When Clara weighed the dogs that day, the Dalmatian was 21.1 kg and the Dachshund was 3.1 kg. When Clara weighed them 2 months later, the dogs had grown by an equal amount. The Dalmatian was also 4 times as heavy as the Dachshund. How much weight did each dog put on in the 2 months? Question 2 Alan had $137.30 and Helen had $17.30 in their pockets. When they were walking to school, they spotted some money lying on the ground. They split the money equally between themselves. Alan had thrice as much money as Helen after that. How much money did they find?

Question 3 Sheila went scuba diving and collected some octopus ink. She went back home and made 99.2 liters (99.2 l) of octopus ink soup and 12.4 l of octopus ink gravy. She realized that the soup and the gravy were too thick so she added an equal amount of water to them. After that, she had 5 times as much delicious soup as gravy. How much water did she add? Question 4 Mother Troll picked her nose this morning and collected huge bucketfuls of gross green mucus. She blended it with fresh milk, bananas, chocolate chips and crushed ice and finally had a jugful of mouth-watering mucus milk shake. She poured some mucus shake from the jug into 2 cups - 9.3 l for her husband and 3.7 l for her baby. Her baby began to bawl because he wanted more. She further added an equal amount of milk shake to the 2 cups. Her baby had 2/3 as much milk shake as her husband after that. How much mucus milk shake did her husband and baby drink altogether?

To reward him, I went to a pet shop and bought a chocolate bone with 2/5 of my money. I then spent 2/7 of my remaining money on a doggie ball. Next I bought 8 colorful Frisbees with all the money I had left. Each Frisbee cost 75 each. How much did the chocolate bone cost? Question 6 Andy's house was burgled last night so he went to a pet shop to buy some ferocious pets. He spent 3/7 of his money on a wooly mammoth. He then bought a saber-toothed tiger with 5/9 of his remaining money. He finally bought 3 vicious alligators with all the money he had left. If each alligator cost $25.60, how much did the saber-toothed tiger cost?

Question 7 I went to Baghdad and entered a magic shop there. A forlorn genie in a cage caught my eye so I bought it with 1/6 of my money. I spotted a headless horse next so I bought it with 1/6 of my remaining money. Lastly, I bought 40 magic carpets with all the money I had left. Each carpet cost $14.50. How much did I pay for the headless horse? Question 8 Count Dracula kidnapped my poor math teacher while he was snoring in bed and carried him to his castle. He drank 4/9 of my teacher's blood. His wife then drank 4/7 of the remaining blood. Their 6 children drank all the blood that was left in my math teacher's veins in equal amounts. Each bloodthirsty child drank 6.75 liters of blood. How much more blood than his wife did Count Dracula drink?

Question 9 Sandra told Mandy that her mother gave her 5 blouses which cost the same, 7 skirts which cost the same, and a pair of blue shoes. The total cost was $114.40. The shoes cost $4.50. Each blouse cost $9.80. What was the cost of each skirt? Question 10 I have a Doberman, a Collie and a Pug. Last Sunday, my Doberman gave birth to 8 equalsized puppies, my Collie gave birth to 6 equal-sized puppies and my Pug gave birth to 1 cute puppy. The total mass of the puppies was 47.37 kg. The Pug puppy weighed 0.59 kg. Each Collie puppy weighed 2.93 kg. What was the weight of each Doberman puppy?

Question 11 Emily put 12 sardine cans and 5 penknives into her knapsack, and nothing else, and went hiking yesterday. The total mass of her knapsack with everything inside was 33.17 kg. The mass of the knapsack when it was empty was 0.98 kg. Each sardine can weighed 2.12 kg. When a bear threatened to attack her because it wanted her sardines, she threw 2 penknives at it. What was the total mass of her remaining penknives? Question 12 I have a huge garden which I wanted to populate with beautiful exotic creatures. I went to a pet shop last month and paid a total of $1113.80 for 7 peacocks, 8 chameleons and 1 anaconda. The long anaconda cost $435.20. Each chameleon cost $34.60. Unfortunately I forgot to feed the anaconda, and in its hunger, it swallowed 3 of my favorite peacocks. What was the cost of my remaining peacocks?

Question 13 Sarah had exactly enough money to buy 8 green monkeys at an online zoo auction. Instead, she bought only 5 monkeys. She bought 13 furry tortoises with her remaining money. If each furry tortoise cost $1.50, how much did she pay in total for her 5 monkeys? Question 14 I visited a joke shop last week. I found that I had just enough money to buy 13 Whoopees. Instead I bought 5 Whoopees and spent the rest of my money on 9 exploding golf balls. Each golf ball cost me $10.80. How much did I spend in total on the Whoopees?

Question 15 Arnold had to prepare for a party at his house. He went to the supermarket and found that he had exactly enough money to buy 17 packets of expensive cocktail nuts that were imported from the planet Venus. He bought 6 packets instead. He used up the rest of his money to buy 22 packets of diapers for his aging grandmother. Each packet of diapers cost him $48.40. How much did he spend in total on the cocktail nuts? Question 16 Jennifer wanted to tattoo her body. She realized that she had exactly enough money to get 23 tattoos. She instead decided to get 17 tattoos. Later she spent all of her remaining money on 38 glasses of coffee which she needed to overcome the pain of the tattoos. Each glass of coffee cost $2.10. How much did she spend in total on her tattoos?

The government sent 667 black robots and green robots to kill the aliens. When the battle was finally over, 3/4 of the black robots and 312 green robots were destroyed. The number of green robots standing was equal to the number of black robots after that. How many green robots were there in the beginning? Question 18 Bob and Rob had $556 between them. On Monday, Bob spent 4/5 of his money on a pair of roller skates and Rob spent $352.60 on a bicycle. They had an equal amount of money after that. How much money did Bob have in the beginning?
