Eligibility Requirements: Dogs from an eligible breed 6 months of age or older that have been registered with the AKC, have been recorded with the Foundation Stock Service (FSS) or have an ILP or PAL granted by the AKC are eligible to participate. Dogs may be spayed and neutered. A dog, if an eligible breed with an acceptable foreign registration number, is eligible to participate, subject to Chapter 11, Sec. 1, of the Dog Show Rules. Dogs of an eligible breed that have been granted Indefinite Listing Privileges (ILP) are eligible to participate.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT DOGS ENTERED IN Intro to Quarry WILL TEST IN Intro to Quarry BEFORE THE REGULAR CLASS TEST. If you are late to the Gate Steward and miss your scheduled test, you will be moved to the end of the order. You will not be counted as absent until the testing judge has given opportunity to all present with the Gate Steward to test their dogs. Once a class has been concluded, any dog not present will be counted as absent. The Test committee reserves the right to modify the test running order to keep the events running smoothly.

Notice to Exhibitors Dogs may enter more than one regular class at an Earthdog test, subject to the following criteria. Master Earthdog is open only to dogs that have acquired the Senior Earthdog title before entries have closed or have been awarded the Master Earthdog title. Senior Earthdog is open only to dogs that have acquired the Junior Earthdog title before entries have closed and to dogs with Master or Senior Earthdog titles. Junior Earthdog is open to all dogs. Any dog, otherwise eligible, may enter Introduction to Quarry (IQ), at the owner s discretion. IQ is a nonregular (practice) class. Dogs do not have to pass IQ to be entered in any of the other classes. Bitches in season are not eligible to enter Earthdog Tests. There will be no refund of any entry fee in this case. EXHIBITORS should follow their veterinarian s recommendations to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. SITE: Bring your own shade and chairs. DOGS must be leashed or otherwise controlled by their owners while waiting to compete. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. The trial will be held rain or shine. Dress for the weather and bring chairs. The judge and test committee are solely responsible for the den set-up, and are the only ones allowed in the den areas 24 hours before the test. PARTICIPANTS PLEASE NOTE: You are requested to clean up and leave the test site and grounds as we received them. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR COOPERATION. If you run out of poop bags please let us know we ll have some extras on hand for this type of emergency. Endurance Earthdog (EE). In order to be eligible to earn an Endurance Earthdog (EE) title, a dog must have already earned a Master Earthdog title. An Endurance Earthdog title is earned when a dog, on five occasions, passes both the Senior and Master classes at the same event (one event number). The owner shall record each of the five Double Qualifications on a form available at AKC.org under the Earthdog tab. Once five Double Qualifications have been awarded, the owner submits the completed form to the AKC along with a title recording fee of $30. Upon verification, the AKC issues a title certificate to the owner, and the dog shall be identified as an Endurance Earthdog by the suffix title EE. Ensure keep a copy of the completed form for your records. Closing of Entries / Alternates and Move-Ups All move up requests must be submitted in writing and received by the Test Secretary not later than Wednesday before the test. Move ups from Saturday to Sunday must be submitted in writing and received by the Test Secretary before the close of the Test on Saturday. Ribbons & Prizes The Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Washington, D.C. offers a ribbon to each dog that passes the Introduction to Quarry test and a rosette to each dog that qualifies in the Junior Earthdog, Senior Earthdog, or Master Earthdog test.

Request for Volunteers! Do you want a FREE LUNCH for yourself or a guest you re bringing with you? Here s how to get one! *STCGW Club members are not eligible for free lunch but they re more than welcome to come volunteer for their club! In an effort to speed up and better organize the process for this year s event, we re asking for volunteers to assist us. If you are interested, the areas/tasks where we need volunteers are: At each testing location (IQ, Junior, Master and Senior) we need: A Judge s Assistant. Also known as Rat Wrangler, this position entails doing things the judge asks, staying close and helping the judge ensure the trial is run smoothly. This individual will take care of the rats when they re not in the tunnels. A Gate Keeper. This individual remains at the entry gate or release point to inform entrants when to approach the tunnels with their dogs. Other available positions: Runner This individual needs to be available to go between the tunnel sites and Mary s garage to assist in getting people to/from the tunnel areas, and to run any errands the judges may need. Would like to have two per event (3 events). Can be the same two people the entire two days. Ribbons/General Announcements This individual will assist Lori in preparing ribbons after the judges have completed their trial packets and announcing when the judge is ready to present awards. Could be required to chase down entrants to ensure they re ready for when the trial start. Lunch Manager This individual is responsible for ensuring lunch items are appropriately arranged, including plates, napkins, utensils, side dishes, etc. Also responsible for collecting lunch tickets and/or cash from entrants. Volunteers are expected to remain at their assigned location for the duration of the trial/event. Judges will provide FREE lunch tickets to their volunteers following the trial.
