Any disputes are to be brought to the Trial Managers attention as soon as they occur. All dogs must remain on lead unless otherwise directed by a Trial Official, however, there is a lead free area on the eastern side of the grounds

Notes to Exhibitors Double handling and the ring All double handling (i.e. walking around the ring must be done inside the double handling ring. RUNNING OUTSIDE THE RING IS NOT PERMITTED. Double handling is only permitted in the double handling ring and any person who enters the double handling ring enters at their own risk. Children must be over the age of 10 years and supervised by a parent/adult. Access to rings: No person other than officials listed will be admitted to the judging ring with the exception of the Show Manager and the Committee members on official show business only. Under no circumstances shall any person be in the ring, as an official or observer, whilst there is an animal owned or part owned by that person being exhibited in that ring, until judging of the class is announced as being officially completed and numbers have been taken by the Ring Steward. Gradings: the following Gradings may be awarded to exhibits at the Judges discretion. Promising/Very Promising to exhibits under 12 months of age entered in Baby, Minor and Puppy Classes. Good/ Very Good to exhibits 12 months of age and over, entered in Junior, Intermediate and Open Classes. Excellent and GSDCA Medallion to exhibits 24 months and over entered in Open Class that has been classified Class 1 or Class 11 under the GSDCA Breed Survey Scheme. Exhibitor s Vests: PLEASE RETAIN if exhibiting the same animal on Sunday Otherwise, vests must be handed to the ring officials before leaving the judging ring. Failure to do so will incur a $35 charge for replacement vest. Ground Security: The organizers of the Show will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to exhibitors property. Hot Weather precautions: Please check regularly on dogs which are left in trailers and cars. Exhibitors are advised to increase their level of fluid intake (no alcohol) in order to avoid heat stress and/or heat stroke when showing dogs in hot weather. Ms Heather MacDonald UK Saturday Conformation Judge Kennel Conbhairean was first registered in 1999. Since that time we have bred 40 litters.following a lifelong involvement with GSD, I have been actively involved in the German Shepherd Breed as an exhibitor since 1995 and as a breeder since 1999. My husband and I have exhibited very successfully under the Conbhairean affix both in the UK and in Europe. I have been a fully active judge of GSD breed shows since 2002. Since then I have completed the full criteria of exams, seminars and assessment s which is required of the UK Kennel Club s judging programme to become a Championship Show judge of GSD s and as well as judging regularly in the UK, I have judged in Ireland, Norway, Jamaica, Australia and New Zealand and I very much look forward to judging in your beautiful country.i have been a member of the South of Scotland GSD club since 1995, as show secretary in 2003 and then as Secretary in 2009. In this time I have successfully organised and managed several open and championship shows as well as our regular obedience-training club where we encourage active participation in the KCGC Award Scheme. I am also a member of the German SV since 2003 and the GSD League of GB since 2000. I am also the chairperson of the SPG, one of the founder groups of the GSDL/BRG, where we support the aims and objectives of the WUSV/SV. I also sit on the committee of the GSDL/BRG. I am an active member of Forth Sports Dog Club within the working dog branch of the GSDL. I take a very active part in the training of my dogs in the sport of IPO as well as competing at trials under both SV and FCI approved judges. I assist in all aspects of IPO dog sport and the organisation of events, to encourage participation by new people. Since breeding our first litter in 2001, we have now bred/owned 15 x UK Champion German Shepherd Dogs, with many other s achieving high awards and top honours, including multiple group placings at all breed Championship shows. As well as exhibiting in the UK, we regularly compete in Europe where we have achieved outstanding results making several top 20 placements with Conbhairean homebred dogs at the prestigious German Sieger Show (BSZS) with some achieving top 5 placements in both young and working classes. To date we have achieved Korklasse with 30 Conbhairean homebred dogs and have others in training for next year. At our own British Sieger Show we have achieved the highest achievable placements of VA1, VA2 and vice Sieger twice with different males, Kennel Group winners several times and many more SG1 and V1 placements. I have also competed at numerous other Sieger show in Europe with Conbhairean dogs. In the breed s annual top placements for the UK, we have achieved consistent top 10 placings and achieved the honour of Top Kennel and Top Breeder on numerous occasions. Mrs Melanie Groth (NSW) Sunday Conformation Judge Background My involvement in German Shepherd Dogs began at an early age through my mother, Phyl Ireland, (Brackenbrae est. 1955). Growing up with German Shepherds has led to a life-long involvement. I exhibited my first dog at the age of 9 at the Brisbane Royal in1971. I lived through the lifting of the ban and idealism was instilled in me from an early age. The German Shepherd standard, anatomy and performance are absolutely paramount to preserving the breed s health and wellbeing. It is my view that German Shepherds must be built and bred for purpose. This underpins my judging, surveying and educational advice. Involvement in the Breed My sister, Nicky Jones and I established the Edlenblut Kennel in 1982 with Brackenbrae Disco and Merkuri aus dem Schwarzen Zwinger being the principle breeding bitches, after importing a number of animals from Europe. Progeny from the breeding combinations across the Brackenbrae lines contributed to Breeders Group wins at several Australian Nationals and the Main Breed Evaluation in 1987. Undoubtedly, the highlight for the kennel was breeding Edlenblut Orkan who was Australia s first and dual sieger in 1987 and 1988. In 2001, I moved to the United Kingdom for a period of three years. During that time, I judged, stewarded and attended shows all over the United Kingdom. This proximity to Europe enabled me to travel to sieger, landesgruppen and zucht shows in Germany, Sweden, Austria and Italy, learning and consolidating my knowledge of the generations and bloodlines behind the dogs here in Australia today. A change in family circumstance in 2008, meant I was unable to continue breeding due to living arrangements, however, that did not quell my interest in dogs, with partnerships in two outstanding male imports, handling competitively for friends and breeders, judging and surveying. I gained my judges licence in 1991 becoming a Breed Surveyor in 1995. I have judged in all states of Australia (with the exception of the Northern Territory); the North and South islands of New Zealand; Indonesia; England and Ireland. In 2012, I took a break from surveying for three years, re-joining the survey team in 2016, after instigating the need for a nation-wide evaluation of the Breed Survey scheme in Australia in late 2015. The results of the survey led to a comprehensive analysis of the data and subsequent collaborative workshops exposed council executive, club delegates, surveyor/judges present to excellent professional learning. Recommendations from this forum and evaluation have resulted in three working parties being formed to address the issues raised by the membership. This has been a positive step forward for our scheme and improving relationships with one another. This led to me taking on the National Breed Commission portfolio in 2017 and 2018.

Barbara Murfett is an Obedience, Rally O, Agility & DWD Judge with International experience. She has been a member of Dogs Qld since1976 and appointed as Councillor in 2007. She was elected Director in 2013 and again in 2015 and committed to continuing to represent and serve our members & promote the sporting disciplines. In 2009 Barbara was invited to be the ANKC Chairperson of the Dances With Dogs National Committee and continues to hold that position. Barbara is also the Dogs Qld representative on the ANKC National Obedience, Rally Obedience, Track & Search, Tracking & Endurance Committee. In 1989 she gained her UD Licence and since then has continued to be involved in Judges training. In that time she has judged many National Trials, including a couple of German Shepherd Dog National Obedience Trials. Barbara has recently Judges and conducted Judges Training in Singapore & Malaysia. Over the years, she has shown & trialled Irish, English & Gordon Setters as well as King Charles Cavalier Spaniels. Barbara of course also Judged at the recent 45 th German Shepherd Dog Council National Show & Trial held in Brisbane May 2017 She is very much looking forward to judging this 2018 German Shepherd Dog Club of Qld Restricted Obedience Trial held in conjunction with the 62 nd German Shepherd Dog Club of Qld Inc Championship Show & would like to wish all competitors in the trial, including of course, those of you competing for the Best Dual Performance in Show & Trial Good luck & a fun day to all
