Payment is due upon confirmation of entry. Payment must be sent within 72 hours of receiving confirmation or your spot may be released. Waitlist: If the trial fills a waitlist will be maintained. Should a space become available it will be offered to waitlist members in the order their registration was received. **Competitors WILL be allowed to enter and run two dogs in the same level on the same day. Second dogs will run at the end of all of the first dogs of that level, once the hide has been moved. Closing Date: Wednesday May 30th at 12pm CST or when trials fill if any day does not fill onsite entries will be accepted. Schedule: Check-in times for each level and a detailed schedule will be sent by email to competitors approximately 1 week prior to the trial. Refunds: Refunds will be issued for any dog withdrawing for medical reasons. A Veterinarian Certificate must be submitted before the start of the trial. For handlers withdrawing for medical reasons a refund will be issued if the space can be filled. All refunds are subject to a $5 per entry day processing fee.
General Rules and Regulations: Through submission of your entry, you acknowledge that you have reviewed, and agreed to abide by, the Rules and Regulations in the Master Rule Book on the SDDA website: www.sportingdetectiondogs.ca. Specific site related rules and guidelines will also be shared with competitors before and at the event. All dogs in attendance must be over 3 months of age. All dogs must be on a flat collar or harness in the search area. Please check in with the Trial Secretary upon your arrival to the trial site and present each dog s registration card. Spectators are only allowed to view a search with permission from the judge if requested by the dog s handler. TRAINING AND/OR UNOFFICIAL USE OF ODOUR IS NOT PERMITTED ON TRIAL GROUNDS. Titles: All three (3) components (Container, Interior, and Exterior) must be successfully completed (qualifying scores earned) to earn the SD-S, SD-A or SD-E title. The SP (Special) designation will be added to the title of any dog that completes the three components on the same day, at the same trial. For Elite (SD-EL) all 3 components must be passed on the same day. Awards and Prizes: Qualifying ribbons will be presented per component; Placement prizes will be awarded for HIT, special awards, 1 st -3 rd. SDDA New Title rosettes will be awarded for new titles in all levels. Non-Qualifying (NQ) Scores Anyone who has an NQ run will be able to enter their name into a draw for a large prize. Running Order: This will be decided by random draw and displayed for competitors. Bitches in Heat: Bitches in heat may compete, but must wear panties when trialing and will be placed at the end of the running order for each component. Handlers MUST notify the trial secretary of a bitch in heat prior to arrival at the competition. Crating: In severely inclement weather, some indoor crating may be arranged, otherwise indoor crating will not be provided. Come prepared to crate in your vehicle or outdoors in the designated area. There is plenty of free parking on site close to the building. There will be no overnight camping on the premises. No Shows: Are considered competitors who are not present at the time of their level briefing and who have not made contact with the trial secretary to give notice. No show spaces will be made available to those who may have showed up for day of entries.
Same Day and Next Day Move Ups: Competitors who were already registered for Saturday/Sunday and who successfully complete their level on Saturday may move up on Sunday if time/space permits. You must speak to the trial secretary before you leave on Friday/Saturday to arrange a move up. Same day move ups may be possible for competitors who successfully complete their level and wish to enter in the next level that day only if there is available time and space. Please speak to the trial secretary as soon as you pass your current level. Canteen There will be a small canteen on site with coffee, drinks and small snacks available to purchase.
