BREED CLUB INVITATIONAL HOW CAN MY BREED CLUB SPONSOR AN EGG CLASS? The Klein FFA Alumni invites your club to sponsor your breed's egg class within the Klein Egg Show Extravaganza. The design of the "Egg Show" allows for breed clubs to sponsor their own class and use their own judging rules. Its a great way for a breed club to support the mission of the Klein FFA Alumni, providing family oriented education about poultry eggs, and rewarding newcomers and juniors who participate in the Egg Shows, while still supporting its own club mission. To sponsor separate egg class judging, breed clubs need to submit their rules proposal for the class to ranchetta@live.com. The proposal must include detailed judging rules for the class, how winners are determined, and the ribbon, trophy, or cash prize for each place. Once approved, the club will receive a list of EGG CLASS titles and EGG SHOW rules for that event. Breed clubs are encouraged to promote their own sponsored class event, and are required to use all titles, lists, rules, and its inclusions when promoting the event. This will ensure consistency in supporting the mission of the Egg Shows. Entry Requirements The Klein FFA Alumni allows anyone to participate in the Egg Show. Egg Classes sponsored by a breed club must also allow entries by non-members. Non-members need to comply with breed club rules to be eligible for club prizes. Mailed Entries The Egg Show has rules in place for mailed entries. Unaccompanied breed club entries must be mailed to the breed club Egg Chair or the Egg Show Chair, and arrive at the show unopened. Mailed entry and breed club registration will be from 8-9:00am. Breed clubs
are responsible for registering their mailed entries by opening and placing them in exhibit boxes at the registration table by 9 am. Eggs may not be left in packaging, they must be placed in exhibit boxes. Late Entries Breed clubs will set their own entry deadlines, and will receive and process early, late and unattended entries through 9 am the day of the show. A final registration summary, including a list of all participants, contact information, totals, and fees, must be submitted no later than 9 am the day of the show. The club's Egg Chair must be present to register all entries on the summary. Any entries after 9am will be registered by the Egg Show, and assessed a $1 late fee, due to the Klein FFA Alumni. Breed Club Egg Judging Rules and Definitions Breed clubs are responsible for establishing their own club's judging criteria, language, and definitions for their egg class alone. The Egg Show provides each breed club an unimpeded hour of judging, using approved breed club rules and awards within the specific breed club egg class alone. Judging Coordination Open Breed Egg Show classes will be judged first. The breed clubs would then conduct their judging and awards, in a way that does not interfere with the main egg show process. The Egg Show will establish a table layout and egg class display layout for each Egg Show venue, and breed clubs will adhere to the layout established by the Egg Show. Points and Awards Breed clubs will award their own ribbons, trophies, and cash prizes, based on each club's membership requirements. Points for Egg Show Grand Champions are awarded in the general classes only. No additional points are awarded for wins in breed club egg classes. Breed Club Class Awards Breed clubs are welcome to display their ribbons and trophies on the main table of Egg Show prizes. Your club will use a separate awards process that shall not interfere with the Open Breed Egg Show awards. Promote Junior Members The Klein FFA Alumni encourages family and junior participation in its events. Breed clubs are encouraged to invite junior participation in the egg show, and feature a junior prize. Breed Club Information Booth Breed clubs are encouraged to set up a family friendly educational display about the breed and its eggs. Breed clubs are permitted to hang their club banners and promote their sponsors within their own club display area. Sale/Donation/Termination of Eggs All eggs brought to the Egg Shows without a P/T report are considered "educational display" eggs, and will be destroyed at the end of the show. All eggs brought to the show with a P/T report are considered sale eggs to be sold by the end of the show, or donated to the Klein FFA Alumni raffle/silent auction. We appreciate your support and donations of display eggs to the Klein FFA Alumni auction.
