THE AGILITY CLUB STARTERS AGILITY CHALLENGE RULES 2018 1. The classes should be billed appropriately as either The Agility Club Large Starters Challenge, The Agility Club Medium Starters Challenge or The Agility Club Small Starters Challenge and scheduled accordingly as a Large, Medium or Small combined 1-2 Agility class. 2. The competition will be run under the relevant Kennel Club Regulations in force at that time. All handlers will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules and regulations. 3. Each Heat is open to all 1-2 dogs of the correct size for each heat, each heat will offer awards for the heights on offer as follows; Rosettes 1st 10th in Large height, trophies to 1st and 2nd and Rosettes 1st 5th in Medium and Small heights, trophy to 1st. Where the LHO is offered then Large, Medium and Small dogs will have combined awards. (P.A.D.S. will provide additional rosettes down to 10% of entry) 4. ONLY dogs handled by an Agility Club member at the time of competing (date of joining/renewal must be prior to the first day of the show) may qualify for the Final. In order to compete in the Final you must also be a current member of The Agility Club on the day of the final. 5. The competition will normally consist of between ten and fifteen Heats. The two highest placed Agility Club members in each Heat will go through to the Final, providing they have achieved an awarded place as detailed in paragraph 3. 6. Both handler and dog may only qualify once for each height Final. Each handler and dog pairing may only qualify once for the Final. In the event of the highest placed dog(s) having qualified previously, the next highest placed dog(s) will qualify.* 7. Finalists should normally compete at the height at which they qualified however if a heat takes place at a show with no LHO, they can choose to compete at the final at LHO. Should a handler qualify at LHO and wish to compete at FHO in the final this would be permitted. (Dogs will NOT be allowed to compete at LHO if qualified at FH in a heat offering both height options) * The show secretary must be informed if a handler or dog that has already qualified for the same height Final is placed in a subsequent Heat. THE KENNEL CLUB OLYMPIA AGILITY STAKES Supported by Skinner s RULES 2018 All events must be judged under the appropriate Kennel Club Regulations H & H(1) in force at the time of the event. Competitors entering any competition will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules. All heats must take place at Kennel Club licensed shows and the class name in the schedule should replicate exactly the name of the competition as stated in these rules. All Kennel Club supported competitions must be judged using standard marking. If the entry for the heat exceeds 360 the class must be split into two equal parts. If the entry exceeds 540 the class must be split into three equal parts. No part, if split, may be less than 150 dogs. Rosettes and awards remain unchanged if the heat is split and will be given for each part. Dogs entered in any heats must be eligible for the competition entered and judges retain the right to check the height of any dog or ask to see the height stated in the Kennel Club Record Book. The handler that qualifies a dog for the Quarter-Final / Semi-Final / Final will be the handler that competes, handler substitutions are not allowed. Dogs cannot compete in more than one competition at Olympia. If a dog qualifies for more than one Quarter-Final or Semi-Final at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival the first successful qualification will take precedence and the dog will be withdrawn from any further Quarter / Semi-Finals and replaced by a reserve. Once a dog has qualified for Olympia, or as a reserve the handler is deemed to have accepted an offer to compete at Olympia, it invalidates any reserve places in any other competition. If the first invitation to compete is declined it invalidates any reserve places in any other competition.

All winners of the Olympia Grand Finals will be invited to compete in the following year s Quarter-Final or Semi-Final at the International Agility Festival without qualifying through the usual procedure via heats. For the Novice winner this will be dependent on the dog still being eligible for grades 3 5 on the date of entries closing for the Kennel Club International Agility Festival (These rules would be amended if any changes are made to Kennel Club Agility Regulations during the course of the competition year). THE KENNEL CLUB OLYMPIA LARGE DOG NOVICE AGILITY STAKES Supported by Skinner s This competition will be classified as combined s 3, 4 and 5 and judged under the Kennel Club Regulations for standard classes. Dogs should be eligible to enter a 3, 4 or 5 class at the time of qualifying for the Quarter-Final. Any subsequent wins gained by the dog will not alter its eligibility to compete in the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final or Final. Competitors may enter more than one dog in a heat. Competitors may qualify more than one dog for the Quarter-Finals and also the Semi-Final at Olympia, however only the competitor s highest placed dog at the Semi-Final will qualify for the Olympia Grand Final. Once a dog has qualified for the Quarter-Final, further heats may be entered for competition although any placings in these further heats will not affect the dog s eligibility for the Quarter-Final/Semi-Final. The first 5 previously unqualified placed dogs from each heat will go forward to the Quarter-Finals at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival held annually in August, if the heat is split then three dogs will be taken from each part. The first 20 dogs from this Quarter-Final will qualify for the Semi-Final at the London Olympia Christmas International Horse Show. The 20 dogs who qualify for Olympia will compete in a Semi-Final at Olympia. The top 10 highest placed dogs in the Semi-Final will qualify for the evening Grand Final at Olympia (subject to the above). Those dogs eligible to compete in Novice Large Dog Agility competitions are those measuring over 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) at the withers. THE KENNEL CLUB OLYMPIA LARGE DOG ABC AGILITY STAKES Supported by Skinners This competition is a special agility competition open to all dogs excluding Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs and any of their crosses. In the event of a dispute over the parentage of a dog, a decision will be left to the judge s discretion. Those dogs eligible to compete in competition for Large dogs are those measuring over 430 mm (1 foot 5 inches) at the withers and open to dogs in grades 3 to 7 and judged under the Kennel Club Regulations for standard classes. Competitors may enter more than one dog in a heat. Competitors may qualify more than one dog for the Semi-Final, however only the competitor s highest placed dog at the Semi-Final will qualify for the Olympia Grand Final. Once a dog has qualified for the Semi-Final/Final, further heats may be entered for competition although any placings in these further heats will not affect the dog s eligibility for the Semi-Final/Final. The first three previously unqualified placed dogs from each heat will go forward to the Semi-Final at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival held annually in August, the first 10 dogs from this Semi-Final will qualify for the Final at the London Olympia Christmas International Horse Show (subject to the above). A maximum of two representatives of any one breed may be invited to the Final from the Semi-Final. This decision will be at the organiser s discretion. ADAMS JUMPING CUP QUALIFIER RULES (Normal progression class) Finals to be held at the Adams Agility show at the end of the days classes on the 25th August 2018 1. The competition is open to Kennel Club registered dogs eligible to compete at Large height (Full Height only) s 1-4 and 5-7 (separate qualifiers and final). 2. Handlers who gain a qualifying place in a heat with a previously qualified dog should inform the Show Secretary on the date of the show of this fact. 4. The first 2 highest placed dogs who have not already qualified will be invited to compete in the final. Reserves will be taken as appropriate 5. If a dog has qualified for the 1-4 Final and then later qualifies for the 5-7 Final, the qualification for the 1-4 Final will be void and a reserve dog from that qualifier will be called up. 6. In the event of a dog being unable to compete in the Final due to unavailability, illness or injury the reserves from that heat will be called up in numerical order. 7. In the event of a handler being unable to compete in a heat due to illness or injury a substitute handler for the qualifying dog will be allowed to run the dog. 8. In the event of a dog being unable to compete in the final due to unavailability, illness or injury the reserves from that heat will be called up in numerical order. 6. Rosettes will be provided to 5th place, trophies to 2nd place. JUST FOR PETS ALLSORTS COMBINED JUMPING (Special) 1. These classes are for dogs, s 1 to 3 and s 4 to 7, who are unable to jump their full height for any reason. 2. The jumps will be set at micro height for the first part of the class, then at small height and finally at medium height. 3. Handlers may choose which height they wish to jump on the day, please note this means your running orders will not reflect the height you are jumping, so please take careful note of the height the jumps are set at as the class progresses. 4. There will be no tyre, spread jump or weaves in this class. 5. Dogs entered in this class may not enter any other class on the same day. Rosettes will be presented to the top 10% of dogs, trophies to 2 nd with further prizes donated by Just for pets ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES In the following definitions of classes First Prizes or other prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed Championship Agility, Premier Agility, Open Agility or Limited Agility Shows (i.e. special classes and invitational events excepted). Only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the judge will count towards grade progression. Standard classes may be scheduled for Agility Shows, as Agility classes or Jumping classes. All standard classes must contain the Weaving Poles obstacle. Standard Agility classes must contain the following elements: A Ramp, Dog Walk and See- Saw. With this proviso classes are defined as follows:- Class Structure. A Class may either be held as a d Class or a Combined Class. A d Class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive s with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A Combined Class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results. Progression. Progression from each will require one Agility win or three Jumping wins in standard classes at that grade, at either Full Height or the Lower Height Option, except that progression from 5 will require 3 wins at 5, one of which must be an agility class. Progression from 6 will require 4 wins at 6, two of which must be agility classes. Results from Combined Classes will only count towards progression from the dog s current grade.

Lower Height Option. Societies may offer the Lower Height Option to all dogs in that height category and may be offered at all grades. It is to be run as part of any Standard class as defined in the regulations and must be clearly identified in the schedule. Each relevant class will have two heights with a change part way through to raise/lower the jump heights and competitors must run at their entered height. The order in which the heights will run must be detailed on the ring cards/ring plan. There will be only one course walking at the start of the class. In a class where the Lower Height Option is available show organisers may offer one set of awards by combining the results of each height or may offer separate awards for each height category. Competitors will be allowed to walk the course set at Small, Medium or Large height without their dog(s) before the class begins. Hurdles may be raised/lowered during the course walking time if multiple heights are offered within the same class. When the Lower Height Option is scheduled a dog may only be entered at either the Full Height or at the Lower Height and it cannot compete at a different height in any other class at that competition, including special classes. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. Points Progression. At the handler s discretion a dog may progress up to 4 by winning 100 points at each grade, using the Agility Warrant points scheme (Regulation K3.c refers), except that there is no requirement for a minimum number of agility points. If this method of progression is selected, the handler must ensure the Show Secretary signs the dog s Agility Record Book at the first show entered at the higher grade. There is no time limit on this progression, however once a dog has progressed, it cannot return to a previous grade. Progression on points must be done prior to the closing date of entries. It is not possible to change a grade on points once the entries have closed. STANDARD CLASSES Only first prizes and points gained in standard classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows may be used for progression through the classes. (A dog is only eligible for one grade). In defining the eligibility of the owner or handler for 1, the three jumping wins and points progression referred to in the definition apply only to one dog and not an accumulation of dogs. 1 (Elementary) For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of 1, (Elementary) are not eligible for this class. 2 (Starters) Open to dogs which are not eligible for s 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, or elected to progress on points from 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of 2 (Starters) are not eligible for this class. 3 (Graduate) Open to dogs which are not eligible for 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for 4, 5, 6 or 7. 4 (Novice) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at 3 or elected to progress on points from 3 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for 3, 5, 6 or 7. 5 (Intermediate) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at 4 and are not eligible for 3, 4, 6 or 7. 6 (Senior) Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 3 first places at 5 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, one of which must have been gained in an Agility (not Jumping) Class, and are not eligible for 3, 4, 5 or 7. 7 (Advanced) Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 4 first places at 6 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, 2 first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes. SPECIAL CLASSES Societies may schedule classes other than those defined above as Special classes. The eligibility for Special classes must be defined by the Society and included in the schedule. The word Special must be included in the title of the class. Where special classes are classified for older and/or inexperienced dogs, the height of the hurdles, the A-ramp, the dog walk and the length of the long jump, may be reduced below the dimensions specified in these regulations, in which case such dimensions must be included in the class definition in the show schedule. Marking for special classes may deviate from marking for standard classes, but must be specified in the schedule. Wins, places and clear rounds in special classes will not count towards agility warrant points or grade progression at Kennel Club shows.
