider showing this to your veterinarian at your annual checkup. 16

YOUR DOG S WELLNESS Ambient temperature alerts Monitor your dog s wellness all day! Turn on temperature alerts to be notified if your dog is in an environment that may be too hot or too cold for them. + Turn on this feature by pushing the bottom center toggle button and customize the high and low temperature degree thresholds by pressing the + and - buttons. Temperature Alerts TEMPERATURE TIP False high temperature alerts may be triggered by a sleeping dog covering his/her Tracking Unit (snuggled against a blanket, laying on top of it, etc.)if you are getting lots of false positives, then consider increasing your high temp. threshold. 17

YOUR DOG S WELLNESS Records Save vet records, vaccinations, certificates, and other important documents by taking a picture and adding them to your file. + You can set a reminder to notify you when the records expire, so that you can better manage your dog s wellness. NOTE: Edit or view your dog s profile info by clicking the three dots in the top right hand corner. 18
