Entry will not be accepted if the trial entered is at full numbers. Please note all day of entry must be on Approved entry forms (some will be provided at the show secretaries table) and only accepted if paid in cash or money order. No personal cheques or credit card payments can be accepted at the show. Pre-paid Catalogues only - $3.00 (must be picked up at the show will not be mailed) cost at show $5.00 very limited number **Dogs entered in an unofficial class must also be entered in an official class or exhibition only All entries must be submitted on Official CKC entry forms. Overpayments of entries will be considered donations to the club. The above fees include $4.00 + GST service charge payable to the CKC for every dog entered in an official class. Listing Fees: If you are unable to supply an official CKC individual registration number, the listing fee must accompany your entry NOTE: No entry will be accepted without entry fees. Tendering of an NSF cheque or declined Credit card shall be considered NON-PAYMENT OF ENTRY FEES is an offense punishable by disciplinary action and cancellation of awards by the CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB. Charges for any NSF cheques or declined Visa/MC issued to Labrador Retriever Club of Alberta will be $25.00 No post-dated cheques will be accepted. OVERPAYMENT of entry fees will not be refunded. To comply with CKC, no entries will be accepted, altered, cancelled, substituted after the official closing date and time for entries (Except as provided for in Chapter 13, Section 13.4 of the Dog Show Rules) Telephone and Telegraph entries cannot be accepted unless during a postal strike. GENERAL INFORMATION AND REGULATIONS 1. CHAPTER 6.3.3 CKC DOG SHOW RULES - A judge officiating at a show /trial held under these rules shall not be subjected to indignities of any kind during the progress of the show/trial. It shall be the duty and obligations of the club holding the show/trial to see that this rule is effectively carried out. 2. CHAPTER 28.1.1 & 28.1.2, CKC SHOW DOGS RULES - "The participation of any manner or in any capacity at a competitive event held under these Rules shall be considered a privilege accorded any person by the CKC and such privilege may be extended and withdrawn by the Discipline Committee." Any person availing himself of the privilege of participating in any manner, shape or form and in any capacity, including that of a spectator as a competitive event held under these rules shall, by such participation, be deemed to have agreed to any authority of the CKC and it's Board of Directors." 3. ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE ACKNOWLEDGED OR REFUNDED (AFTER CLOSING DATE) In the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a veterinarian, or a judge, or barred from competition by act of the show/trial committee or because it has been entered incorrectly except as provided for in "4" below. If because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the Labrador Retriever Club of Alberta, it is impossible to open or complete the show, NO REFUND of entry fees will be made. 4. ENTRY FEES WILL BE REFUNDED WHEN A BITCH ENTERED IN OBEDIENCE COMES INTO SEASON. Any female entered in the OBEDIENCE trials who, because of because of being in season, cannot compete will have the entry fee refunded. A VETERINARIAN"S CERTIFICATE (certifying that the bitch was in season within 10 days preceding the trial) must be delivered to the show/trial Secretary PRIOR to the commencement of that trial's judging. This does not apply to the Championship show, as this condition is not a disqualification in conformation. 5. The official Veterinarian is "ON CALL". Anyone who wishes to have his or her service should approach the Show Superintendent who will arrange for the Veterinarian's attendance. Please note that the person requesting the veterinarian's service will meet any charge for this service. 6. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show/trial, which will be governed by the CKC rules. Dogs must be on the show grounds one hour prior to the scheduled judging of their breed. Dogs, which are not required for further judging, may be excused. Dogs must be ready for judging. The club and it's superintendent will not be responsible and are not obliged to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of breed and class judging. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class or group. Owners or agents are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the ring. 7. The show committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident, or other misfortune, to dogs, exhibitors, patrons or property. 8. All empty rings are to be kept free of dogs. Dogs and children must be under control at all times. All dogs must be kept on max 6' leash, unless competing in Obedience Ring. 9. DOGS MUST BE EXERCISED IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Persons exercising dogs outside of the designated area who make no effort to clean up may be disqualified from that day's show/trial. 10. No dogs will be allowed on the show site unless entered in the show or trial or entered in exhibition only. Any dogs In Transit will be asked to prove age - CKC registration certificate - and must be registered with Show Secretary Chapter 13.10.1 & 13.10.2 CKC SHOW DOG RULES 11. All entries must be typed or distinctly printed. Owners are responsible for errors on the entry forms. The LRCA does not assume any responsibility for incorrect information on an entry form due to illegibility of information submitted by the owner or owner's agent or entering a dog in a class which the dog in not eligible to enter. 12. Any ENTRY may be withdrawn PRIOR to the date and time of closing by phone, provided that the Show Secretary receives withdrawal of entry in writing within 7 days after closing. Entries withdrawn by phone, but not confirmed in writing within the allowable time will be considered as valid and appear in the Show Catalogue, in which case, fees will not be refunded. 13. No signs stating dogs/puppies for sale will be allowed on show site. However, communication with the public to promote your particular breed is encouraged. 14. Please obey posted parking signs. The LRCA will not be responsible for parking tickets incurred by exhibitors who illegally park in fire lanes or other designated no parking zones 15. CKC RULE 8.5.8 In the case of a judge change (substitute or overload) an exhibitor may enter a dog under the replacement judge providing that the dog is entered in one of the regular classes of a show being held at the same venue by the same club and has been assigned a competition number. A new entry, along with accompanying fees, will be accepted by the show secretary up to one hour prior to the start of the show. 16. Exhibitors affected by judge changes due to overloads may withdraw their entries up to one hour before judging of the breed, providing that notice of withdrawal is made in writing. All entry and listing fees will be refunded. 17. New rule 12.2.2 Dogs of the age of 3 to 6 months may be entered as exhibition only, ONLY if the exhibitor has a dog entered in the Regular official classes. LRCA has the right to restrict the entry of 3-6 month old dogs to 2 per exhibitor. These puppies may not compete in any events, official or unofficial and are not required to be listed in the catalogue. 18. The LRCA reserves the right to remove from the show and trials any person or dog for any just cause. Any dog excused by the show superintendent or veterinarian for any reason shall not compete in any classes or accept any awards for the durations of the shows or trials. No refund of any fees will be made. 19. Exhibitors are reminded to respect hospitality facilities. The LRCA reserves the right to refuse future entries from any exhibitor who creates excessive destruction or disruption to the host facility (Hotel, Motel, or Campground) 20. Volunteers, show officials and exhibitors shall not be subjected to indignities by fellow exhibitors/participants at this show. LRCA holds the right to have an exhibitor removed from the show precincts for any behaviours that do not show respect of others.

CLASSIFICATIONS (please see rulebooks for complete classifications) The following classes will be offered: PRE-NOVICE NOVICE A NOVICE B NOVICE C OPEN HA & 18A OPEN HB & 18B mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has not earned the title of P.C.D (Pre-Companion Dog). Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class and must have an additional handler for each dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercise. A dog that has earned the title of C.D. is not eligible for this class. This class is an elective class and earning the title is not a requirement to advance to the Novice Classes. mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has not earned the title of C.D. (Companion Dog). Only one dog may be entered in this class by any one exhibitor. The dog must be handled by the owner or a member of his immediate family. No person who has previously trained or exhibited a dog through its C.D.X. (Companion Dog Excellent) title shall be allowed to handle a dog in this class. mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has not earned the title of C.D. (Companion Dog). Dogs in this class may be handled by any person. More than one dog may be entered by any handler, but each dog must have a separate handler for the group exercises. No dog may be entered in both the Novice A and Novice B class at any one trial. mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has earned the title of C.D., C.D.X., U.D., or any Obedience Trial Championship Title prior to the closing date of the trial in which it is to be entered. Dogs in this class may be handled by any person. More than one dog may be entered by any handler, but each dog must have a separate handler for the group exercises. Dogs may compete in the Novice C class indefinitely. Scores earned by dog in the Novice C Class are not eligible for High in Trial and do not qualify a dog for any title. mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has earned the title of C.D. but has not earned the title of C.D.X. (Companion Dog Excellent). Only one dog may be entered in this class by any one exhibitor. The dog must be handled by the owner or a member of his immediate family. Any person who has previously trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a U.D. title may not handle a dog in this class. mixed breed or unrecognized breed which has earned the title of C.D. in Canada. Dogs in this class may be handled by any person. More than one dog may be entered by any handler, but each dog must have a separate handler for the group exercises. No dog may be entered in both Open A and Open B at any one trial. A dog that has earned the title of C.D.X. must compete in Open B. Dogs eligible for entry in the Utility Class are also eligible for entry in this class.

UTILITY A UTILITY B mixed breed or unrecognized breed that has earned the title of C.D.X., but has not earned the title of U.D.. The dog must be handled by the owner or a member of his immediate family. Any person who has trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a M.O.T.C.H title may not handle dogs in this class. Handlers may enter more than one dog in this class. mixed breed or unrecognized breed that has earned the title of C.D.X. or U.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any or any other person. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. No dog may be entered in both Utility A and Utility B at the same trial. UNOFFICIAL CLASSES OBEDIENCE The following classes will be provided (Trials 1 and 3 Only): VETERAN CLASS For any dog that has earned the title or CD or higher and is 7 years old or older on the day of the trial. The exercises shall be performed and judged as in the Novice Class. Listed are points added for age of dog 7 yrs 1 8 yrs 2 9 yrs 3 10 yrs- 5 11 yrs 7 12 yrs 9 13 yrs 11 14 yrs - 13 OFFICIAL CLASSES RALLY OBEDIENCE ( Ring Size: 50 ft. x 60 ft. ) The following classes will be offered: RALLY NOVICE A RALLY NOVICE B RALLY INTERMEDIATE RALLY ADVANCED A Dogs entered in this class may not have won a CKC Rally Novice (RN) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or member of their immediate family. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Dogs that have earned titles or are not the owners may enter in the Novice B class. All exercises are judged on leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. Any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced class has been earned. The owner or any person may handle dogs in this class. All exercises are judged on leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. This class shall be for dogs that have earned the Rally Novice (R.N.) title. A dog completing the R.I. or any other Obedience of Rally titles may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. This class is for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (RN) title but have not won the Rally Advanced (RA) titleor any CKC Novice Obedience title. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their immediate family. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class.

RALLY ADVANCED B RALLY EXCELLENT A RALLY EXCELLENT B RALLY MASTER This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (RN) title. Upon completing the Rally Advanced (RA) title a dog may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any person may handle dogs in this class. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (RA) title but have not won the Rally Excellent (RE) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. A dog may not be entered or exhibited in this class after official notification from the CKC that the dog has won the title (RE). No dog may be entered in both Rally Excellent A & B at any one trial. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their immediate family. All exercises are judge off leash and the dog must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (RA) title. A dog may compete in this class indefinitely. Any person is allowed to handle a dog in this class. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. This class will be for dogs that have earned the RE title. A dog completing the RM title may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. For information only: Rally Advanced Excellent title -- Upon completion of the Rally Excellent title, qualifying scores may be accumulated from Rally Advanced B and Rally Excellent B to earn the Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title. To receive the RAE title, a dog must qualify ten (10) times in both Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent at the same trial. The title will appear at the end of the dog s name and a numeric designation will indicate the number of times the dog has met the requirements, i.e. RAE2, RAE3, etc. To be eligible to compete in these obedience or rally obedience trials, the dog must be 6 months of age and registered or be eligible for registration with the CKC, have an ERN, PEN or a CKC Miscellaneous Certificate number. A dog may be spayed, neutered or debarked. CKC NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE APPLIES ONLY TO DOGS WHOLLY OWNED BY A NON CKC MEMBER AND ARE NOT APPLICABLE TO CKC MEMBERS An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled.

Change to Obedience Rules & Regulations: Open Class (Effective January 1, 2018) There are changes to the Obedience Trial Rules effective January 1, 2018. However, we want to provide advanced notice regarding the change to the Open Class A & B. Exhibitors will now have options within the Open A and B classes and still achieve the same titles. The Open A Class and the Open B Class will each have 2 options. Exhibitors must indicate on the entry form which option they choose when they complete their entry form. In Open A, exhibitors can choose between entering into Open HA (which remain as in the existing rules as Open A), or Open 18A (which also follows the existing rules except that the Long Sit is replaced with Change of Positions Exercises, and the Long Down is replaced with a Group Sit-Walk around.) In Open B, the exhibitor can choose between entering into Option HB (which remain as in the existing rules as Open B), or Option 18B (which adds in the new Change of Position Exercises).
