Welcome one and all to another year of the CBS Inc. Last year saw some great competition on the show bench from both open and beginner classes. I have no doubt that this year will prove just as interesting. As most of you may have heard, my family and I have hung up our nest boxes for good. I must say that our time in the club has been rewarding and at times quite interesting. The friendships we have forged are a tribute to the diversity found in small societies such as this one. They have aided in our growth, not only the wealth of information shared about the birds, but a multitude of different life experiences shared and learned. I will try to hold all of my current positions in the club until the AGM so you can still contact me for show entries, rings etc.(please note that entries and ring orders will be taken by Brian Lewandowsky) Finally I would like to wish the Club all the best in the future, and keep up the tremendous effort you put in. Kind Regards, Troy Williams Editor. A big thank-you to Troy for forwarding the incomplete Magazine to me. I ve put together a couple of schedules and made the necessary alterations to the calendar as discussed and decided at our meetings. Hopefully this will ensure all members receive sufficient information to enjoy the activities of this great Club. If you are willing to fill the role of editor, even temporarily, please contact any one on the Club s committee. Thank you. Working with you Kev

ANNUAL AUCTION LETTER TO ALL MEMBERS Capricornia Budgerigar Society Inc. The Secretary CBS Inc PO Box 5451 CQMC Rockhampton Queensland 4701 To all CBS Members 12 February. 2007 Dear Member Following the great success of the 2006 Winter Auction, our Club is again conducting a major Auction on the Queen s Birthday weekend. Birds from top southern breeders and exhibitors as well as from local Zone fanciers will be assembled. It is anticipated that fanciers from Cairns to the Gold Coast will be attending. The venue for this year s auction is the Performing Arts Centre, North Rockhampton High School, Simpson Street, North Rockhampton. Off-street parking from Simpson Street is available. It is with great pleasure that we invite you to submit birds for benching at this event. It is expected that birds offered will be no more that 2 years of age (rung 2005 and onwards), and that freighting to and from Rockhampton will be organised and paid for by you. However, care of the birds, show cages, benching etc will be fully organised by the CBS. Capricornia Budgerigar Society Inc. will retain a 10% commission on the selling price. An entry fee of one dollar per bird also applies. As part of our advertising we wish to place a catalogue on our club web site to generate interest. It would be appreciated if you could provide details on the attached proforma and return these to me by April 10. This should ensure that the catalogue reaches cyberspace and the fanciers in many Queensland Clubs by the end of April. In anticipation of a profitable and successful auction, thank you for your support. It would be appreciated if you could advise me if you are able to provide up to eight birds by April 10. Thank you for your consideration and support. Yours fraternally, Kevin O Callaghan Secretary, Capricornia Budgerigar Society Inc. E-Mail: kevocall@optusnet.com.au
