Regards Bill. ------------------------------------------------- Obituary. Sadly, it has to be announced for those members who are unaware, that Julie Trebbin lost her battle against cancer on the 13 th August, surrounded by her family. Julie will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. If the size of one s funeral is comparable to how one is known and loved then Julie must have been one of the best known and loved people around, because as some of the people who attended her funeral attested, the church was absolutely packed, with just as many people outside. Julie will be missed around the show circuit, not just the budgies but also the rodeo, which she loved. We will certainly miss you Julie. --------------- Do you keep your birds under lock and key? Maybe you should, as Jim Burke found out recently. Although knowing the lengths that some people go to when they want to steal other people property it may not have helped. Jim had 170 of his best birds stolen in the early hours of the morning. As you can imagine Jim was quite devastated. Can you imagine how he then felt when the thief then came back a couple of days later and not only stole his breeders but also the cages, young & eggs as well. The only birds Jim was left with were a few he was holding under his house. Thanks to a neighbour who on the second occasion saw the thief after hearing his dog going ballistic, the police were able to catch the thief trying to sell the second lot of birds at a Logan pet shop. It appears that he had been casing the Jim s place, by visiting, and saying he was interested in buying birds. The first lot of Jim s birds were apparently sold at a flea market. Hopefully Jim will be able to get some back. Remember be on the lookout & don t let your guard down when it comes to the security of your birds.
