Gillian Webb Bailey & Ray Cooper WARCI Stock Show UK Judges Gillian Webb-Bailey & Ray Cooper begin their Australian tour with the 2016 National Extravaganza to be held in Geelong Victoria. We have been lucky enough as a club to secure them for our first five star show for the year the WARCI Stock Show. Following is a bit of background information on our international judges. Gillian Webb - Bailey I was born into the Rabbit Fancy following in the footsteps of my late Father, W.L. Webb(Bill) who was a well known Breeder, Exhibitor and Judge. I am sure he would be delighted that I have been invited to visit Australia. He had the honor of being invited to go to Japan, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Being a member of the B.R.C. I am on the Three Star Life Fancy, Lop, Fur and Rex and most panels of the Specialist Clubs. It was an honor for me to be nominated to serve as President of the B.R.C. in 2009. I have kept a number of breeds of rabbits over the years, but now breed mostly Fancy namely Tans, Silvers and Netherland Dwarfs. I have judged at most of the big shows in the U.K. including Bradford and London. My daughter Gemma judges with me frequently and her oldest daughter Zara has now started to come to the shows with us and exhibit her Netherland Dwarfs, when we are not judging of course!! I have bred and exhibited a number of Champions in my breeds and was fortunate last year to win the National Tan All Tan Show, the Midland Tan Adult Stock Show and the Open Show all in one day under three different Judges, which is quite an achievement. We have many wins with our Silvers and Dwarfs as well. My partner Ray Cooper and I travel around the U.K. judging together. We are usually out somewhere most weekends. I am looking forward very much to judging in Australia and meeting all the Fanciers. I am sure it will be very different from the U.K. I am also quite excited at the thought of meeting up with some English Fanciers that I probably knew many years ago. Ray and I are looking forward very much to exploring your wonderful country. Gillian Webb-Bailey Ray Cooper is judging the Fancy and Fur Shows at the Extravaganza. Ray Cooper I was born in Cardiff, South Wales Continued 3
Gillian Webb Bailey & Ray Cooper WARCI Stock Show UK Judges where I lived for most of my life. Now live in Bedfordshire with Gillian. Have kept rabbits since the 60 s. My love is Dutch Steels and Torts, but have kept Polish, English, Silvers, Dwarfs, Chinchillas, Mini Rex. Have had many good wins but the ultimate in 2007 on winning Best In Show at the U.K. Dutch Y.S.S and A.S.S. with the same rabbit. Over the last few years have travelled the country judging with Gillian. In the past I have judged the London and this year I am judging Dutch and Silvers at Bradford. I look forward very much to visiting your country and sharing your showing experience. Ray Cooper Interesting Facts Toni our Ring Registar has compiled a list of how many of each rings that were sold in what year. A staggering number of 612 X rings were sold in 1995. TRANSFER OF RABBITS AS PER WARCI RULES Any rabbit brought into your stud from any other stud locally or from out of state it MUST be transferred into your name or all kits from any mating belong to the previous owner and any points go to them as well. People need to remember we all hear when rabbits come in; it can never be kept a secret whether we are told from the person buying selling or a friend of either. Transfers cost $1.00 I am sure with the amount you pay for some of these rabbits $1.00 is not much From now on we are going to look into a $5.00 charge per rabbit if the committee finds out. Any queries if you are unsure on whether a Rabbit has been transferred Contact Ring Registrar Toni Page. New Novice Section Are you new to the club or have been a member for less than two years then this section is for you! Novice section, No 234 is open to all members that have been in the club for less than 2 years. Taken from date of membership acceptance. Open to Members that have not yet won a BOB. Rabbits can only win this class once and are ineligable to enter a second time. One class for all Breeds Rung or Unrung Rabbits CCs will not be awarded for this class and Rabbits cannot progress further in show through this class. But there is a ribbon!!! 8
Ring Order Form Please post to: Ring Registrar Toni Page 7 Asquith Court Greenwood WA 6024 Name... Address...... Number of Rings Required $ A B C D E G H K L X OFFICE USE ONLY Ring Numbers The ringing of exhibition rabbits has been a very satisfactory system for more than 60years. But in rare cases harm can be caused because of lack of attention to the rings. All rings should be checked every few days to ensure that foreign matter is not caught up in any ring and that the ring can be easily turned. Rabbits that become over large for the breed and hence the ring) should not be ringed, or the ring should be removed. All rabbits that are sold, as pets need to have their rings removed before sale. 9
