Veterinary Servies Capaity Building (Asia, the Far East and Oeania) - Veterinary Publi Health Centre for Asia ToR: To provide servies to the OIE, in partiular within the region, in the designated speialty, in support of the implementation of OIE poliies and, where required, seek for ollaboration with OIE Referene Laboratories ToR: To identify and maintain existing expertise, in partiular within its region 1. Ativities as a entre of researh, expertise, standardisation and dissemination of tehniques within the remit of the mandate given by the OIE Training, apaity building Title of ativity Sope Global Health Institute-GHI2017 Global Health Institute - Thailand 2017 offers One Health leadership training and speialized short ourses on key skills like risk analysis and partiipatory epidemiology. The three weeks GHIT-2017 also inluded a researh onferene for sharing of the latest sientifi knowledge on timely topis like emerging diseases, antimirobial resistane, and food safety. 3rd Global Health Conferene of Researhers in Emerging Disease at Convergene of Animal, Human and Environmental Health The 5th GHI offers intensive study the goal of OneHealth Leadership whih is essential for enthusiasti interests. The program offers 5 trak ourses that an be seleted by eah partiipant in order to fulfill and omplement the OneHealth Leadership experienes. It will be a great opportunity for all partiipants to have a platform for knowledge sharing and update. In order to earn best benefit for all, GHI 2017 organized the onferene for researhers together with OneHealth Leadership ourse and 5 trak ourses. Global Health Leadership: the onvergene at animal, human and environment for Outbreak responding using One Health Systems Mapping and Analysis The leadership skill was provided in this workshop as a baseline tehnial skill for the OH-SMART. This workshop brought together national major stakeholders inluding representatives of the publi health, animal health, food prodution and environment and build upon tools and approahes developed to strengthen One Health systems from these stakeholders. Speifially, by using the One Health Systems Mapping and Analysis Resoure Toolkit (OH- SMART ) to strengthen and improve proesses around antimirobial use (AMU) and AMR prevention, detetion and response. This part of the workshop will be failitated by trained national OH-SMART implementers with support from the OH-SMART development team from the USAID One Health Workfore Projet. 2 OIE Collaborating Centres Reports Ativities, 2017

Veterinary Servies Capaity Building (Asia, the Far East and Oeania) - Veterinary Publi Health Centre for Asia Partiipatory Epidemiology Approah to One Health EoHealth (Introdution) This is an introdutory ourse for future pratitioners of Partiipatory Epidemiology (PE). Partiipatory epidemiology uses partiipatory tehniques to understand the epidemiologial information and knowledge ontained within ommunity knowledge systems. Its purpose is to ontribute to informing health deision-making and ation. Partiipatory tehniques inlude ativities suh as semistrutured interviews, ranking and soring tehniques, interative mapping and diagraming tehniques, as well as diret observation skills. The training proess is tailored to professionals and emphasizes pratie and experiential learning. The first 2 days of the ourse will fous on priniples and onepts. Thereafter, approximately 2 days will be devoted to in-lass pratie of partiipatory tools and methods Partiipatory Epidemiology Approah to One Health EoHealth 2 (Community Base) The field pratie will provide the opportunity for partiipants to apply PE tehniques and tools that learned in PE introdutory ourse in the field to solve an epidemiologial problem. The problems were raised by the real ases in field ommunity. At least four days will be spent in the field where livestok owners and other key informants will be interviewed. This ourse utilizes interative and partiipatory tehniques. The students are asked to pratie tehniques in the role of main interviewer, assistant and note takers. At the end of eah day, all trainees will be partiipated in disussion and onlusion. Soial Network Analysis This workshop enourage the partiipants to use soial network analysis in order to desribe the epidemiology of the emerging disease. Basi priniple and its appliation are explained with examples. Food safety Risk Analysis This ourse will provide the neessary risk- and sienebased tools to evaluate and mitigate the mirobial and hemial risks in a food prodution hain from the farm until onsumption. Partiipants will be divided in small interdisiplinary groups to mimi a real risk analysis team and develop a real-ase senario (different for eah group). The attendants will follow the risk analysis proess as an integral part of a siene-based deision-making (risk prioritization, risk assessment, risk management and risk ommuniation) to estimate and manage the food safety risks. The attendants will apply different qualitative (hazard analysis, deision matries) and quantitative (risk prioritization, modeling and web-based software) tools by using a omputer. The partiipants will present the main outomes from the analyses and will evaluate possible mitigation options to redue the risk in a ost-effetive way. International training on Pratial Data Layout and Format for Statistial Analysis Workshop on Culling Praties, Disposal Approahes and Compensation Poliies for Poultry Disease Control in Lower Mekong Countries This workshop provide theoretial knowledge and pratie on data logging using a spreadsheet program and foused on priniple and how to reate a field reord form and reordings using a spreadsheet program. This workshop meeting is to share the relevant information among 5 Lower Mekong ountries, as shown in the meeting shedule. This shared data will be very useful to assist ountries in the region to develop strategies to redue the impat of disease outbreaks in Southeast Asia whih affets the regional eonomy. International Training on Basi Gene Cloning, Protein Expression and Purifiation The workshop was organized by VPHCAP, Chiang Mai University in ollaboration with Obihiro University of Agriulture and Veterinary Mediine, Japan. This workshop provided the knowledge on geneti moleular in finding new knowledge and reating new biology innovation in many fields inluding mediine, veterinary mediine, and as well as in publi health. Studying on gene of interest, gene and protein expression is an essene of basi moleular study. OIE Collaborating Centres Reports Ativities, 2017 3

Veterinary Servies Capaity Building (Asia, the Far East and Oeania) - Veterinary Publi Health Centre for Asia Geographial Information Systems (GIS) and Spatial Analysis for Disease Outbreak Investigation This ourse will provide the basis to understand the usefulness of Geographial Information Systems and spatiotemporal analyses to provide an inreased preision to the qualitative and quantitative assessment of disease outbreaks, ompare different populations/settings through the use of quantitative and objetive riteria and detet signifiant phenomenon that may be impereptible otherwise. Master of Veterinary Publi Health (International program) The Master of Veterinary Publi Health (International Program) aims to produe graduates from Asia ountries to have all-round ompetenies in Veterinary Publi Health and reate the network to ontrol, prevent and resolve diseases aused by epidemi diseases, zoonoses and food hygiene, with an emphasis on quality ontrol and safety of animal-origin food along the food prodution inluding environmental hygiene in region level. The urriulum enourages the student-entered atmosphere and onentrates on universal knowledge to resolve the problems in their own ountries and region. The urriulum also emphasizes on students loal problem area to arry out researh study whih will be supervised by professors and experts from Thailand and other ountries. The researh strengthens students to pratie systemati manner by using Veterinary Publi Health disipline in order to further develop the new body of knowledge. ToR : To propose or develop methods and proedures that failitate harmonisation of international standards and guidelines appliable to the designated speialty 2.
