Where the Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Show respectively. Similarly, if the Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it should also automatically be Best Puppy in Show respectively. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

15. It is not acceptable to handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not to touch the ground when on the move. Exhibitors should note that such practices could constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11 16. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition. 17. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 18. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events. When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry. 19. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered. Puppies of 4-6 calendar months of age may be entered Not for Competition. 20. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible. 21. The show will be held under Kennel Club rules and regulations. Every exhibitor making an entry or entries at this show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by these Rules and Regulations and it is on this understanding only that entries are accepted 22. Entry fees will not be refunded. Returned cheques will not be re-presented and for any cheque that is refused by the bank for any reason whatsoever, there will be an additional handling charge of 10.00 and any dog(s) entered will be excluded from the show. Any subsequent non-payment in full by cash or postal order only, will be referred to the Kennel Club after 21 days from the date of the show. 23. No animal other than an exhibit duly entered at the show will be allowed within the precincts of the show during its continuance except by permission of the Committee of the Kennel Club. 24. All dogs must be registered at the Kennel Club before the closing date for entries. 25. Whist everything will be done to ensure that a competitor will be in the ring on time, the Club cannot be held responsible for any missed class, 26. Puppies over 4 months of age on the day may be brought to the show, but details must be given to the Show Manager on the day. DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES (N.B. Societies may accept such entries from breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day, such entries may be accepted on any day from any breed. The Kennel Club would like to remind exhibitors of its proof of posting policy. Whilst it is understood that, on occasion, entries for shows do get lost in the post, it is disheartening that it appears that a small number of unsportsmanlike exhibitors may be exploiting the Proof of Posting system by various means. In order to track persistent offenders, and to put a stop to this unsportsmanlike behaviour, a Proof of Posting database is in use which lists everyone who makes an entry on the day of a show. The database is updated on receipt of show reports and lists all those exhibitors reported as having entered on the day of the show. All exhibitors will be asked to provide their proof of posting and those who repeatedly enter on the day will be required to send all future entries by Registered Post or to enter online. If further entries on the day are made, the only proof of posting that will be accepted is the show society s confirmation of receipt or online receipt. Failure to provide such proof could result in the disqualification of awards, as referred to in Regulations F(1)9, G23.c, H10.d, L11.c and S9.d.
