All Breeds including Mixed Breeds Welcome! ASCA Sanctioned AGILITY TRIAL What is ASCA agility? Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) agility is open to all dogs, both purebred and mixes, at least eighteen (18) months of age. Courses are typically fast and flowing. Can any dog enter? Do I need a Tracking Number? ASCA agility is open to all breeds and mixes. An ASCA registration number or tracking number is not required to enter the trial. However if you want ASCA to track your qualifying legs and issue your title certificates, then your dog must have an ASCA registration number (Aussies only) or a tracking number. The Tracking Number Form may be found at back of premium or on the ASCA website. http://www.asca.org/portals/0/trackapp.pdf Do I have to start in Novice? TOP DOG PERFORMANCE CLUB of NORTHERN ARIZONA (TDPC) and NORTHERN ARIZONA AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD ASSOCIATION (NAASA) Kuebler Field at Pioneer Park 1185 Commerce Drive Prescott, AZ 86305 Outdoors on Grass April 25th 26th, 2015 Judge Dan Roy, San Diego, California 12 Classes Offered (350 runs per day) Saturday April 25th: 2 Gamblers, 2 Regular, 2 Jumpers Sunday April 26th: 2 Gamblers, 2 Regular, 2 Jumpers Pre-entries Open March 15th, 2015 and will Close April 20th, 2015, or sooner, if the limit has been reached. If trial does not fill, day of show entries will be taken from 7:00-7:30 AM on Saturday & Sunday. IMPORTANT NOTE: Postmark date is date of record. Please do not send entries Signature Required. No, you may enter at a higher level, however any qualifying scores will first be used to satisfy the lower title requirements. Example: if you do not have any ASCA agility titles and you enter in Open Regular, your first 30 points in Open will be used to satisfy the Novice title before being applied to the Open title. Once qualifing at a higher level, dog cannot compete at lower level. Is training in the ring allowed? Yes, as in NADAC agility, reasonable training in the ring is allowed, however you will receive an elimination. Collars, leashes and toys are not allowed in the ring. Is ASCA Gamblers class a traditional gamble? Yes, ASCA agility has traditional gamblers class as well as veterans, junior handlers and ACE divisions in all classes. What is required for a title? The regular class requires 30 points to complete a title. A clean run is awarded 10 pts, a faulted run (over time/knocked bar) is awarded 5 pts. Gamblers and Jumpers requires 20 pts (2 clean runs) for a title. You can remain at the same level after completing a title to work toward Outstanding or Superior titles, or move up to the next level. What if I don t have an ASCA jump height card? You can use your AKC or NADAC height card, so you don t have to wait to be measured. Send a copy with your entry.

Qualifying runs with no faults receive 10 points; runs with no more than five faults receive 5 points. JUMPERS class: The ASCA Jumpers class is primarily composed of single jumps, but may also include one double bar jump, the tire jump, one closed tunnel (chute), and/or open tunnels. The course consists of 12-20 obstacles. Speed is of essence in the Jumpers class, and teams must have a clean run with no time faults in order to qualify. Qualifying runs receive 10 points. GAMBLERS class: The ASCA Gamblers class is the Old-Style Gamblers with point accumulation period, immediately followed by a gamble sequence. Qualifying runs receive 10 points. Accumulation Period. All dogs are allowed 30 seconds in the accumulation period. Each type of obstacle is assigned a point value and teams must accumulate a minimum number of points in the accumulation period (Novice-15 pts, Open 18-pts, Elite-21 pts). During the accumulation period the handler directs the dog over a course determined by the team. The dog may not perform the gamble sequence or any segment of the gamble sequence in order; however they may perform the obstacles individually or in the reverse sequence. Note that if a bar on a gamble obstacle is knocked down during the point accumulation period, the dog cannot receive credit for performing the gamble sequence. Gamble Sequence: The Gamble sequence is composed of 4 required obstacles and sometimes a 5th optional obstacle. The gamble period begins immediately at the end of the accumulation period. In the gamble period, dogs must perform the 4 obstacles in the designated sequence within the designated time, with handlers remaining behind a gamble line. Teams will not qualify if the handler crosses the gamble line or if a bar is dropped during the performance of the gamble. For more information on ASCA classes, please refer to the ASCA Agility Rules & Regulations at http://www.asca.org Novice Level The Novice Level is the first entry level for every class. The Novice level is for any dog which has not yet earned ASCA certification in a particular class. The purpose of dividing any class level into A/B categories is in the fairness of competition. If the dog and handler are just beginning agility competition, they should compete in the Novice A category. If the dog and handler has previously earned a Regular Agility Standard Novice (RS-N) certificate, a Gamblers Agility Standard Novice (GS-N) certificate or a Jumpers Agility Standard (JS-N) certificate or any of the equivalents from any international style agility association, then they must enter in the Novice B category for that particular class. All ASCA Agility judges must compete in the B category if offered by the host club. Veterans Division is open to any dog age seven (7) or older, or any handler aged 60 or older, or any handler who has a certificate of disability. The dog's age shall be determined by the dog's actual birthday or the closest date as known. The handler's age shall be determined by a birth certificate or any valid document giving date of birth. Disabled handlers shall present a copy of their disabled parking permit or a letter from their doctor. Dogs entered in the Veterans Division classes will jump 4 lower than their regular jump height. Course times for dogs entered in the Veterans Division of the Regular Agility and Jumpers classes shall be 10% greater than the SCT for the Standard Division. The gamble time in the Veterans Gamblers class shall be two seconds longer than the gamble time for the Standard Division. The maximum course time shall remain the same as the Standard Division. Dogs are NOT allowed to wear collars in ASCA Agility. No leads, collars, food, toys, clickers, other aids or devices will be permitted on the course or within 10 feet of the rings at any time. The only exception to this is leading your dog to the start on leash and leaving the ring on leash. Any dog which demonstrates AGGRESSION towards any person or any dog, whether inside or outside the ring, must be excused from the agility trial. Any dog which the judge feels is not in enough CONTROL to perform all obstacles in a safe manner will be excused from the agility trial.

How much is the total cost for a tracking number? In order to obtain a tracking number for your dog, you must be at least a Service member. The cost for Service Membership is $10. Your membership is good for one year; however, it does not need to be maintained in subsequent years, unless you want to obtain another tracking number for another dog after your membership has expired. This membership fee is in addition to the tracking fee of $10 per dog. A tracking number is good for the lifetime of the dog. If you only have one dog, the total cost would be $20. For two dogs, the cost would be $30, etc. Mail completed form with check, money order, or credit card information to: ASCA Business Office 6091 E State Hwy 21 Bryan, TX 77801 Phone: (979) 778 1082 You may fax the form to us at: (979) 778 1898 CC# EXP PLEASE THIS SPACE TO PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD CARDHOLDER Revised 5/24/11
