Award photos will follow the completion of each competition. Award recipients are requested to wait for photographs. A group photo will be taken for the top four placements in each class/division and a group photo of the First Place winners in the classes immediately following the Award Ceremony. 3

JUNIORS CLASSIC OBEDIENCE AND RALLY ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Junior Eligibility Requirements Exhibitor must have an AKC Junior Handler number prior to entering. Junior Handler numbers can be requested at: https://images.akc.org/pdf/aejrs3.pdf. Junior Handlers with dogs entered in the event without an obedience/rally title from AKC, or any recognized obedience/rally organization, will need to have a Competition Ready form signed by their trainer that confirms the dog is able to perform all the required exercises safely. 4-H Members who do not have an AKC title on their dog, or a title from any recognized obedience/rally organization, must have a Competition Ready form signed by their project or club leader who works with the member and their dog to confirm they are ready for competition. The Competition Ready form can be located on the Juniors Classic webpage, http://www.akc.org/events/obedience/akc-juniors-classic/. The dog must be owned or co-owned by the Junior Handler or by the Junior Handler s father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather or grandmother, including the corresponding step and half relations, or by a permanent member of the Junior Handler s household. According to the Junior Showmanship Regulations, Section 7. Eligibility of Dog, http://images.akc.org/pdf/rulebooks/rejrsh.pdf. Dog Eligibility Requirements All dogs must have: An AKC Number or Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP Number, http://www.akc.org/register/purebred-alternative-listing/ Foreign registration number and country for an unregistered imported dog AKC Canine Partners SM Program Listing Number. The AKC Canine Partners SM Program is for all dogs, including mixed-breed dogs. Any dogs enrolled with the AKC Canine Partners SM Program to compete at this event will have their $35 registration fee waived. Junior Divisions JUNIORS CLASSIC OBEDIENCE ENTRY INFORMATION Junior Titled (JT) o Junior Handled (JH) o If the dog has earned any AKC obedience titles, the junior must have handled the dog to those titles. Juniors exhibiting dogs without AKC obedience titles are also eligible to be entered in this division. Juniors exhibiting dogs that have earned AKC obedience titles handled by someone other than the junior must be entered in this division. Classes: Dog must be entered at the highest level eligible. All references to titles indicate AKC titles. Beginner Novice o Preferred Novice For dogs without any obedience title or dogs with a Beginner Novice (BN) title, but not a Pre-Companion (PCD) or Companion Dog (CD) title or beyond. All dogs entered will compete twice in the Beginner Novice class. o For dogs with a Pre-Companion (PCD) or Companion Dog (CD) title but not a GN, CDX, PCDX or beyond. All dogs entered will compete twice in the Preferred Novice class. Preferred Open o For dogs with a Graduate Novice (GN), Pre-Companion Dog Excellent (PCDX), Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title or beyond. All dogs entered will compete twice in the Preferred Open class. JUNIORS CLASSIC RALLY ENTRY INFORMATION Eligibility is based on the dog s class eligibility. Classes & Eligibility Rally Novice o Any dog that has not earned qualifying scores toward an AKC Rally Advanced (RA) title prior to the close of entries. Rally Advanced o Rally Excellent o Any dog that has not earned qualifying scores toward an AKC Rally Excellent (RE) title prior to the close of entries. Any dog that has earned qualifying scores or titles toward an AKC Rally Excellent (RE) or Rally Advanced/Excellent (RAE) titles may be entered in this class. OBEDIENCE SCORING INFORMATION Obedience Class scoring will be according to the AKC Obedience Regulations effective December 1, 2015. In addition to scoring the team s performance for each of the obedience exercises, the junior handler will also be judged on the following, each being worth 10 points. 5

OBEDIENCE SCORING INFORMATION CONT D General Appearance of the dog and handler: Dog clean & groomed, proper collar/leash. Handler neatly dressed. Dog and handler look like a team. Interaction/Relationship with dog between exercises: Interacts well with dog and maintains control, moves efficiently between exercises. Ring Awareness: Attention to judge, follows Judge s orders, enters and exits the ring correctly. Attitude of handler: Courteous, exhibits appropriate leadership qualities for dog, maintains a good attitude, helps dog recover as needed, exhibits good sportsmanship. RALLY SCORING INFORMATION All Rally scoring will be according to the AKC Rally Regulations. ENTRY FEES PER DAY First Entry: Obedience or Rally Second Entry of the Same Dog $25.00/per dog $15.00/per dog No dog may be entered more than once in obedience and once in rally. Opening Date/Time for entries is Monday, July 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Closing Date/Time for entries is Friday, October 16, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and will not be accepted until the date and time listed above. Entries not on the Official AKC Juniors Classic Entry Form or photocopies of the entry form without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. No entry shall be made or accepted, which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. In order to submit your entry: It must be delivered by USPS, or a multi-state or multi-national postal or carrier service including but not limited to USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. No entries will be accepted by hand delivery or phone. Mail entry forms and fees to: American Kennel Club, Attn: Companion Events, - Juniors Classic Entry, 8051 Arco Corporate Drive, Ste. 100, Raleigh, NC 27617. Please make checks or money orders payable to AKC Juniors Classic. Inquiries may be directed to Lisa Strickland at NJOC@akc.org. Dog s Call Name: Please be sure to include your dog s call name on the entry forms. This will be used for award presentations. Errors on Entry Forms: Owners are responsible for errors on entry forms and no entry fee will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the trial has closed. Illegible entries: Will not be processed and will be returned to the exhibitor. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. A twenty-five ($25.00) dollar collection fee will be added to the amount of each returned check. There will be no refund for duplicate entries. 6

OFFICIAL AKC JUNIORS CLASSIC ENTRY FORM & INFORMATION CONT D Limited Entries: Entries will be limited to the first 60 dogs in each event, obedience and rally. Notifications will be sent via email to advise you of your entry status. As a class/event fills a waitlist will be kept, i.e., entries received after the limit has been reached will be listed in the order received. If an exhibitor cancels an entry no later than the closing date listed, the first entry on the wait-list will be contacted no later than Monday, October 19, 2015. Confirmation of Entry: You will receive a confirmation email that your entry has been received and accepted. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 2 weeks of sending in an entry please contact us at NJOC@akc.org. Cancellation of Entry: Requests to cancel an entry will be allowed up until the closing date and time, Friday, October 16, 2015 @ 4:00 p.m. You may cancel your entry via email sent to NJOC@akc.org or by fax at (919) 816-4204. Refunds for cancellations will be made within 45 days after the closing date for the event. Changes to Entry Forms: Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to the close of entries. Updates are to be sent to NJOC@akc.org. Bitches in Season: Are not permitted to compete in Obedience or Rally Events. Refunds will be processed if the Trial Secretary is notified no later than on half hour prior to the start of the judging. Veterinarian statements must be provided to the Trial Secretary in writing. They may be hand delivered at the event, emailed to NJOC@akc.org or faxed to (919) 816-4204. Entry Fees: Entry fees are required with each entry. NO ENTRY FEE will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a judge or veterinarian, or barred from competition by the action of the Event Committee. All exhibitors should obtain a copy of the Obedience Regulations and the Rally Regulations by downloading them from the American Kennel Club website at http://www.akc.org/rules/. The obedience event will be judged in accordance with the Obedience Regulations effective December 1, 2015. ADDITIONAL SITE INFORMATION A full service food concession is available on site. The American Kennel Club and the Orange County Convention Center will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items left at the show site. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s) at the show site and hotels. Any exhibitor failing to do so may be asked to leave the show grounds without benefit of refund if the Event Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Cleaning supplies and disposal sites will be available at various locations around the show grounds. Admission Tickets each Junior entered will receive a ticket for each day they are entered. One additional ticket will be included for an adult attending with the junior. These tickets are included in your exhibitor check-in envelope. Additional tickets for family and friends must be purchased. Ticket purchasing information will be available on the AKC web site prior to the event. Entering/Exiting the Facility a hand stamp must be obtained to regain entry into the area and not all exits will have personnel available to stamp upon leaving the facility. Upon arrival have your hand stamped for the day to avoid a delay in re-entry. Review your final confirmation letter for specific locations where stamps will be available. 7

OTHER EVENT ACTIVITIES AKC recognized breeds may be represented at the AKC Meet the Breeds display to help you choose the breed that s right for you. Vendor Booths packed with everything for dogs and their owners. Vendor Attendance vendor invitations for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show are emailed in early July. Two days of action packed competition as the AKC Obedience Classic, AKC Juniors Classic, AKC Agility Invitational and AKC Juniors Agility Competition are held in conjunction with the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship to find the nation s top dogs in the world. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE SECTION CAREFULLY EXHIBITOR CHECK-IN: Obedience and Rally exhibitors will be allowed to check-in and set-up beginning on Friday, December 11 th. Rally exhibitors will also be allowed to check-in and set-up on Saturday, December 12 th. If you cannot check-in until the morning you are competing you must do so 30 minutes prior to the start of judging. You will receive your armband, event catalog and an event souvenir bag at check-in. Once the time and location for check-in is determined all exhibitors will be notified by email. In the event you are not able to check-in and receive your admission tickets prior to Saturday morning, please notify Lisa Strickland at NJOC@akc.org or 919-816-3816. Exhibitors MUST check-in at EACH ring they are exhibiting in. CRATING: Each dog entered in the event will be allotted one 3 x5 space. Un-entered dogs will only be allowed in the facility if they can share the crate with an entered dog, or if their crate can be stacked on top of an entered dog s crate within the 3 x5 space allotted. Soft sided crates are only permitted in the obedience and agility areas. A crate is defined as having a top, bottom and 4 walls, all interconnecting, thus preventing the dog from escaping. Each exhibitor will be required to display an information card on the outside of each crate; card(s) will be supplied at check-in. The information card must have your name and emergency contact information on site. NO EX-PENS will be allowed in the facility. No dogs are permitted to be crated or groomed on any carpeted area. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH: Dogs must be on leash, held by the handler at all times when on the trial grounds except when in the designated warm-up area or competing in the ring. Dogs may NOT be on retractable leads or long-lines while inside the building. Failure to maintain control of a dog may result in an Event Committee hearing. SPECIAL TRAINING COLLARS ARE PROHIBITED. WARM-UP RING: A warm-up ring will be provided for dogs entered in the AKC Obedience Classic and the AKC Junior Classic in accordance with the Obedience Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 33. This ring will be monitored and if there are any problems, the ring will be closed. Exhibitors will be respectful of each other. CATALOGS: All exhibitors will receive a complimentary copy of the commemorative catalog in their check-in packet. Additional copies may be purchased at the event. SAFETY, BEHAVIOR and LIABILITY: The safety of the dog is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of the AKC. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs. Any exhibitor whose dogs create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior, may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such cases, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The American Kennel Club and its agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibilities for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. The American Kennel Club reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against the American Kennel Club or any official thereof. This club agrees to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC Juniors Classic Entry Form for this event. 11
