Honors Parade (Show # 1 Only) - The Fort Detroit Golden Retriever Club, Inc. is pleased to offer an Honors Parade to recognize those dogs present at the show which have received an AKC Championship, Agility Excellent Title, Utility Dog Title, Tracking Dog Excellent Title, Master Hunting Title and those dogs qualified as Open All-Age Field Trial. We will also recognize any Golden Retriever designated by the Golden Retriever Club of America as an Outstanding Sire or as an Outstanding Dam. Each dog entering the Honors Parade will be presented with a Rosette with the dog's name & titles on it. Dogs entered in the Honors Parade need not be entered in any other class in this Specialty Show or Obedience Trial but all information must be submitted on an Official AKC entry blank with Honors Parade as well as the title being honored in the space provided for Additional Classes. A brief write-up on the dog's accomplishments may be given to the Show Chairperson on the day of the event to be read aloud. The Honors Parade will be held during the lunch break. Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries NR2.09100. Stud Dog Class - Will be for Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. Get only to be judged, based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a Regular Class, Best of Breed Competition, or some other Non-Regular Class. NR2.09200. Brood Bitch Class - Will be for Brood Bitches and two of their Produce. Brood Bitches must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their Produce. Owner of Brood Bitch need not necessarily be owner of the Produce. Produce only to be judged, based on the merits of the Produce. While the merits of the Brood Bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Brood Bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Produce must be entered in a Regular Class, Best of Breed Competition, or some other Non-Regular Class. As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog and Brood Bitch Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, none of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible for Best of Breed or Variety by virtue of having won these classes. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present or a first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show, are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class. Must notify the Superintendent/Show Secretary at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may be obtained from the American Kennel Club - PHONE: (919) 233-9767. Entry blank MUST be filled out with the necessary information, otherwise the entry in Junior Showmanship will not be accepted. NOVICE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class with competition present at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places in a Novice Junior Showmanship Class with competition present at a licensed or member show. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open Class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 60 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. Master Class: This class will be for Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. NOTICE JUNIORS WITH A DOG ALSO ENTERED IN ANOTHER CLASS OFFERED AT THIS SHOW WHO SUBSTITUTE A DOG NOT ENTERED IN THIS SHOW MUST REMIT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP ONLY AND JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AS AN ADDITIONAL CLASS ENTRY FEE. JUNIORS WHO HAVE ENTERED JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP ONLY WHO THEN SUBSTITUTE ANOTHER DOG WILL NOT BE CHARGED A FURTHER FEE. Show #1 12800. Any dog completing a title, according to the handler's records, at these events will receive a Commemorative Rosette supplied by FDGRC. None will be mailed. Judges Will Not Wait for Any Dog Holding Up a Class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent s Office advised at once. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club in effect at the time of this event, and any additional rules and regulations appearing in the premium list of this event and entry form and any decision made in accord with them. I (we) agree that the club holding this other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed the dog is recorded in his/her name.
