Fur Fun Flyball Sweet Tea Classic 2018 Welcome Letter Tournament Format The tournament is one (1) two-day unlimited tournament with 38 teams (14 Regular, 6 Multibreed, and 18 Open teams, from 16 clubs), in 2 rings with 63+ ft of runback. The seed chart, racing formats, racing schedule and other info can be found here: http://www.furfunflyball.com/sweetteaclassic.php. We have 184 races (98 on Saturday and 86 on Sunday). Regional Info Please note that for regional championship purposes, this is a Region 9 tournament. Amanda Brown is the Regional Director. Prizes/Titles/Awards Gifts and goodies for dogs and humans will be in your teams' welcome bags. Hope you enjoy! Humans from all teams will receive a placement prize as well (7 per team). Please sign up dogs that earn NAFA titles during the weekend (and please only those that are earned at our tournament) on our posted sheets. We will be giving title ribbons to each dog that earned titles at our tournament. Shelly and Matthew will present the Fury Award to an inspirational and deserving dog and human team. And last but not least, we have a little something for the Junior Handlers, which should have been signed up prior to our tournament. Site The tournament will be held at the Greensboro Sportsplex in Greensboro, NC. The facility is heated/air-conditioned, and has plenty of indoor crating (crating areas pre-assigned). Please do not block any entrances and be respectful of others. We have been told by the venue that NO CROCKPOTS are allowed (they will blow a fuse). Also, please plan to TARP YOUR ENTIRE CRATING AREA (there is carpeting under the sports court tiles). We will be setting up from 9 am Friday until we are done. You may drop off any boxes and balls after 3 pm and before 9 pm Friday night. The building will close promptly at 9 pm Friday night. The outside has grass areas that must be kept clean as usual; bags and containers will be provided. Please do not allow dogs to urinate outside on the building, in the main entrance area, or on anything someone has to pick-up. Please pay attention to your dog while you are talking so that you don t miss picking something up your dog has left behind. Bags and waste buckets will be provided. Please observe all posted signs for parking restrictions. No alcoholic beverages allowed on the premises. Sponsors A HUGE thank you to our sponsor: The City of Greensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau! Friday and Saturday Night Mat Time We will be offering "mat time" Friday evening, beginning at 4:00 PM. You may sign up starting at 3:45 PM. Cost will be $5/5 minutes. Please let us know if you need to rent the empty lane next to you or if you can utilize your mat time with a neighbor. There MAY (should) be limited mat time available Saturday after racing (time permitting). The building closes at 7 pm Saturday. NO RESTRICTIONS on dogs eligible for mat time.

RV/Camping/Entrances/Parking RV camping Please let Emily know if you are planning to RV camp (ekgetty@gmail.com). No hookups. No electricity. Generators OK. There are nice locker rooms and showers inside, which are available while the building is open. BEFORE YOU SETUP, level, pull out your slides, etc.,.. PLEASE CHECK WITH EMILY to make sure you re in an acceptable location. There are a few pre-assigned spots, and we reserve the right to move you to accommodate. The front door and potty doors are the only doors available for foot traffic. Gates A and B will be closed and locked each night, when the building closes. Foot traffic can still pass by/through both gates. Area marked "Available" CAN be used to park RVs (especially those that want to come and go after gates are closed and locked). Overnight campers camping in "RV LOT" CAN use area marked "Parking Alley" to park additional vehicle, so they can walk from "RV LOT" to "Parking Alley" after gates are closed to come and go after hours.

If you are using stickers be sure to bring one for each side/page of the form. Please do not bring entire C-2 forms. They will be discarded. Team lineups may be changed or a performance team may be declared up until the first race of their respective division has started. After a race has been run in a division no lineups may be changed for any reason in that division. PLEASE CHECK YOUR C.2 FORMS CAREFULLY. ONE MISTAKE CAN COST YOU EVERYTHING!!! Judges Jon Bescher, Geoff Brown, Chris Carr, and Stephanie Trevino will be our judges for the weekend. Technology n Thanks to Andy McBride and his FlyballGeek ring assignment system, DGF, and Jeremy Meeler, race ring assignments can be viewed on the TVs, and on your web enabled mobile device here: http://flyballgeek.com/r/14. Please note you can verify the time of the last update via the time stamp. The schedule can be accessed here: http://flyballgeek.com/v/14 n Thanks to Dave Thomas and Sharon Harrell for the use of their most excellent APES (Auto Pass Evaluator System). n There is free city Wi-Fi at the site. Connect your device, open a browser, and click accept.

Scoring n All Round Robins will be scored 1 point per heat won plus 2 points for winning the race (YES, including 3/5 races), 1 point for a tied race, 1/2 point for tied heats and 0 points for a loss. n Divisions R1, R2, and R3: Elimination seeds are determined by round robin placement. Placements from round robin are added to placements from elimination, and the lowest number wins. The tie-breaker for the round robin is the fastest non-breakout time in the round robin. The tie-breaker for overall placement is the elimination placement. n All Other Divisions: the highest cumulative points from the round robin(s) win. Ties are decided by: 1. Head-to-head results (total heats won) 2. Fastest non-breakout time in the tourney 3. One throw plastic bowling ball/pins. Raffle We will be having a raffle drawing Sunday afternoon time to be announced. Racing will not stop. Thanks to the many donors for their gracious contributions. Line and Box Judges and Worker Raffle We are running five teams and hosting the event, so we need line and box judge volunteers for each race (please!). Line and box judges will be given a raffle ticket for each race they judge. About every 2 hours a $20 bill will be raffled for the volunteer judges, and $50 will be raffled Sunday at the awards ceremony (from all non-winning tickets). If you must leave before the final raffle drawing(s) be sure to give your ticket(s) to someone. You must claim your prize or another ticket will be drawn at the end of the tournament until the prize is claimed. If you see an empty judge chair, please jump in and judge. Don t know how to judge? Ask to have someone instruct you. Fur Fun club members and their families are not eligible to win, so if you see a Fur Fun member judging, feel free to step in and work so you can get a chance at the raffle!! If you need a refresher course on line and box judging, check out the training video here: http://www.flyball.org/training_videos.html Food n There are a number of fast food (and other) restaurants in very close proximity. If you need suggestions or directions to off-site food, there is a printed list at the pit table. n The concession stand WILL be open this weekend (menu below).
