As of this date there are only two obedience shows and two agility shows left to meet this requirement. A list of fun shows still scheduled to meet this requirement is on the last pages of this newsletter. Dog Council recommends that exhibitors and their dogs attend as many shows as possible for practice and socialization. Agility Practice Indoor Practice July 22nd Beginner at 2:00 Intermediate & Senior at 3:00 Must pre-register Call Alicia Johnston 440-865-4959 $5.00 per dog fee Location in North Ridgeville Outdoor Practice July 3, 10 & 17 Beginner at 6:00 Intermediate & Advanced at 7:00 Location Lorain County Kennel Club, St Rt 511 Oberlin Weather dependent Cancellation will be posted on Dog Council Facebook Page.

Bleachers Are For Spectators It is dangerous for your dog to be in the bleachers at the show barn during a show. He could fall and take you with him. We also ask that you not sit on the first row of the bleachers with your dog. Spectators will also be walking back and fourth in front of the bleachers, stepping over or on your dog. Use either the indoor or outdoor crating area. During the fair, Jr. Fair Board Dog Committee members have the right to dismiss you from the show if you choose to ignore a warning to stay out of the bleachers with your dog. Arm Band Numbers Remember to pick up your arm band number at the first show you attend. This number identifies you and your dog to the judge and is used on the gate sheets by the recording secretary to keep track of scores. This band is always worn on your left arm. If you should lose yours another one can be purchased from Dog Council for $1.00. No HOME MADE armbands are permitted. Sportsmanship Nomination Forms At each Fun Show you should find a Sportsmanship Nomination Box usually at the registration table or the lunch stand. Nominations are accepted for those exhibitors who display some form of exceptional sportsmanship behavior. Nominations can be made by the Judges, Exhibitors, Advisors or Parents. The top nominees will be presented and voted on by those exhibitors attending the awards banquet in October. What To Take To A Fun Show! Making a tack box out of a small toolbox or canvas bag can make getting ready for a show a lot easier. 1. Your Dog (Should be bathed and groomed) 2. Your Dog s Choke Collar, 6 lead, Showmanship Lead and Quick Release Collar. 3. A Water Dish & Water 4. Treats (If you use them) 5. Create or Blanket For Your Dog to Lie On. 6. Lawn Chairs For You And Your Parents 7. Dog s Comb & Brush 8. Your Project and Reference Books. 9. Poop Pick-Up Bags

Premier Exhibitor Skillathon participation is required for Premier Exhibitor. The scoring system for this honor is based on skillathon score, highest showmanship placing and highest placing in other non-exhibition classes. Scoring is a prorated system based on the levels of classes and divisions. Parents Viewing Area Parents, advisors and relatives are asked NOT to stand around the outside of the rings. Please do not block the entrance and exits to the rings. Your presences just outside the ring is distracting to dogs, exhibitors and judges.
