EDITOR: VICTORIA TEUTEBERG AUGUST 2012 THE DOG-GONE NEWS! WWW.BRITTANYCLUB.COM 2012 ABC Central Gun Dog Futurity Hosted by LaSalle Brittany Club ABC Magazine Vol. LXIV#7, July 2012 Petey Finishes Open Agility Jumper Title Radar was featured in the ABC Magazine this month. He placed 2nd out of 16 dogs at the ABC Central Futurity Gundog Winners. He ran against his litter mate, Elvis, who placed 4th. There is a small article in the ABC Magazine where the judge wrote a short description of the brace. You can read the article In Vol. LXIV #7, July 2012, page 31, under Brace 4. It is a very well-written article; and one that Radar and I are VERY proud of! http://www.theamericanbrittanyclub.org/ Aftertrying for over a year and a half, Petey finally finished his Open Agility Jumpers Title (OAJ) at the Packerland Trial in DePere! Despite his sniffing at the start line, he decided to turn it on and run just like I knew he could. Our one refusal was totally my fault (my niece tapped us, so it's on record); but, he nailed his weaves and was even 0.09 seconds under time! I told him that if he finished his Open Title, he would be done in agility until after the Brittany Gun Dog Nationals at the end of October. I guess he took me literally today. As this was his first time in excellent and because he was just out of control, sniffing, knocking bars, and doing his own thing, we are done. We are going to concentrate on bird work in hopes of finishing our Amateur Field Champion Title this fall and hope for a placement at Nationals!
