The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their imm. families. A dog may not be exhibited in this class after official notification from the CKC that the dog has won the title. No dog may be entered in Rally Nov. A & B in any one trial. A person may enter more than one dog in this class NOVICE B any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced class is earned. The owner or any other person may handle a dog in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class ADVANCED A This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (RN) title but have not won the Rally Advanced title or any CKC Novice Ob. Title. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their imm. families. No dog may be entered in Rally Advanced A & B in any one trial. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. ADVANCED B This class is for dogs that have won the Rally Novice title. A dog may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. CHAMPIONS AND CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS Section 1--A dog awarded Winners at a Championship show held under the Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0-5) and the determination of the number of championship points to be accredited to a dog awarded winners shall be provided hereunder. Section 2--The schedule to be employed in the determination of the numbers of points to be allocated to a dog awarded Winners shall be as follows: DOGS COMPETING 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more Points allocated 0 1 2 3 4 5 In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall be included in the calculation for Championship points The new system provides for additional points if a dog awarded Winners also places in the Group as listed below: BREEDS COMPETING DOG PLACEMENT at Group level 1st. 2nd. 3rd. 4th. 13 or more 5 4 3 2 10-12 breeds 4 3 2 1 6-9 breeeds 3 2 1 1 5 breeds 2 1 1 1 4 breeds 2 1 1 0 3 breeds 2 1 0 0 2 breeds 1 0 0 0 1 breed 0 0 0 0 A class dog awarded Best in show at an all-breed championship show will be credited with five (5) points inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In NO CASE may a dog earn more than five (5) points at a single show. In order for a dog to be recognized as a champion and its owner provided with a Championship Certificate, the dog must (a) earn at least ten (10) points under 3 different judges, (b) be individually registered in the records of the C.K.C. or have an Event Registration Number, and (c) have earned at least one 2-point in either at the breed or at the group level (15.1.13) BEST PUPPY IN BREED Where a dog awarded Best of Breed is not a puppy, those puppies which have not been defeated either directly or indirectly by another puppy in the breed will compete for this award.judging follows the award for Best of Breed. A puppy awarded Best Puppy in Breed is NOT required tocompete for Best Puppy in Group. MOVING CLASS DOGS TO SPECIALS A DOG WHICH IS INDIVIDULALLY REGISTERED IN THE RECORDS OF THE Canadian Kennel Club or has an ERN Number at the time of closing of the entries, and has completed the requirements for a championship in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 20 of the Dog Show Rules, after the closing date and time for entries for a show, but whose championship is yet unconfirmed by the CKC may be transferred from one of the regular classes to "Specials Only", providing that the transfer is submitted to the Show Secretary in writing at least one (1) hour prior to the opening of the show by the owner or handler. Effective January 1994: If your dog has the required number of championship points and you do not have your registration number before the entries close, and you receive you registration before the date of the show, you may move your dog up to Specials if you provide the show secretary with the registration number and the dog has been entered in the classes as a listed dog. The show Superintendent will be in full charge of these shows. 2. The entry of a dog cannot be altered to cancelled after entries close. Except in the case of Rule 8.2.5 (error in age specified class, date of birth, or sex). 3. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs, regardless of how or by whom the entry was made. 4. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry, subject to CKC rules. 5. Private exercise pens will be permitted only on the approval of of the Show Superintendent, and only if space permits. Please check with the Show Superintendent. 6. There will be designated exercise areas. Dogs are not to be exercised nor vehicles parked except as stipulated. This rule will be strictly enforced. 7. Smoking is not allowed in the building. 8. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, sick, lame or in season (except in the case of Obedience or Rally Obedience entries) or excused by the judge or veterinarian or barred from competition because it was incorrectly entered. 9. Obedience Exhibitors: Any dog holding the American title in a Particular class must enter the B class in Canada in that Obedience Class. Fees for a bitch in season will be refunded providing the Owner/Agent produces a veterinarian s certificate TWO hours prior to judging. 10. The Fort Garry Kennel Club will use diligence and care for the safety of all dogs exhibited, but it cannot be responsible for the loss or damage of livestock, persons or property whether the result of accident or otherwise. 11. Dogs not entered in the shows will not be allowed on the premises; except those meeting In Transit rules. 12. Dogs not required for further judging may be excused. 13. If, because of riots, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of The Fort Garry Kennel Club it is impossible to open or complete the show(s), NO refund of entry fee(s) will be made. 14. Exhibitor s information and judging schedules will be mailed out as soon as possible after closing date. 15. There will be an In Transit area. DOG SHOW RULE 4.1.3 A judge officiating at a show held under these rules shall not be subjected to indignities of any kind during the progress of the show. It shall be the duty and obligation of the club holding the show to see that this rule is effectively carried out. Infringements of this rule are subject to disciplinary action. DOG SHOW RULE 11.1 (UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT) It shall be deemed unsportsmanlike conduct if a person during the running of, or in connection with an event abuses or harasses a judge, show official or any other person present in any capacity. CLASSIFICATIONS: The following classes will be provided for, divided by sex: JR PUPPY-6 Mos. & under 9 mos; SR. PUPPY 9 mos. & under 12 mos. 12-18 month class; CANADIAN BRED for dogs born in Canada (Champions of any country excluded) BRED BY EXHIBITOR for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the BREEDER/CO-BREEDER; OPEN For all dogs SPECIALS ONLY: For Canadian Champions EXHIBITION ONLY: For all dogs over 6 months of age and eligible for CKC registration. Puppies 3-6 months--rule 12.2.2 Dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age may be entered for Exhibition Only, provided that the owner of the puppy (s) has also entered a dog in one of the regular official classes.
