THE LABRADOR BREED COUNCIL Hon Secretary.. Mr Karl Gawthorpe 07 Sandgate Swindon Wiltshire SN HJ Tel: 079 E-mail: karlgawthorpe@sky.com PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING THE ENCLOSED FORM It is the responsibility of judges who were not passed to award their first set of C.Cs. prior to st July 998 to complete all the mandatory requirements of The Kennel Club (assessments of show regulations, ring proceedure & practical aspects of` judging, anatomy, conformation & movement, breed points plus stewarding experience) and to advise the Labrador Breed Council without delay so that their questionnaires may be updated accordingly. The Kennel Club will not consider granting permission to award CCs. until the mandatory requirements have been satisfactorily completed. All judges should make themselves familiar with the K.C.Working Party on Judges report. This new style questionnaire form for judges who wish to be included in one of the Labrador Breed Council's List of Judges has been produced to keep in line with the current requirements of the Kennel Club. Whilst not every question can be answered by judges applying for a lower List, all will become appropriate when a judge becomes eligible to be considered by The Kennel Club for inclusion in the new A List. If any questions cannot be answered at this time the spaces are to be left blank and may be completed later, Thus the Labrador Breed Council will in future need to hold only one form for each judge. The Kennel Club has directed that all judges on the present A List are to be automatically transferred to the new A List on st January 999 but before doing this the Breed Council will require every judge, other than those already on the AI Lists, to complete and return one of the new style forms. In the future it will only he necessary to update the form so saving unnecessary paperwork. As it was not mandatory for absentees to be recorded at shows prior to st January 99, It Is therefore not essential to record the number of Labradors actually judged at shows before this date. However, if records have been kept, they should be included When supplying information on non-labrador appointments only the number of classes of Breed or Variety actually judged at each show is required and not the names and details of each individual breed nor the numbers of dogs entered or actually judged. Computer print-outs or presentations which are not in the form required by the Breed Council are no longer acceptable. It is in the interests of all judges to notify the Secretary of the Labrador Breed Council of any changes, such as addresses, telephone numbers or inaccuracies which may have occurred, so that subsequent lists can be amended, Judging Lists cannot he altered during their lifetime. It is essential for judges at all levels to agree to submit reports on all judgings for publication in the canine press and such reports will be in the format required by the same. Before returning the questionnaire a good quality photocopy should be made as future additions and amendments may be submitted on this. As the criteria for the Judging lists is now common for all the Labrador Breed Clubs ONLY ONE QUESTIONNAIRE should be completed and returned. (Issued 0/)
