The gate will open to exhibitors at 7:00a.m. A parking fee will be collected by the park upon entry into the park. Please follow all County parking instructions and regulations. Ext Hwy 101 at Laurel. Turn right from the exit ramp onto W. Laurel and prepare to make an immediate Left. 1/2 Block ahead make a Left turn onto Davis Rd. Turn Left onto Reservation Rd. and follow approx. 2 miles to Hwy 68. Take Hwy 68 to the right towards Monterey. Follow Hwy 68 to the very next exit, Portola Dr. Exit under highway. As the road emerges from under the highway, the park entrance is directly across from the stop sign. FROM SOUTHERN CA. Take Hwy 101 north to Salinas. Exit Hwy 101 at the Monterey Peninsula / Sanborn Road exit. Follow Sanborn Road (becomes Blanco) approx. 2.5 miles to Main St. Turn Left onto Main St. (Hwy 68). Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. An AKC Recording Fee of $.50 per first entry and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. An AKC Recording Fee of $3.00 will be required for each entry in any Licensed or Member Club Rally Trial. All Recording and Event Service Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. (There is no Recording Fee or Event Service Fee for Junior Showmanship, Sweepstakes, Futurities, Brace/Team, Multi-Dog Classes or Special Attractions.) No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Postdated checks and returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date, nor in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, fire, act of God, act of a public enemy, strikes, extreme weather conditions (including, but not limited to, extreme heat, snow-storms or hurricanes) or any other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the Trial, no refund of entry fee will be made. Refunds for bitches in season will be given less $5.00 for administrative fees. Written notice must be given to the Trial Secretary at least 30 minutes before judging starts. Acknowledgement of entries will be made as soon as possible after the closing date. Should such acknowledgement not be received by an exhibitor within 7 days prior to the Trial, please notify the Trial Secretary. Entries will be arranged according to jump height order in all classes in which jumps are used. Order within classes will be ascending from lowest to highest jump heights. Additional Trial Rules 1. The Club and Management will attempt to exercise every precaution for the safety of all dogs and people. However, neither the Club nor the Management will be responsible for injury or loss. 2. The Club assumes no responsibility for a wrong entry. Please PRINT or TYPE all information on entry form. 3. All exhibitors who qualify to compete for Special Awards must fill out and return awards form or register with the Trial Secretary on the day of the Trial PRIOR to the start of that particular class. The Club assumes no responsibility for omission. 4. In case of a tie for any prize, any dog not present for a runoff forfeits the right to the prize. 5. No awards will be mailed or delivered. An exhibitor whose dog is eligible for an award must be present or appoint a representative to accept the award for him/her on the day the award is earned. 6. One complimentary catalog will be provided to each person entered. 7. Catalogs sell for $3.00. Pre-paid, marked catalogs will be mailed for $10.00. Please send requests and checks to the Trial Secretary by close of entries. 8. There is no admission charge to spectators. 9. This is a SELF CLEANING show. Please clean up after your dogs. 10. Early arrivals should respect sleeping residents by monitoring noise levels, keeping dogs under control, and quieting excessive barking. 11. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the grounds. 12. A MOVE UP to the next level class is permitted in accordance with AKC regulations. The request for a Move-Up must be made in writing and presented to the Trial Secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the trial. Move-Up forms for Obedience and Rally will be available at the Secretary's table. 13. A designated warm-up area (practice ring) shall be provided. The AKC has charged Trial giving clubs the responsibility to enforce the Rules and Regulations forbidding drilling and/or unacceptable training on the trial grounds. No spiked or other special training collars. Drilling, intensive or abusive training will not be allowed.
